Basic Care - Stay Involved

Most of the staff was very helpful....I felt they were understaffed though. The room was very clean, but I felt that bedding was not changed as often as it should have been. So, I would take care of that myself. Communication was fair. We were notified when there were issues, but they were inconsistent as to which family member they would call. Sometimes calling my sister, who lives out of state, and the time difference there delayed one of us locally having the info needing attention. The meals were good. This is a decent facility for a reasonable price. One very frustrating issue that kept occurring was the loss of clothing items. We grew to accept the situation and were thankful that at least there were clean clothes for my mom, even though they weren't always hers. They lost her wheelchair that was never located. We ended up having a wheelchair for her, but it wasn't what we had arranged for her. The replacement they offered wasn't as nice...heavy, difficult to fold. Frustrating situation.

Tour Review

Our family had an in person tour and the tour experience was fine but the community just had a very cooperate feel to it. When we arrived for the tour we were ignored for several minutes, and the staff that were there at the front desk were not approachable at all. They seemed to be very disorganized and chaotic which was not working in their favor The common areas were okay, but the rooms themselves were very dated, like extremely dated. The refrigerator that was in the room were saw looked like it belonged in the late 80s early 90s - it was a tacky brown color. The room we were shown was their respite room and that was supposed to be "nice" but it just felt dingy.

When I initially went there all the staff was very friendly and very tentative and helpful. I love the apartment that I put mom in. They've made a lot of changes there recently. New people and the old people leaving and not so sure all those choices are good because the old people actually were the helpful ones so I guess we will see what comes out of this. They did raise their prices which I thought was ridiculous, but what do you do it isn't like you can move. I also have another loved one here and he's under Medicaid. He just recently had a notice taped to his door that they will no longer use Medicaid because Medicaid dropped them for some reason. They didn't do what they were supposed to do. I'm not sure what that was, but he would have to move I believe he said in March or apply under a different program and hopefully he will get approved for that. Those kind of things are kind of concerning.

Friendly Place to Join a Community

This is a very friendly place. It is a community, and easy to make friends there. It is in an older building, and not fancy. This isn't upscale at all. They have some activities for the residents and are trying to get them back up after COVID. Northglenn Heights is good at protecting the residents with their COVID protocols.

This is a nice, well organized place. It has 125 assisted living apartments, well appointed. The studies are quite small. The residents seem to be on the older more feeble side than I've seen elsewhere. The place itself is also older, but clean. Activities good. Personal Transportation at extra cost but shuttle for shopping. $4,000 1 br. My friend would have to use Vet services for catheter. 1st level of assistance is $300 additional, includes medics and activity reminders. For actual assistance with transfers, and being taken to activities, $400 more above that. Grounds nice but not large out fancy. Surrounding city area a bit grungy. Pet friendly. She says 35% men and quite a few vets there. One lady I met says she's been there 21 years and likes it very much. No stoves in Assisted Living places.

Nice property but a little more dated than our favorites. Ate a meal there which was fair. Menu had no multiple choices. Did notice a slight institutional smell when first entering. Did not like the Northglenn area as much as [removed] and [removed]. Pricey compared to [removed], a nicer facility.

Not one of the best assisted living facilities for your loved ones

High staff turnover. Until recently, the residents were without bus service to run errands, go to grocery store, etc. for an extended period of time. Now, they have borrowed a bus and a driver from another facility. Food is frequently of poor quality and small in portion size, per relative who is currently a resident there.

Good afternoon, I hope your day is going well. My name is Shawn, and I work at the Milestone Support Center (located in Vancouver, WA). I apologize for the negative experience you had with this community. I have gone and shared this with our community and regional leadership team for further review. Staff turnover is a huge problem for many Senior Living communities. It is our mission to hire those who have a real passion and dedication to taking care of others. It was a challenge to be down a bus, but we are very fortunate to have the bus we have now. It allows us to transport residents to necessary appointments and fun activities. The portions of our meal are standard for other Assisted Living and Memory Support communities. If any resident wants extra food, they are more than welcome to do so. We do appreciate the feedback regarding the food. We will work on it to ensure that all residents can enjoy our food. If you wish to provide any additional details about your experience, please send the community a private Facebook message. I can then send it to the appropriate individuals. Thank you again, and have a great rest of your day. Shawn - Digital Marketing

Needs improvement

Currently things are stable for my parent. We feel the facility is understaffed in memory care, some of the staff may need further training to care for our loved ones, and there appears to be confusion and lack of communication among the staff. The memory care side could be cleaner and kept up, especially the floors and rooms, and there is not nearly enough daily activity for the individuals in memory care. When the weather is nice, it would be good for them to get out and get some fresh air and sun. Much of the staff is friendly, however there are a hand-full that need training on elderly care and professionalism.

I have shared this with our regional and community leadership team. We have made great strides in our activities and have had numerous compliments from residents' families. Safe place for loved one

My long time friend has been in both assisted living and now memory care for about two and a half years. i have been there many times to visit and always find the staff to be friendly, helpful, and attentive to resident needs. They have many activities for residents but many residents are not able to participate due to their condition. I find the place almost always clean. My friend seems happy here and the staff is great and I am always greeted sincerely. It is a good safe place for your loved one.

Ehh

Northglenn Heights. 1. Most of the caregivers are really attentive. 2. the q maps are a different story. There is one girl who is cold, seen on her phone downright lazy looking and looks like a [removed]. I had walked by her office and heard the f word coming out of her mouth. 3. The food is terrible. I'm sure the cooks try to deal with what their given but its very bland and not very much meat. You never see a solid piece of meat like a chicken leg or steak.

More than we could ask for!

We are so lucky to have [name removed] and his staff at Northglenn Heights caring for our mother! He has a heart of gold and has really impressed us with his ability to provide a personal level of attention and caring that, typically, only family members provide. Our mother has had a rough transition to Memory Care, but somehow [name removed] keeps her active, comfortable and smiling. Even on her bad days, he manages to go the extra mile to help her. Really, we could not ask for more and are so grateful we have him on our team!

Incredible Director and staff in Memory Care!

Our mother started in Northglenn Heights' Assisted Living and has since moved to their Memory Care facility. All along the staff has been so friendly and caring. There are the typical issues of the facility being understaffed at times, trouble updating all shifts/caregivers with changing needs, and laundry or housekeeping being late or missed in a given week, but the level of genuine care they provide makes that easy to forgive. Since moving to Memory Care, we have been blown away by the attentiveness, love and support the Memory Care Director, [name removed], and his staff have shown our mother. She required extra assistance during her transition to Memory Care and [name removed]has really been there for her, and for us. All the support she has received has allowed her to settle in comfortably. We can rest easy knowing she has these wonderful, loving people caring for her. We all highly recommend Northglenn Heights and cannot say enough good things about [name removed]! We're extremely grateful!
