Abbey-Assisted Living

    The Abbey is an alternative to the nursing home environment offering serene surroundings on four beautiful acres in Mentor, Ohio.

    Established by Fredrick Weisenseel, Sr., we are celebrating our 30th year as a family owned and operated assisted living home.  We are also pleased to announce that we were the first assisted living home in Lake County!  Setting the standards for all to follow.

    Our resident's medication and incontenient supplies are delivered monthly and we have nurses and a physician on call for home visits.  All X-rays, ultrasounds, EKG's, blood work, etc., is done right on premises.  A podiatrist is also on call along with physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech therapists;  all done right here, which makes it very convenient for our seniors and their families.  We also work with Hospice in our facility for those in need of their services.

    All residents are supervised on a 24 hour basis. We have a full staff to cater to each individual's needs. All of our staff are certified in first aid and CPR. We pride ourselves on a small family oriented facility which gives us the opportunity to provide one on one care to all!

    We assist in bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, ambulating and meals/eating if needed. Laundry is also included.  All meals are homemade in our kitchen daily.

    We have plenty to do for fun including cookouts on our gigantic patio, dances with karaoke, day trips and vacations, crafts and games including bingo and roulette and much, much more. We also make birthdays and holidays extra special with all the trimmings.
