After looking at other senior living places, LHV was the winner. Well maintained, great staff, friendly people, Nice landscaping including many flowers, tree's, shrubs. Winter snow removal. Before the virus many activities & entertainment. When needed, assisted living, nursing, short stay and part time on campus doctor. When something needs repaired a call will get things done very quickly. Has a store for basic needs. The new addition has swimming, theater, walking track, exercise equipment. You have to take the tour to believe.

Friendly, pleasant living
I have lived at LHV for 18 months. I was becoming familiar with the routines and activities when they were curtailed by the pandemic. Since that time The staff and administration have devoted themselves to the residents safety, health and comfort. Fellow residents are friendly and concerned about each other. As soon as we can return to prepandemic rules many group activities and luncheon trips will return. A pleasant place to live!!

Wonderful stay for my father
My father had an excellent stay in the REACH unit of Lutheran Hillside Village in Peoria. The nursing care was excellent. Each of the rooms is really beautiful with large bathrooms, big windows, and lovely views. The hallway is large, and makes it feel more home-like. My dad (loves good food) said the meals were quite good! The physical therapy he received was strenuous in a good way and greatly helped his recovery. The speech therapist was very thorough and friendly. All the therapists are friendly and personally interactive. Although he did not participate in many of the offered recreational activities due to vision limitations, I saw the offerings and thought they looked interesting. The staff was incredibly accommodating and nice to us and we enjoyed going for visits. We are fortunate to have such a great rehab unit in Peoria.

Lutheran Hillside Village REACH
The entire stay at Reach was incredible. Compassionate nursing care from staff with special thanks to nurse [name removed] for his kindness and professionalism throughout the stay. Top of the line dining experience at every meal setting with [name removed] providing great service to all of us. Administrators [name removed] and Social Services [name removed] were truly engaged with the progress and making sure the admission and discharge was seem-less. The Reach area was super clean and staff always there for you. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

Should be closed down.
My husband was unable to move on his own. Nursing left him in bed for 36 days. Developed a huge bed sore on buttocks, infected, and mentally confused. They sent him to hospital. I was not aware this was happening when I would visit as neither he nor any employee told me that he wouldn’t get out of bed. I asked why didn’t they make him get up and the response was “We can’t make him get up.” The man was immobile! They did n’t bother to turn him either! He was in hospital for 8 days with massive infection. When it was time to go back I moved him to another nursing home. There were other incidents to many to mention. I would not take a dog to Lutheran Hillside Village!

Love it here
Living at Lutheran Hillside a Village is like being on vacation year-round! No more home maintenance, no more cooking, no more yard work, no more parking woes at area concerts. From the minute you decide to come, the staff begins to work to make every step of your move go smoothly. The staff is wonderfully helpful and caring, and your fellow residents welcoming and friendly. There are activities for every interest and a dining room with delicious menu choices. Our apartments are cheerful and well-maintained, as are all the common areas. In short, there is no better place to be than Lutheran Hillside Village

No so much.
No stars. My parents have been here many years now. The Independent Living side is very good at a reasonable rate for the area. Just what you would want for your family. Assistanced Living declined from what it once was and management has been attempting to correct its service in this area realizing the need for improvement. The rates are on the high side for what services are received. However when the time comes for the help of health care, our experience has been horrible. Medications have been messed up. Primary doctors ordered not followed. Impossible to visit with the attending physician. Plans for treatment / recovery are not followed. They will take you off Medicare Part A as soon as possible putting your family member on Private Pay. Rates compared to service are unbelievably high.
