When my husband was 93 years of age he needed occupational care. After visiting several communities it seemed that The Delaney would fit our needs. So on my 90th birthday in [date removed] we moved to Assisted Living at The Delaney. We were certainly satisfied with the care arrangement but after 1.5 years at the Delaney my husband of 72 years passed away. I then moved to Independent Living at The Delaney because I didn't need Assisted Living. Now I am glad to go for meals in the Dining room, have weekly housekeeping, take part in many activities or visit with friends-or just relax in my apartment and work on my family history. After four years of residence I am still enjoying peace of mind, satisfaction and protection in living here.... Read more

From the warm greeting at the front desk to- the amazing dining and wonderful lifestyle and enrichment program, this is the best retirement community in the area!! The residents call it "living in a resort" or a "cruise ship on land!" It is a 10/5!!
I am searching for my parents. The Delaney certainly lived up to their reviews. The staff was so friendly and the community is beautiful. The residents all said how much they love living there and the food looks and smells fabulous.

[name removed] the intake coordinator was absolutely wonderful. She kept up and would check in with me all the way until my dads passing. I was very impressed with her and this facility.
This was an amazing retirement community a few years ago. However, constant staff turnover, poor food quality and preparation, staff members that are either spread too thin or improperly trained... sad to see it go downhill. My mother's wedding ring was stolen and a fellow resident was caught going through her medicine bottles in her private restroom. The new director is equal parts arrogant and incompetent...I simply cannot recommend this facility any longer...
This facility has gone downhill over the last year dramatically. The turnover is constant at every level including the executive Director. The communication is terrible at this place end it begins with [name removed], the new executive director. He complains about being too busy and doing three jobs and therefore he cannot address emails or phone calls. It is a constant blame game and no one has held accountable for anything. The response time when you press your pendant can be up to 45 minutes and that is assuming you have a pendant. The food has gone downhill drastically and the residents had to wait a very long time for their food and everyone was served at different times due to the shortage of the stuff. I would strongly suggest you find a safer place for your loved one and don’t be fooled by the beautiful building and the friendly recruitment. My parents are both moved out and in much better places where the staff truly care for the residence. It is a shame because this place had potential.
I visited Delaney to check it out for my 93 year old mom. [name removed] was so helpful, kind and patient in introducing me to every aspect of the community, and clearly answered all my questions. She even gave me new perspectives to consider, to help our family know when the right time might be to make the transition. The facility is clean, fresh and has everything you could want. I appreciated that the whole place felt calm and relaxed.
Mom is shifting from independent living to assisted living and I think when I was first interviewing, I was mistaken on some things. The staff has been just wonderful, they are really meeting mom and getting to know her and what her needs are. The food is truly wonderful and she really enjoys the meals. I would recommend independent living if you are truly independent, but I am not sure on the assisted living portion of the facility just yet.
Many thanks to The Delaney for allowing us to experience a few days of Independent Living. The facility itself is very well kept, the apartment well appointed. We were able to manage quite well in a one bedroom apartment but learned that we will need a two bedroom in we make the move-so the short 'staycation'' was very beneficial in helping us understand our needs. The staff was very accommodating and friendly and the food was really very good. But the most important selling point for the Delaney was the residents themselves. Although several had said that leaving their home was the hardest thing they had ever done, to a person they agreed that they were happy they had made the move and now knew it Independent Living at the Delaney was right for them. Based on our experience and the testimonials of the residents, I am not surprised the The Delaney has received the J D Power Award for Excellence in Customer Satisfaction for the last two years.
The have doctor's on site more often than other communities. It has central air condition which was impressive and made it feel more like an apartment. The sales director was impressive, and engaging. The staff is diverse. The drawbacks were the price was too high for us and was more than one story.
We went with The Delaney because of the medical staff and attention that we knew that she would get. The on site staff members here pay very close attention to mom which has been amazing. The food looks good and it seems that they have some great selections on the menu. The architectural design is great, my mom is not bumping into things and things like that so we are pleased with that aspect of it. I would recommend to others looking.
Only independent living available. Did not receive brochure. Person I spoke to was very easy to speak with. Did not see any residents moving around in the facility. Very quiet in hallways.
I would suggest you look at other places and then decide. If it wasn't for the food situation, I would probably highly recommend it. Due to the food situation I would hesitate. The community sends out the menu, and the food is rarely what is what was described on the menu. The flavor is mediocre at best, and poor at it's worst. It is also the way it is cooked. It seems to be over salted sometimes super salty.
The Delaney was very nice. It was new. It seemed a little empty. It was a huge place, with lots of facilities. The food was wonderful, and the dining room was like a restaurant. But it was very expensive, and I didn’t like that it was far away from me.
Our loved one did not stay long after initially moving in, but our experience was fantastic. We love the Delaney and everything that they have to offer. The staff members were very supportive to our family as well as our loved one. We have nothing bad to say, we would absolutely recommend the community. They helped us get our loved one on hospice, and they truly bent over backwards for us.
We are looking for a place for my mom who is very active and engaging but is also advanced in her Alzheimer's. We found the community lovely but the residents seemed to be not as active as what my mom is and therefore not being a right fit for her now.
The staff were always friendly; however, I don't think they were genuine. I would say not to put your loved ones there. Due to medication issues with the residents from the staff. I would for sure tell you no if your loved one has to deal with medication. This wouldn't be my response during my loved one's stay. There was no inventory control of the medication for residents.
