Sunrise at Fountain Square was also excellent but more expensive than Bloomingdale. The outside of the independent living at the Lombard location looked like little houses. So adorable. I was unaware that each Sunrise location has different pricing. All of the senior were out and about congregating and it felt like a little community. They also had snacks available for residents whenever they wanted them. I was very impressed.

Sunrise at Fountain Square has been the perfect place for Mom! She has made many new friends, is busy with bingo, exercise class and happy hour! The only downfall is she is worried about gaining weight because of the great meals! The staff has taken great care of Mom and met all her needs. She is wheelchair-bound so needs assistance with showering, toileting, getting out of bed in the morning and dressed. The staff knows her preferences and is always willing to help with a smile! Highly recommend this facility.

Sunrise at Fountain Square is fantastic. I love it. It's very, very nice. My parents love it there, too. They check up on them, they make sure everything's fine and going through this whole COVID situation and everything, they're very proactive. If anybody had COVID, they would start taking tests and everything like that. They keep a nice distance, but they keep a nice watchful eye on them. They have a two-bedroom with a full kitchen and everything, but they don't even use the kitchen that much because they use the meals that are supplied by Sunrise. The dining area is very nice. They have a nice fireplace down there. It's on the first floor and it outlooks to a nice little garden area and the service there is fantastic. The food is very good. There are lots of choices. They do a very good job with maintenance and upkeep. They repainted everything and redid the carpeting before they moved in. Everything is very up-to-date and very clean. You name it, they have it.

My father stayed at a previous Sunrise. I like this new building and the bigger resident rooms.[name removed] took us on a tour and was very nice. My mom, brother, and I stayed for an hour and a half, and we had a very positive feeling after our visit.

Sunrise is at the top of our list of senior living communities we re considering moving to in 9 mos. We enjoyed the tour, had all of our questions answered and enjoyed talking to the head chef. If is a beautiful community and the residents look very happy being there.

Her place is lovely and she has really adjusted well. The only complaint have heard from mom is the food, it is not great and needs more options. Fresher ingredients and healthier options.

We had a good tour experience with Sunrise at Fountain Square but the apartments were super small and more expensive than other places we saw that had larger apartments.
Assisted living was nice, but memory care, which we were looking for, was separate and not as nice. It seemed really nice for general assisted living, but not so much for memory care.
Our family had an in person tour and the lady who gave the tour was very nice and informational but the community was just to expensive. We also go very confused on the tour with all the different floors we felt like we just kept going up and down and were getting lost. We did not like the layout of the rooms, and the community just seemed to be not as bright. The wood tones were darker, the lighting was darker and just to dim.
I would say absolutely sign your loved one up and get them in there as soon as you can! Everybody was friendly. When you walk into a place like that, you expect a certain smell, but there was none of that. It smelled like they were making homemade cookies. Everyone was so o nice, and they took the proper Covid precautions, including requiring masks. The nursing staff was helpful, even if it wasn't a nurse assigned specifically to my mom. The food was okay, pretty good for the setting. The only gripe I have is I was charged a several thousand dollar move-in cost, and we had to move ourselves in entirely. They didn't even have a dolly for us to use. Also, the people who live there were walking in the hallways, so if you were standing there with a heavy piece of furniture, you had to wait for them to move out of the way. I would have expected for that move-in fee for someone to at least hold the door for us and clear the way. Aside from that move-in fee, the cost was good for the care they provided to my mom.

I would tell others to definitely try and schedule the move in when people are not walking in the hallways and while someone is there to open doors with you. You do have to move in through the front of the building so it can get clustered. They also charge a hefty move in fee as well. It was not a good experience while moving in.

Our family had a virtual tour and it was a good experience, but our loved one just did not like the location of the community.
The staff is very polite and helpful, and really balances the needs of the residence. My loved one's health has improved dramatically since moving in. The community is honest and treats the families well and will adjust pricing up and down based on the care needed. The food is wonderful and they have lots of options. The community is also pet-friendly. I would recommend this community to others.
