Dogwood Forest of Acworth

This place is amazing. My mom has dementia and didn’t want to leave her house but couldn’t live alone any longer. After visiting Dogwood Forest we knew this was the right place. From our first tour with [name removed] to getting her all moved in the staff has worked hard to help her adjust. We tried to put her in assisted living but she ended up in memory care. The staff is AMAZING! They guided us through the transition and everyone was so patient and kind as we worked to transition her there. (She was difficult and fought going at first). She loves it there now! She is happy and has totally adjusted to it. The facility is beautiful and clean. There are great activities for the residents to keep them engaged. Also families are welcome to participate. If you have out of town family that want to visit they have beautiful apartments for short term rental stay in Holbrook which is the independent living building on the campus and is beautiful as well. It is like a resort for seniors!

I visited this property last year and was given the royal treatment and a very nice tour. This is, by far, one of the more glamorous properties I've ever visited with everything you need at your fingertips. [name removed] is an outstanding Director and a fabulous representation of the community. She has a natural knack for what she brings to the party. You should be very proud to have her representing your community. All the other employees I met that day were very warm and friendly as well.

We are very happy with Dogwood. My parents are very happy being here. My mom has a social life and my dad is content in the memory care unit. The food is okay due to the way the food is cooked. The residents do have a meeting with the kitchen staff to assist with changes in meals.

Our Mom has been living at Dogwood Forest in the memory care building for almost a year and a half. Prior to moving to Dogwood, she lived in another community which did not meet her needs. Dogwood goes above and beyond. The facility is immaculate, the food is plentiful and nutritious and the staff does care about the residents. Our Mom has thrived at Dogwood. Memory care is a specialized area of care and the staff understands these special resident’s needs. We are very pleased with our decision to move our Mom to Dogwood Forest.

If you are looking for an Assisted Living facility for a loved one, look no further. My Mom has been a resident at Dogwood Forest of Acworth since the end of September. There is such a comfort and peace in knowing that she is being well taken care of and looked after. She continues to be active as there is always something scheduled during the day along with special occasion gatherings. She has made many new friends since moving in. The compassion and care that is evident in all those on staff is what separates this facility from the rest.

The apartments are well laid out. Staff does a good job of caring for the residents. Wish the dining facility offered more food options.

Wonderful people, both staff and residents. Friendly community. One of the best we’ve seen.

What a fun time tonight with family

After having placed my Mom in several different Assisted Living Homes, I can honestly say that Dogwood Forest is by FAR the absolute best facility I have encountered…In every way!

Our experience at Dogwood Forest has been the best!! Lori and the rest of the staff have taken the stress out of a difficult decision. The facility is a beautiful place! And there are so many activities for residents! It is truly the best place next to home!

We have only lived at Dogwood Forest, cannot compare it with others. Living here, happy to share , it is well run with true compassion for us residents. Well run? It is on par with Chick-fil-A , Apple and American Express. Chick-fil-A it is noted as a leader in guest relations.Dogwood Forest is equally as good. Our apartment is beautiful as is the rest of the facility. The real beauty here though is the staff who do respond to us with understanding and kindness. Dogwood understands how tough it is to move your parent(s) to a new home. They are so very welcoming & caring . They check on our mom many times thru the day & ntte. They always welcome family & friends & have beautiful places to visit. The food is really good , We know Dogwood takes good care of out momma. She is truly loved & cared for. Blessed we are to have found Dogwood. Thank you dogwood…for taking got care of our momma & becoming our extended family. Blessed we are!!

I checked out 5 assisted living facilities and settled on Dogwood Forest in Acworth. A Place for Mom was helpful in getting appointments set up & also got a discount after we signed the contract. If you don’t know where to start, this is a good source to help with these important decisions. We couldn’t be happier with our choice!

Dogwood forest is an amazing place . [name removed] is definitely an asset to this organization. The facility is so clean , the staff is amazing and the occupants looked happy and satisfied. The organization of this facility is perfect . [name removed] was attentive to my every need and also anticipated my needs . The decision to move my mother to the Memory Care at Dogwood Forest has been one of the best decisions our family has made regarding my mother’s care. I had visited multiple communities prior to selecting Dogwood Forest. From the moment I walked into Dogwood Forest for a tour with [name removed], the Sales Director, I knew I had found the right place for our mom. The decision to place your loved one in memory care is not an easy one, and Lori made us feel like family from the first visit. She explained every step of the process and was there for us to make my mother’s transition easy and smooth. The property is beautiful, welcoming, exceptionally clean and well maintained. Every staff member we have encountered is attentive and goes above and beyond to make residents feel at home. The outings and daily activities keep residents safe, engaged and entertained. We are so blessed to have discovered Dogwood Forest, and feel our mom is safe and very well cared for at this community.

We moved my parents into Dogwood Forest about two months ago. My Dad was diagnosed with ALS and my mom needed more help with his care. Dogwood and the staff have been awesome. They are so caring and do everything they can to make my parents feel at home. If there’s something my parents are unhappy with the staff has a sit down with the family to figure out how to improve or make them happy :) My parents were even allowed to bring their beloved Standard Poodle and they welcomed him as well with open arms. Also if I have a problem I text one of the staff and she immediately responds and takes care of whatever we need! I would highly recommend Dogwood Forest

From the first interview through the difficult and challenging task of actually admitting my wife into Holbrook, the staff went above and beyond in making this difficult process as easy as possible. At each stage a staff member carefully explained each step and answered al of our questions. When the day finally arrived that we had to make the transition, after weeks of agonizing whether we had made the right decision, the staff welcomed my wife so effortlessly it relieved the stress our entire family had been feeling as admittance day approached. Now, after six weeks, my wife is thriving in her new home with each day filled with activities focused on associating and gathering, interlaced with activities to help stimulate them both mentally and physically. We could not be more pleased. Now, I will be moving close by into the independent living area and am excitedly awaiting my transition.

We found Dogwood Forest of Acworth through A Place for Mom & I would give them 10 stars if that was possible. We moved Mom into the Memory Care Center & could not be happier with our decision. Mom is very active & engaged every day & is the happiest we've seen her in many years. Every staff member from, from the Sales Director & upper management to the caregiving staff, maintenance & housekeeping, the wellness/activities director, concierge, the list goes on-consistently goes above & beyond in providing exceptional service. The property is beautiful & pristine clean. The entire team is extremely attentive, responsive, compassionate & professional & is always respectful, patient, helpful & upbeat. Mom feels safe & is happy in her new home. We sleep better at night knowing she is being well cared for by a group of people who embrace us like extended family. I simply can't say enough good things about DF of Acworth. Our heart felt thanks goes to the entire team. You are all outstanding!

The thought of putting my father in a "home" just didn't sit well with me even though it was the best thing for him with Dementia. After visiting with Dogwood Forrest, nothing else compared. He has been there for over 2 years and he loves it and so do we. The staff is always helpful and keep us updated. Meals and entertainment are great and his room is nice. We were able to get him a room with a balcony overlooking the garden area.
