Very Pleased With Our Choice

One of my friends is a chaplain for Baylor, and she directed me to A Place for Mom, which ultimately got me to Mirabella. I would tell others you would be very pleased with the friendliness of the staff and their understanding of your patient's needs. It's a comfortable place to be in. We have been very, very pleased that we've chosen Mirabella for our family member. They have absolutely gone out of their way to make her happy and to make our family happy. If we ask for something, they do it almost immediately. In fact, I could see myself living there. I would give [name removed], who interviews prospective residents, an A+. She held an apartment for us for three days while we were trying to convince our family member that she needed to move. Tour of Mirabella

We toured Mirabella Living & Memory care; it was very dark and old. We chose another community because Mirabella wouldn't have been a good fit for my loved one.

I liked Mirabella Living. I thought it was a very beautiful place. The staff seemed nice. One thing I didn't particularly care for is they had a la carte pricing, so it was difficult to determine what the actually monthly price would be.

Mirabella Living was an older facility, and I found some of the rooms a little crowded/small.

A Great Place for Mom

We've been very happy with them. Everyone there is friendly and seems to really care. They've taken really good care of my mom. She can be fairly picky when it comes to food, but she actually tells me the food is pretty good.

Tour of Mirabella

Mirabella is definitely one of the older memory care facilities in the area. The people were all very nice, but they only offered semi-private rooms which was not going to work for my mom.

Don't send your loved one here, I do not recommend

I would want others to know that we had major issues here. The day of the move I checked her out of rehab, I could not leave because the facility did not have doctors orders. They had a week to get these and we had to wait around for 5 hours. Once we got her to the facility, the rehab place did not release medications, I had filled paperwork out for all of that weeks before. So she had no medications when we got there. She could not get a mailbox key for 2 weeks so she had no access to her mail. My mom was told by one of the aids if she could not sit up to get out of bed, she needed to move to a nursing home. Remind you, they assessed her before she moved in and said they could provide her level of needs. There were a couple awesome CNAs here, but we had a CNA tell my brother that she couldn't help my mom because she might injure her neck, my mother was only 84 pounds at the time. We had a CNA who wanted to put the potty chair next to the bed rather than over the toilet, they did not want to put any effort to help her move. The toilets were also stopped up from feces and toilet paper for 20 hours. Once fixed, they left feces all over the toilet seat. I called to get this taken care of and it took another day to get the issue resolved. She missed a whole week of therapy because they said I did not fill out the paperwork, when I picked up my paperwork, I got my own copy and i filled that out a week prior. I had them pull the file out and it was in there, so they did not look. My mom asked the morning staff to put her shoes on, they said they did not want to so my mom went without shoes even though therapy wanted her to have shoes on. Overall, we had a very poor experience with Mirabella and the staff members here. If you need extra care and are not able to get around on your own and feed yourself, I would not recommend.

Not a good place

My mom moved and didn't get the therapy services she needed for a week. They came out and did their assessment, accepted her, and then didn't have any of the paperwork ready and we waited five hours with in my sitting in wheelchair. Finally, we got her in and it took an hour to get a caregiver to come help my mom. A few days later, my sister was there and a comment was made by a caregiver that if she couldn't sit up on her own, she shouldn't be there at all. There were a few nice caregivers, however, I would never recommend this place to another family.

Exercise Classes Needed to stay healthy and mobile

They need to have more exercise opportunities on a regular basis and some type of rehab equipment. My Mother lived at [removed] which is now [removed]. She enjoyed the exercise classes every day.and it helped her stay mobile. She moved because she needs more assistance rather than just retirement. MiraBella has one class a week for 30 min and many times the man that leads it ,doesn't show up.

Mirabella Review

I can not say enough for "A Place for Mom", they helped us find a place for mom. Extremely helpful, resourceful, and a pleasure to work with. After reviewing many different facilities for mom we finally found Mirabella. It is clean, the people are friendly and courteous. The other folks in Mirabella are happy with smiles on their faces. They offer many different activities for members to do both internal and external. The dining area is clean and everyone is treated as if it were a restaurant. They even cover every table with a table cloth and set up the silverware. They treat everyone with respect and the proper care they need. I can tell you this is the kind of place I would like to be when I get older.

At first they try super hard to be friendly and helpful but as soon as you sign on with them, they are hard to get a hold of. The patient staff are nice and friendly most of the time but upper management not so much.

Nad neglectful danagerest practices for your love ones

This is the worse senior center I have ever seen!! Danagerest practices. They leave their residents at stores, doctors etc alone for hours and hours, some residents not able to be alone like this, panicking. When r they going to be picked up? Where do they wait to be picked up? What door did I come in? How do I pay for my items? These r some of the panicking questions they ask The activity director and/or assistant's job is to go with them to stores, events etc. If they could be alone in a big store, etc they wouldn't be in the nursing home. They r suppose to wear name badges, they do not. Sad

Appealing Location, Clean Community

Initially, the location of Mirabella Really appealed to me. I also appreciate that they seem to have a variety in the meals available there, rather than as in an institutional environment where only one option is served at mealtimes. I also feel that the place seems clean. It's well maintained, and there isn't an odor about the community. I think that overall, the staff is attentive to my loved one. There have been times where I feel they could have been more efficient, but overall, I feel they do a good job. I would recommend Mirabella to others.
