I picked this community, mainly due to the salesperson overpromising things that were really important to me. As soon as we got in the underdelivering began. I was very frustrated and disappointed but, moving my mom again was not an option

The nurse at the time was very unpersonable. The management should have been more upfront about being short staffed ( and other things). When I got back from my trip I arranged with the management for him to move to Broomfield. The nurse in Broomfield was unprepared and annoyed. Nor was the room available that we had originally signed the contract for. Within the 1st week we had to go in for a meeting about his poor care...ie) he is diabetic and had strokes. At 11am he had not been gotten up yet. He was sitting on side of his bed in wet briefs with his breakfast unopened in the kitchen area out of reach. Another night had slept all night on a mattress had thrown up on. I was planning on bringing him home but he got a UTI infection and was sent to hospital then rehab. 2 other residents also went to hospital that same day. After that I brought him home no one followed up with me. It also took a long time and a few calls to get some necessary paperwork that I needed. The facility was beautiful and some of the staff were good but overall I felt the management cared more about their business than the residents. I also know other residents who had similar complaints about personal care. In their defense I understood the staffing issues were partly due to Covid. Should not have to worry about their loved ones care in an expensive facility. My husband has since passed away.

We toured Legend at Broomfield during our search for a Memory Care facility for our loved one. Our tour was very good. Based off of our tour, this facility seemed very good. The cleanliness and friendliness was good. However, my loved one chose a different facility due to them having more excursions.

July 17, 2023This is not Legend Standard. We would like to hear more about your experience to ensure it is not repeated. Please give us a call at 877-877-3892. We look forward to hearing from you.
Legend was excellent. It was significantly cheaper. It was my second choice. The memory care unit only had about 10 residents. I felt it lacked a quality social atmosphere as none of the residents I met were able to converse. They had great mental development focus. The facility is beautiful and the staff seemed good. Since they manage assisted living as well as memory care, I didn't feel they were as well designed to handle memory care.

April 7, 2023Scott, thank you for taking the time to leave us a review! We appreciate your feedback and will send it along. Thank you for taking the time to tour Legend at Broomfield!
I took my mother out of Legend at Broomfield after just a month. During that month, she fell at least 3 times and twice was sent to the ER with staples or stitches for serious wounds. They could not guarantee me that they would care for her and watch her closely. It is a beautiful place -we looked at several facilities and thought this was the best fit. We were so excited when we moved her in, but it turned out to be disappointing experience.

February 27, 2023Cindy, thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We appreciate your feedback and will pass it along.
If you dislike your parent, then send them here. Legend will ignore your parent, not serve an appetizing meal nor will they clean your apartment. Activities are not offered in memory care. Legend is always short staffed. Management and corporate will not help. Please stay far from here. Look elsewhere. 5 star reviews are from employees. I had a parent that was neglected here. Much happier since I moved him out.

Response from Legend at Broomfield
February 21, 2023Thank you for your feedback. We apologize for the frustration you experienced. This does not live up to our standards at Legend Senior Living and we will pass along your message.
There was a lot of overpromising and underdelivering. Anything that is stated in the sales process to verify exact data on. For example when I asked does your place take them to different things they want to do. But when it came down to it after speaking to the activities director after she was enrolled. They said no they don't take anyone when there is only one person. It was within the five mile difference, but since her mass service is not on the 10-2 time scale they would not take her as promised at initial time of setup. Another thing that was very unhappy about is she has a dog, and first question was can she walk the dog in the inner courtyard. The salesman said yes absolutely she can but when she moved in again was not allowed to take her dog out in the courtyard. She must walk her dog outside in the complex but there are critters and other animals that distract her dog when she is outside of the inner courtyard. The activities program has improved over the course of time. That part is improving and they have started getting more activities. Nurses have been amazing for the one's I have come in contact with so far. The friendliness is very critical to me and feel there is a genuine love and concern and feel there is a disconnect there with the general staffing. Don't believe my feels well connected to the community and staffing as of yet.

The everyday staff working with my grandmother went above and beyond and were so helpful and friendly. The management was really hard to work with and they were not very friendly at all. My grandmother ended up falling multiple times here and they didn't think to give any extra watch to her and she ended up in the hospital. I would not recommend Legend at Broomfield to other families based off of our experience.

We had a great tour experience with Legend at Broomfield. For us, the location was too far away and we felt the facility was going to be too large for our loved one.

The community is beautiful and I feel the residents are well taken care of. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the food looks good. I would recommend this community to others based on my experience

We toured Legend at Broomfield and really like the facility. The only reason we did not choose them was because during covid they were wanting to place my dad in assisted living for 14 days to quarantine rather than memory care and he would have just walked out.
My mother has been with the community in the memory care facility at the Legend at Broomfield for over two years now. The staff have been amazing, comforting, and helpful particularly over the past year. My mom has had her ups and downs over the past two years and the staff have helped me through it all. Prior to COVID I enjoyed being able to visit with staff and participants and the activities were amazing! The food is great and I would often join her for meal time! I am looking forward to that again. The staff have helped me through this journey and are now helping me through hospice for her end of life care and needs. The facility is lovely and the staff are friendly and welcoming. I have appreciated their help and support. My mother is comfortable and happy. It brings me comfort to see her face light up when the staff walk into her room:)

Make sure you get contact info and know who your contacts are. From what I have seen the community is clean. Communication could be better between the staff and our family I would recommend this community to others. I have the impression they could provide more care based on the initial care plan. Sometimes they overpromise that actual care they can provide

DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES HERE! There are too many instances to list on how bad our experience was with Legend. They have the rudest staff I have ever encountered ([names removed] even the corporate offices...the list goes on) They straight up lied us on multiple occasions and then tried to cover it up. Upon moving out, my loved one's room was disgusting. Moldy food containers were found around the room and it looked like nothing had been wiped down or cleaned in months. (We have pictures) Please do yourself a favor and steer clear of Legend of Broomfield. We could not get out of there fast enough. DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES HERE

From what we saw this cleanliness of this community was immaculate. This is a larger facility and it offered a lot of activities and a lot of different variety. It is a beautiful facility, and the staff just seemed to be happy there. All the staff members knew all the residents by their names. What also really impressed us was the guy who was in charge of marketing was very personable and he asked us questions to really get to know our loved one. He really went above and beyond for us.

My mother had Alzheimer's when she passed away in 2019. As you can imagine, this was a difficult time for the family and we only wanted the best for her. We traveled and visited many different places, had multiple family meetings, worried and hopeful. The Legend of Broomfield was our final selection and we couldn't have been more pleased. The really cared, and listened and took the best care of my mother the last few months of her life. They even looked after her cat, from time to time, when she escaped. Really a super group of people, because after all, that is what is most important.

Mom moved into the Reflections wing of the Legend a little over a year and a half ago. She settled right in, made friends and got involved with activities. The Legend provided activities for her that were unique and amazing. Mom went to a high school and played croquet!! The care staff watched over her and became as close as family. They became like family to all of us also. COVID has been difficult for all of us, including the staff at the Legend. Yet we continue to received updates on COVID, and what is going on at the Legend. The Legend is the only care facility in Broomfield that has had no COVID and no deaths. Our family takes peace in that. The Legend still has an open door policy for family members to call and discuss whatever their concerns are. That is critical to a place that cares for your loved one! If you are searching for a wonderful place for a family member, you don't need to look any further.
