My Mom has only been at the Brookdale Cordova since last Saturday. Moving your Mom from living alone to the hospital, to a nursing home, and then to assisted living has been hard, but I will say that Brookdale has made it as easy as possible. My Mom is 90 years old and is extremely hard to deal with on certain days. The employees of Brookdale have made the move as easy as possible in the situation I was in. I do thank each and everyone for their help.

Their breakdown in the initial meeting about how things are run at Emeritus at Cordova was very insightful and helpful. Due to circumstances beyond our control we ended up having to break the contract and get grandmother elsewhere, and they were very understanding and accommodating. They've really been great in any way and I would highly recommend them.

After my tour with Donna I felt confident that this was exactly the place I was looking for. She was so upbeat and made this very difficult process so much more bearable. By the time we left my mother was laughing and smiling again. I was very impressed by the staff, who greeted us and introduced themselves as we toured. Several said they hoped they would see us again soon. The DON took time to ask us about my mom's medical concerns, something that no other home offered. I was also impressed by the cleanliness, the odor free environment and the general feeling that everyone seemed happy. I know I made the right choice.

They've been very helpful. Both Place for Mom and Emeritus and Cordova have stayed in touch with me. I like that they're very attentive to my mother, they're very friendly, just overall nice people, that think and really care about my wishes. They seem to try to keep everything in line, especially with her medicines. I wish the location was closer, but it's working out fine. They've done activities in the gathering room. She likes the patients real well, and gets along with them. She really likes it there.

To be brief, my partner and her sister (whose mother used to live at Emeritus at Buckingham Estates) were very pleased, particularly with the staff at that community.

It is the best. But my husband can't transfer anymore. He had an accident and pt isn't helping much. He loved it there and all the help especially [name removed] the head nurse. It is a great place with wonderful help!

Value for cost is so high because they let you age in place. They are friendly, accommodating and care about the patients. Nurses go out of their way to care for people. Only complaint is maintenance guy is really busy because they are doing renovations. The room sizes are decent. Not enough windows. Amenities are good. Snacks and drinks anytime. It's winter and less is going on but they have a lot of entertainment come in.

Staff is friendly and helpful. I would like more outings like to lunch, Target, Walmart, etc. We used to have more but I think it’s hard to find a driver for the bus. It would be nice to have more options for lunch and dinner so that lower carb food can be selected. Overall, my experience has been positive. I like the small size so that it’s easy to get to know the other residents.

What we like the most about Buckingham Heights is the friendliness. We would not necessarily recommend this community to others, it would be according to what their loved ones needs and priorities might be.

It was excellent proximity to me and our family members, and it was worth the short stay. My experience there was warm and welcoming. I know that changes were in the process and if the same administration is there concerns were taken care of the facility had beautiful grounds caring care. There was church, and concerts. Otherwise, tv was the entertainment. I believe things changed since my family member was there. Meals (dinner) often served cool. If he didn't like something, he could ask for a sandwich. Not enough fresh fruit or salads were served.

No communication if you use their physician, they don't tell us anything. Rooms are not kept very clean. Clothes don't all come back from laundry. They are forced to sit in front lobby. On the lower end of recommendations, we are looking for a new place.

Communication with family is excellent, they try not to have any surprises. Staff is competent - but turnover seems to be higher with respect to the previous place my Mom was a resident. The move in process was excellent. The meal quality is okay - my Mom is in Memory Care, so this is a secondary concern. I would recommend this facility to others.

There are ones who have been very helpful and kind to help. my husband requires help with a lot and he is not easy to deal with all the time. i really appreciate those people.

My loved one is currently a resident at Shelby Gardens Place and overall things have been very good for her at this facility. The people are very nice and I feel like my loved one gets good care. I am not sure that they help her in the evenings as much as I might like, but I don't worry about her. I think it is a bit expensive for the services that she gets. But she is comfortable there, and I do not plan to move her.

I would recommend. Friendly and professional. We picked this community because of the availability and price.

It was more welcoming and cleaner and the staff has been great. The interaction/communication with the staff, has been great.

My only frustration has been being able to communicate effectively with the staff caring for my mom. Return calls/emails are not timely and I wish I knew who to address concerns to or pass along info to without feeling like I'm pestering staff. I wish family members were given a contact person so I knew that info pertinent to my mom's care was absolutely getting relayed to the person in the position to assist her. My sister & I have been saying that we are so much more relaxed knowing my mom is not alone, being cared for and no longer so lonely. We also think it's perfectly sized for everyone to get to know one another

We toured Shelby Gardens Place during our search for Assisted Living for our loved one. The facility and tour were very good. The friendliness and atmosphere were good, too.

Northshore Heights is a beautiful place inside and outside. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Mother loves it, and we have no regrets about moving her here.

We've been very pleased with Shelby Gardens. There were some issues the first month getting on the shower schedule and figuring out laundry but any problems have been handled quickly. The nursing staff are very attentive and we feel comfortable knowing she is being cared for. Having PT in the same building is also a benefit for us, she has gotten much stronger since she first arrived. The caring atmosphere and people have greatly improved her well-being. The nurses have reached out to me concerning her care and trying to understand more of her medical and mental history. Their attention and care makes me feel like it's a group effort in caring for her. Feels like they really care and want her to be at her best. Many of the residents have also been helpful and kind when she first arrived. I believe part of the reason the residents are happy comes from how they are treated by the staff and the community they feel a part of. Shelby Gardens was an answer to prayer and working with A Place for Mom made it so much easier than we expected.
