Disappointed

The building is nice except the courtyard is looking run down ,but the energy here is depressing alot of the residents seem frustrated because of lack of help and services they need and pay for . I feel like we're not being heard and deserve a friendlier and more compassionate environment with workers who interact and spend time with us instead of being just a 9 to 5 job .This place has a lot of potential with the right leader and much more oversight.

wouldn't recommend

I am miserable here, was told I could do my own meds then they took those away. There are some med techs here that are very sweet and nice but the administrator's I would give a zero. I stay hidden away in my room because I don't want to run into any administrator. I don't eat here hardly every anymore. The food is bad. The soda/ice machine is always broken. If you like bingo every day you would like the activities. I could get an apartment for [fee removed] less and be happier.

I Would not recommend this facility

My loved one was improperly placed here. He belonged in a nursing home. This facility couldn't provide the level of care that he needed, even though they said that they could. He was first placed in Assisted Living and then immediately moved into Memory Care. They told us that more care would be given to him in Memory Care, but it was not. It was a horrible experience. My loved one is bed ridden. I went to visit one time and found his food (from hours before) spilled in his bed, all over his sheets. No one had noticed. We had many other issues, as well. They're also very understaffed. Some nights there is only one staff member there....to run all 3 units! Including handling medication distribution. When we met with the Director to discuss our concerns, he basically put the blame on our loved one. I would not recommend this facility.

Tour of Verandas at Wheat Ridge

We did not have the best tour experience at Verandas at Wheat Ridge. The house smelled and the appearance was just off-putting. It made me sad because the gal who runs it is so sweet and you can tell she is really trying her hardest, she looked exhausted. It made us realize my loved one did not need this type of care.

Review of Alta Ridge Alzheimers Community in Sandy, Ut

These comments are actually for Alta Ridge, which is the one directly across from where my mom was. Clean and friendly environment but very small with little or no room for walking. Good staff. $4400 to $4850 depending on level of care..

RUN dont walk!!!

Whatever you do-DO NOT leave your loved one at this facility. They are understaffed, not properly trained, and the night shift sleeps on their shift. This is only the beginning of the nightmare you will experience if you decide to take your loved one to this facility. The med-techs are not trained-they do not make sure each resident takes their meds and meds are left on the table for anyone to take. Personal experience is my witness. The residents are not showered regularly, nor is their room cleaned or bedding laundered regulary. If I could give this facility a zero I would. Over a period of 1.5 years I would rate the care of the patient at a 1 and the facility itself a 0. The lies that were told to cover up mistakes made were unbelievable, I dont know how management sleeps at night. Oh lastly, do not look in the refigerator of the facility. Food is not rotated or dated. It is disgusting!!

Always short staffed

Just pick up the phone and try to call, there is no one ever there that knows anything. The staff is always new each month. No one is there to cook meals so they have ordered pizza a few times. So disorganized. No one is ever there you could just walk in at anytime. No one at front desk, lobby area is a mess. My loved ones room was never cleaned as they didn’t have the staff. Turn and run away from here!!!

Absolutely Awful

My mother was in memory care. Never saw the nurse of house 8 interact with residents. Was missing or staring at the computer. My mother could not feed herself but they just put food in front of her. We had to go in everyday and feed her just so she would have 1 meal a day. They hardly ever checked on her. She was always dirty or smelly. Rooms were always unkempt. They lost her bedding , clothes, walker, wheelchair and never could find her shoes..We complained several times, said they would improve. Then she started having scratches, bruises and rug burns on her. The last straw was her wrist was broken for 2 days before they told us. We took her to the hospital and Dr recommended we don't take her back. So we took her home and immediately started looking for a better place. My poor mom. They do not have the staff or proper medical knowledge to take care of Alz/Dementia patients.

If you love your family member, never even consider this place!!

My mom was there for 4 months and I have removed her from that facility. Residents required to sit all day in a cold group sitting area with no activities other than an obnoxious, blaring TV. She rarely had on her own clothes, rarely bathed properly, her hair never combed, her undergarments wet and soiled, family had to regularly ask to have her changed, bedding was minimal with never enough blankets on the bed for nighttime! Carpeting not clean and bathrooms were never sanitized appropriately. Mom was "lost" by personnel one night and found asleep in the laundry room on a pile of pooped on and peed on bed linens. Then on another occasion, she was "lost" again and found in the kitchen with no clothes on trying to find a knife to kill herself. Never any apology or communication. Mom went multiple days without her meds; some of her meds found on the floor in her bedroom. No beautician on site as advertised, NO activities on site, no devotional services, no aging in place services!

Unacceptable

My father was in memory care and they were quite understaffed. 1 evening it took 55 min to find someone who could give him his nitroglycerine tablet for chest pain. There was much more that bothered me and constituted sub-par care. He was approved for ALTHS to cover oct and forward. We paid full amount oct thru Jan. Unfortunately he passed in Jan. To date there has been no reimbursement and no return calls to the 10 messages I have left. This is definitely a for-profit business 1st and foremost.

This was an awful tour

Visions Senior Living Mesa has changed management since my tour there. When I went on my tour the inside was old looking, dumpy, the paint job was awful there was a Bright yellow room, a Purple room and some of the floors were buckled. Everything was out dated and really not safe, not enough seating for the residents to watch TV and the seats that were there were torn and tattered. Not maintained well at all. I did ask how often they cleaned and was told at least once a week. I would never recommend Visions Senior Living to anyone.

Stay Away from Ridgeview Gardens of St. George

I would tell others to go somewhere else. There is a move in fee that was supposed to cover an assessment and my loved one never received one. My loved one was supposed to have their blood pressure checked, and the community never did. The staff wasn’t around when my loved one moved in, and it took us 30 minutes to find someone to assist us. Starting Friday afternoon and all weekend, there is no staff around. It took 20 times of the phone ringing before a staff member answered the phone, when I called to check on my loved one. The fridge would fall out of the cabinet space, which was too small for the fridge to fit properly. The doorknob was broken in my loved one’s room when they first moved in. The key wouldn’t fit in the doorknob either, and it was never fixed for my loved one during the duration of their stay.

Run and run fast

My father in law lived here for a year he is malnourished and severely dehydrated. He has dementia and uses a catheter and upon moving him out because of [name removed] who lies different lies to each family member the lack of care for him....his room had urine and stains on the floors all over his bed was blood and urine. His bed was brand new when he moved in. Dirty cather bags with urine still in them mixed in with clean catheter bags. They were told his bags needed changed every week but they were only changing once a month. He had constant UTI'S now we know why. Other residents told us he had to beg to get his bag emptied during the day. They call frozen fish sticks and tater tots a nutritious meal and cold bowls of cereal for breakfast! He wasn't bathed regularly and his fingernails were longer than mine. His hair greasy and dirty. I have to wash all of his clothes because they smell bad. He didn't even have a pillowcase on his pillow. They removed his cable and he couldn't watch tv. They have birds and they don't even have food... a new resident told me she started buying food for them. I will be reviewing on google with pictures of that mess. This place is not what it seems! I regret every day our dad was there!s

Please don't choose this facility

We did quite a bit of research and thought this was a good place for our loved one. We were wrong. The staff does not ensure each resident has basic needs of life, including food. My father was loosing weight and it was quite a while before we learned that the staff lost his dentures! No one ever questioned this, nor did they do anything so he could eat. They also didn't even try to get him up to walk around and just left him either in bed or in a chair. He ended up with a bed sore. There is absolutely no communication from this facility unless myself or a family member called and asked very specific questions. When we brought this to the attention of the director, his response was to redirect and try to blame us for things totally unrelated and unfounded. Please don't make the same mistake we did.
