Independent Living

Independent Living Communities provide individuals with a convenient harmony between an opportunity to live an independent lifestyle and not having to concern themselves with housekeeping. Frequent needs such as housekeeping and the scheduling of social activities are accounted for, allowing occupants more opportunities to live life as they see fit. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy an opportunity to be among peers, in a community with others of similar ages and interests. Residents’ quarters consist of private living spaces, each with their own kitchen. The independence of apartment life is still enjoyed, offering opportunities to socialize with guests and visitors in a private and personal setting. While policies vary between locations, many residences allow cats and dogs as well. If medical or nursing care is desired, residents may always enlist the services of independent care providers. There are a number of advantages and costs to keep in mind when selecting an independent living community. It is important to figure out if these amenities are included in the plan: internet access, private phone, cable TV, meals, move-in fee, housekeeping, Waiting list deposit, and field trips. The benefits associated with independent living include restaurant-style dining hall, transportation, private rental hall, community activities, concierge services, laundry service, game/TV room, and golf course.
