I would highly recommend it. I think there were tons of activities that my mother in law didn't take advantage of. She's not real social. Charter has a lot to offer for social enrichment. We picked this community, because of the convenient location and we knew someone who had been there.

A beloved 99 year-old friend was at Charter in Level 3 care (bed bound requiring complete care) for the last year. Thankfully she has just been moved. I gather that the care for persons who can care for themselves there is adequate -- reported from another friend there who is able to advocate for herself. I would NEVER recommend this place for someone who needs complete care. The nursing/nursing assistant care was perfunctory. No love there. Often the wait was 30 minutes or longer when the call bell was rung. Only the dietary and maintenance folks seemed to connect lovingly with my friend who is lucid. The place was FILTHY when we moved her. It looked like the bed sheets had not been changed in weeks and the dust was 3/4 inch thick behind things and under the bed. THe food was awful -- some gray meat and potatoes at every dinner. We were very hopeful that Charter would meet the needs of my dear friend and were very disappointed.

This facility is not equipped to handle people who need assistance with mobility, especially those using walkers or wheelchairs. They don't have help call buttons. I don't think the staff in general is very trained, some are wonderful and some are not. The Director is wonderful, but she can't be there all the time.
My grandmother is from Iran and she doesn't understand English and lives there for 12 years and recently I have asked for permit parking, because i am out of town and came to be with my grandmother over the holiday and the lady who works there and think she is the president of united state refuse to give me parking permit, her name is (name removed) and she told the resident has to have title, and she also refused to give me a general contract lease, her customer service to other people is very bad as I was watching that other residents have the same problem and not answering their email or phone call! Not recommended to any elderly people to come because the people who works in senior living must have sense of humanity and best customer service to senior who needs care the most

July 16, 2022Hello, Thank you for your review. We take pride in what we do and when families of residents take the time to comment on our performance, it means so much. Donna Collier Senior Executive Director Charter Senior Living of Towson
We like the fact it is a smaller scale community so you are able to get to know the nurses and care givers much easier. Everybody was super friendly and we do believe our loved one received the best care possible especially towards the end. It is a tough job trying to coordinate activities but we do believe they did their absolute best

April 21, 2022Hello, Thank you for the 5-star review! I am so glad we exceeded your expectations and that you feel your loved one received the best care. The best compliment we can receive is from a satisfied, happy family knowing that their loved one was well taken care of. Stay well and let us know if we can be of any assistance in the future, Donna Collier Executive Director Charter Senior Living of Towson
The lady who I worked with during our tour and after the fact was very pleasant and I enjoyed working with her. The facility did not have showers in the rooms in memory care and that is something that we had to have.

April 21, 2022Hello, Thank you for your review. We do not have showers in our memory care apartments for safety reasons, but I do understand that this is important to you. If we can be of any assistance to you in the future, please let us know. Thank you, Donna Collier Executive Director Charter Senior Living of Towson
We really loved our mothers apartment, it is ADA complaint and with her being in a wheelchair the shower is very easy to get into, you can just go right in and there is a sit down chair. The community itself is a very modern ADA complaint community. The activities are incredible and you can really tell the employees there are happy.

October 25, 2021Hi Tricia, Thank you for your glowing review of the community and staff! We absolutely love having mom, and you, a part of our Charter Family. Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on how we are doing. Stay well, Donna
Charter Senior Living Towson has been working out fine. The food is quite acceptable. We did have an incident where our loved one had to be put on meds for an inappropriate outburst towards the staff, but considering her condition, she's just not her normal self. But overall we've been happy with the facility and the level of care they provide.

They were really trying to sell us. They were only showing us the high life side of the facility and we did not get a good feel.

They have taken all of my loved ones favorite foods and provide a special menu just for him. I am very happy that they took the time to give him what he likes specifically. They have a lot of activities my loved one does not participate but they always try to get him involved.

September 22, 2021Hi Carol, Thank you for your 5 star review! I am so glad that we have exceeded your expectations and that your loved one is thriving at our community. It is a pleasure partnering with you. Stay well, Donna
This was a very good location. This facility has very good reviews and it was a lovely facility. We were stuck between this facility and another one and we just so happen to go with another. They were very friendly people.
I have nothing positive to say about our tour of Charter. The facility is very institutional, the memory care residents are all locked on the second floor and have no outside area. When we walked around the residents were all just sitting there and looked incoherent as if they were heavily medicated.

We had a virtual tour, but I wished we could have gone in person. Because of the virtual tour, we didn’t get to see too much of it, but from what we did see, I didn’t like it. It seemed kind of dark and dingy, and the room was gray. The main reason we didn’t like it was our loved one would have had to share a bathroom. What interested me in them in the first place was I liked their network of doctors and had a good experience with them before.
It is a little expensive for what you are getting such as food prep. The extra care that my loved one receives is good, and they are happy here. The grounds are well kept and very inviting. Anyone I've talked to have been friendly. Since Charter has taken over, the communication hasn't been as good. They have been slow to get paperwork updated, and information about COVID.

Our loved one has a really nice sized apartment, his is the only one that size. Overall the apartments are a decent size, and the community is located not far from a major hospital. We would recommend this community to others.

I've had to get private care givers for my loved one. I am not pleased with this community. I am thinking I might be taking my loved one out of the community due to me having to pay for private care at this community. I wish they would have told me about the symptoms of the memory care that my loved has. I am only able to see my loved one for 30 minutes every 5 days.

After visiting on [date removed], meeting with several members of the staff, and then seeing the spacious studio he would be living in, complete with bathroom and kitchenette, we decided that very day to have my brother transferred to Brookdale next week. We were extremely impressed with [names removed] who imparted not only professionalism but empathy and enthusiasm! We left there feeling so happy that he would be cared for compassionately and in a lovely environment!

A Place for Mom has scored Charter Senior Living Towson 8.7 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
