My mom was here for a couple of years and her long term care insurance began to run out, so I got a bit behind, but was paying the $4368 a month plus $700 additional each month per a written contract they came up with and asked me to sign!! I kept my end of the deal but the witch running the office stated that per Corprate office the balance needed to be paid immediately so I called corporate and they said they did not say that, a bit later I get a call from the lady at corporate saying that the lady at brookdale Easley was going to report me for abuse against my mother, whom I love dearly and have dedicated myself to caring for. There is nor was ever any abuse, I told her they had damn well have hardcore proof before they said it again or my lawyer would be sending a cease and desist letter preventing them from their slander. I completely saw red!!! My mom has always been taken care of and respected! Be careful if your family member is there under long term insurance because once it’s up they treat you like the trash of the earth! It’s all about money and appearances!!! BEWARE!!!!

Parents lived here. Not impressed. Staff is helpful only when applying for residency. Almost like a Hospice situation. WAY too expensive for the quality of the facility and care. You can do better. Keep shopping.

We recently moved my grandmother into the facility after a 3-week hospital stay and she was placed under hospice care. Immediately (as in within minutes) following my parents' final meetings with and selection of Brookdale Easley for my grandmother, someone employed at this specific location (Easley Brookdale) began conducting extensive research on me via Linked In, my company website, Facebook and other forms of social media. This is how I found out what facility they'd chosen for my grandmother - because an employee of the facility (Brookdale Easley) was researching me and I was notified by several sites. I reached out to my parents and they confirmed they'd just left Brookdale Easley after signing paperwork for more than 2 hours. I do not live in the state where my grandmother was placed, I was never involved in the meetings with Brookdale nor did my name come up during conversations at the facility. I do not know anyone who works in the facility and I am not in any way financially responsible for the decisions regarding or the costs of my grandmother's care there. When I reached out to this individual about the inquiry, she indicated that I was suggested randomly by social media. Being that I do not live in the same state, do not have the same occupation as her and have zero mutual connections/friends, nor had I even heard of Brookdale until she popped up, I found her response to be highly unlikely. I find it highly inappropriate that someone at Brookdale would conduct such extensive and intrusive research into the irrelevant background of a family member who did not attend any sales meetings, whose name is not on any paperwork and who is 100% not financially responsible for the decisions regarding or the cost of care for a family member who's moving to Brookdale.

Management hides in their offices or is gone. They were SO bubbly, friendly and nice to us BEFORE we moved in, but then once we were in, they completely ignored us except to send us a monthly bill. VERY BORING activities. No family involvement or activities are ever encouraged. Marginal meals. Drastically understaffed, poor attitudes, with NO time to spend with residents on QUALITY of their life. Management and staff just did NOT CARE about residents or their families! Med mix ups and ordering issues. Residents were ALWAYS bored, wandering, sitting ignored and lifeless. Turnover of staff was constant. Care was FAR less than promised- even the very basics were neglected. Lacks professionalism and warmth. Needs a real good cleaning! Our father hated every minute he was there. WE ARE THRILLED, DELIGHTED, & 100% GLAD TO BE GONE! RUN! Look elsewhere!

Terrible - from top to bottom. No staff, there might be two people in the whole building. They didn't do any cleaning. The food was horrid. It was wheeled in steam carts from other buildings. There were 28 people in one building and 20 of them don't talk, so it was completely dead in there.

I would give Richmond Heights Place negative stars if it were an option. I would not recommend or refer anyone to this facility. They went downhill fast and this is the reason we moved my loved one to [facility name removed]. When you start off, they tell you as your love ones condition (dementia) begins to deteriorate they will need to move them to full care. What they don't tell you is that your bill will go up like $[removed] a month. The staff just let the residents sit there, it's just sad for the money you pay.

A Place for Mom recommended Villa Pueblo. Biggest mistake of my life. Management can be abusive especially if you ask for something to be fixed. Food is increasingly getting worse. Now they only serve 2 meals a day and you have to call in for room service by 11:00 am or 4:00pm to be served. Problem is no one answers phone. My advice is to stay away from here.

This assisted living home is an utter chaos and the people living there are suffering. The executive Director is a monster. She ran off the old executive Director and propped herself up for the position. She ran off the chef who really cared about the people. The next chef left after working two days because she is such a monster. The food is in chaos and the people hate it. She ran off the medical Director who was working hard and doing a good job. She over works people and then yells and screams at them. I would not go there for anything.

My 85 yr old, went into GHS/PRISMA Hosp system. He fell, had issues that Prisma, couldn't identify. He was there a Month. We sent him to a place he was at previously, little de we know how it had changed. Covid shutdown, I'm sure papa felt like a kitten dropped off at a fire dept. It wasn't 2 or 3 days, papa had to call US @ HOME FOR HELP! - ON THE BEDS IN THAT EVIL PLACE NO PHONES, NO NURSE CALL BUTTONS! PaPa had to call us @ h. 4 help! We had to call from our hm, to get an ambulance to take PaPa to Easley Baptist (Prisma Health). Called around 2:30am, we called our daughter, & son to meet us there. All of us dressed up from our heads to our feet, stood there, & WATCHED HIM DIE!!! It wasn't GHS/ PRISMA, OR EASLEY Baptist, aka as PRISMA. IT WAS EASLEY PLACE! THEY'VE HAVE HAD 3 NEW OWNERS, NEW STAFF, ETC. This 85 yr old man, a Marine, etc. Went in there ok, & DIED! NEVER SEND ANYONE U LOVE THERE! IT'S CHANGED!

Nursing staff are rude especially the ADCS. She is constantly talking down to family members that approach her or even call to check on their loved ones. The entire nursing staff seem to be in a state of panic and are very disorganized. I truly do not know how they received a 5- star rating.

Hello, we moved my Mom to this facility because she has dimensia but they allowed her to keep her beloved dog. However, after two months we had to move her again. The staff is lazy and not trained to deal with dimensia no matter what they say. The in-house medical support was lame at best. The Executive Director left as we moved Mom. I would never recommend this facility. Find a better facility which is actually prepared to deal with memory care and not just advertise it. Mom's new facility is much better although no dog. She doesn't remember her dog so the best case is do the right thing for your loved one but it is not Brookdale, in any of their facilities!

Read "miserable" again and again! They cover very well what does and does not go on here. The one thing that was missed was the lack of food. Two months ago our food choices were cut by more than a half. The quality of the food borders on garbage, lunch entrees of nothing more than soup and at dinner cold sandwiches. Staff claims they do not have enough money for food. Even serving size has been cut back by at least one-third. Most of the residents, including myself, go to bed hungry. Read "miserable" again and run for your life!

My relative moved in here in the summer of '13. What a mistake! There are constant problems. Not a week goes by that I do not have to go there to deal with problems with staff, nursing, management. Most serious: they have had a bed bug infestation for over six months. It seems they have treated it now (professional exterminators), but still have "bug dishes" around all furniture legs. Troubling to say the least! when my relative was all bitten up from bedbugs, they tried to claim "it was a rash". It wasn't. It was bug bites. Food is very poor quality. The facility is set up into 5 smaller cottages with 24 residents each. This is OK -- I like the smaller cottages. But it means food is cooked centrally in another building and trundled in. It is often lukewarm, and looks & tastes reheated. Residents are VERY unhappy with food -- complaints go unanswered. So much food is inedible and just sent back -- the WASTE must be incredible. The actual service is even worse -- 2 overworked girls to set up, prep, serve and bus tables and then clean up. This means people served helter-skelter and sometimes are forgotten! They even run out of coffee. It's a disaster. The menus are posted but not followed. They promise 3 snacks a day, but frequently there is NOTHING. Nursing care is very substandard. With so many buildings, the nurses go from building to building -- never are there when you need them. My relative has been left sick, with no attention. I've found pills spilled on the FLOOR. Medications are misordered, or forgotten. They can't seem to use the pharmacy on her Medicare plan! They order tests or meds without telling family. It is very troubling. General hygiene is good (if you can ignore the insect infestation). Building is shabby; they have promised remodeling but its never happened. Furniture is old and mismatched. The central "rehab center" looks lovely but they've let the other AL cottages get run down. We've been waiting 18 months now for the promised renovations! Laundry is good; comes back folded and put away....but my relative is often left in dirty clothing for as long as a week. Nobody seems to check or care. There are only 2 aides in the building at any time, and with 2 floors, often nobody around. (And those poor ladies have to run dishwashers, set up for meals, SERVE and clean up too!) They do their best, but it is impossible for 2 people to run a 2 story cottage with 24 residents. I suspect my relative is not really being showered twice a week, as it often looks like her hair is unwashed. Activities are spotty at best. They don't seem to even KNOW how to organize activities for dementia patients (and certainly NOT for more active cognizant seniors!). They will post an activity, then not have it. This is very confusing for my relative. Trips off the premises have been troubled, as they go to confusing places (a CASINO?) or places that are not handicapped accessible. One restaurant had no handicapped bathroom facility! Though the building my relative is in was labeled "Assisted Living", in fact at least 20 of 24 people have dementia at some level. Some are so bad off, they should be in Dementia buildings. The problem is, if your family member needs friends, company, stimulation -- and they have all or most of their mental faculties -- it is very depressing to be in with a majority of people who cannot function or even have a conversation. This is REALLY hard on the residents in my relative's building who are mentally fine, but just have mobility issues. Be sure you check this out. The cottage set up SHOULD be used to keep similarly abled residents together, so they can socialize. I am close enough to visit several times a week, but I know most family simply cannot do this. Because of this, I really SEE what goes on from day to day! and 90% of the time, it is a dozen or more residents, parked in wheelchairs in front of one smallish TV -- sometimes running just a loop of commercials! -- and no talking, no activities, just staring into space. This is about as depressing as Assisted Living can possibly get -- definitely NOT the picture any of these places paint for you in their literature! Rooms are large studios (about 350 square feet) with nice large closets, and large full private bathroom -- large vanities, too, and a linen closet. Nicest bathrooms of all we've seen, actually. But only one room, so tough if your family member has a lot of furnishings. There is a tiny dorm fridge and microwave. Some suites at the rear have nice wooded views. Note: if you cannot visit frequently, I would worry very much about the care here for a frail senior with memory issues. And it won't be a stimulating environment for anyone whose mind is active. Lastly: they have had TWO price increases in the last 12 months! over 10% overall.

Please do not put anyone you know in here. Our experience was when we walked in the smell of urine was unreal. No one knew when we were there, when we left if our loved on left with us or not. My loved one was in a wing that they shut down due to not taking Medicaid anymore. They told us to higher a moving company or else we had to come and move it. We did not know they were infested with bed bugs and my loved one had rashes on her arm due to the bed bugs. They let my loved one sleep on the couch with the bed bugs on it. We were unable to move anything. I know many people that have pulled their loved ones from the community. The way the situation was handled was horrible.

I had an awful experience at Villa Pueblo. 3 weeks after I moved in, my apartment was flooded with about an inch of water. I reported it 3 times and no one listened 3 days later someone came up to suck up the water. I fell out of my wheelchair and the staff came in and I told them I needed help and he said that it was not his job so I had to call 911 to help me up. The bathrooms are extremely small and are not wheelchair accessible. I fell and I pulled the string for help and no one came to help me for a long time. It was not a friendly environment. I would not recommend them to others who are looking.
