I would not recommend the memory care community. The assisted living looks really nice and that it would be a great option. We were just not able to use. The staff seem to be overwhelmed and unable to take that extra step for the residents like they need to in the memory care unit.
The staff members at Heartis Village are so friendly and the community is very well kept. From what our loved one has told us, he seems to be perfectly content with the meals and even the activities. We know he is kept busy, sometimes when we call to check in he doesn't have time to talk to us because he is hanging out with his new friends. We most certainly would recommend this community.
They advertise that they do a lot of stuff, but with Covid it's been disappointing not to see it. They're just now opening the dining room. My loved one made a lot more complaints about the food when they were delivering it to the rooms. Activities have been mostly shut down. Right now they're just offering movies. We're hoping the bus trips resume again soon. I haven't had much interaction with the staff since we've not been able to go inside. They send out emailed newsletters. I've only had to call them a few times when I've needed something, but I didn't have a problem getting ahold of anybody. We're just looking forward to seeing things go back to normal and opening up more as Covid lessens.
They are interested in the residents. The food is excellent, which is important. It is a clean and well maintained building and they have good maintenance staff. We have been very pleased with our experience and referred Heartis Village to others. Prior to the quarantine they went on local trips and had people coming in to entertain. They have a large calendar of events. They also take residents to doctor’s appointments.
This is a very nice facility, but a lot more than we can afford.
My husband and I helped my mother in law move to Heartis Villiage in peoria Illinois . We feel like they helped her settle into her place and get acquainted with the other seniors living there. They have lots of activities and adventures for the seniors to go on weekly. There’s happy hour, games and get together’s all the time . My mother in law complained about the food at times and the service was slow in the dining room. She also complained that the nurses checked on her to make sure she was taking her medicine properly . We Reassured her that they were just doing their job to protect her and keep her safe . I think Heartis is a lovely place to live and the people are very kind and caring to all the people living and the facility.

Hi Christy, thank you for your review! We look forward to seeing you again in our community soon!
We love the way Hearts views it’s residents! They focus on what residents CAN do not what they CAN’T do. My mom is not very social and is not a talker. When we met with [name removed] for our tour, she got my mom talking up a storm and peeked her interest in some of the activities offered at this community. We went home, filled out all the necessary paperwork and drove right back to turn it in and put down a deposit to commit to moving in! I’m so excited about this new chapter in my mom’s life. I predict she’s going to be much more active than she has been in a long time and will be very happy in her new apartment!
The director was very knowledgeable and showed us some beautiful places. This place is definitely on the list and is comparable to Bickford. Such a grand place. Director was wonderful and very knowledgeable.
Heartis is doing an excellent job with my wife. They are getting a woman who was used to sitting in a chair all day in front of the TV up and moving around. They have her walking again, and they are taking good care of her. [Removed] and the rest of the staff is fantastic, the meals seem to be complete and nutritious, and my wife is really enjoying the activities. She seems more alert, and she spends a good amount of her time using her walker, not her wheelchair. This place is good for her.
We toured here while looking for a new place for my loved ones. It is certainly a very nice community, and we really liked it. However, it became for of an economical issue for my loved ones, so we decided to choose a community that is more practical/
I have no complaints of how things are going for my mother since she made the move into this community. The staff have been accommodating to all of her needs and I am comfortable with the care she has been receiving. Overall we are pleased and I would recommend it to anyone.
We toured this community and we did like the staff. The community was not what we were looking for and they need some small improvements in the cleaning. The menu was nice and the activities would have been offered for my mom to participate. We would suggest that other families tour this community for the care of a loved one.
Hard to resist the new building. Doing more investigation.
Very nice, clean, new place. Quite pricey though.
Location of property is excellent. Dining sounds perfect and it appears plenty of activities for my husband
Heartis is a beautiful loving place. The care is exceptional . My mom has been in the memory care for a week and has made great improvements with her physical difficulties from Lewy Body Dementia. Change can also be difficult for Alzheimer's Patients but the transition went incredibly smooth because the staff is so caring and loving . I would highly recommend Heartis whether you need memory care or just assisted living.
