It Has Been a Pretty Good and Smooth Transition

I'm glad that my loved ones moved in here. My loved ones really like the community. There is a health provider that comes on site and this is a big plus that the doctor can see my loved ones on site in their apartment. There has been quite a bit of staff turnover. My loved ones have loved the food. It seems to be a rotating menu, but a lot of diversity of food, and feel it is the healthiest they have eaten in years. Some of the weekend menu items have included steak, salmon, rack of lamb, and more. The apartment, housekeeping, all the meals, utilities, changing of linens, laundry of linens, and 1 bag each of clothing laundered for each of my loved ones, internet, and phone is included in the monthly fee. The community will also include a land line if your loved ones would like one. My loved ones have enjoyed the sight seeing tour on Sundays the community provides. The community has transportation to take the residents to nearby shopping centers and near a clinic.... Read more

As far as communities go this place is tops. The help is wonderful, friendly, helpful, and caring. The food has its good days and bad. The transportation is outstanding. Who could ask for more.

Their Covid checking's is wonderful. One reason I came here. You care but why do accept new residents who are are not vaccinated.? Many activities to do; music brought in relax and listen to but we need more old folk music we listened to 1940's etc. Food can be good, glad they cut down on portions for women. Dining room too noisy. Help in thoughtful and kind. We need more knowledge of rules etc..

Tour of Byron Park

We had a great tour with Byron Park, it is a very nice facility. The residents here seemed more mobile than my mom was, so we felt it did not match up with her care needs.

Excellent Service and Support

My biggest concern is there can be a lot of additional expenses added to services. It would be ncie if they included three meals a day instead of just two. But I like that it's well secured and well staffed. The people there are very friendly. They've been responsive and helfpul. The food I tried was very good, and they Have a lot of activities.

my review of Byron Park

We toured this facility and the staff was over 40 min late. The community is 6 stories and a lot of the building seemed very cold and chili. The rooms are beautiful but it just didn't fit our needs

A caring community

Bryon Park was a very caring community. They put a lot of effort into making sure that the residents were involved in activities. They were very concerned about socialization for the residents. The food was excellent and they staff made sure that residents were seated with others residents that had interests in common.

Bait and Switch Pricing

On the upside: Nice residents, beautiful building, beautiful courtyard, nice staff. On the downside: A bait and switch approach to pricing. My mom moved to assisted living several years ago, thinking she would be safe and cared for. It was expensive, but she had saved for it. However, within two years, even the basic services were cut, while the prices DOUBLED!!! She has to count every item of clothing and put it on a list in order to have the laundry done. The consequence is that they do almost no laundry for her. The brunch that we heard so much about was cut to every other week. Bathrooms are not renovated to be handicap accessible unless you pay for it. Twice we pushed her button for help and NO ONE CAME FOR 45 MINUTES. Residents who need help with socks or other minor things, end up just doing it themselves, because no one shows up for 30-40 minutes. But the worst part is that the cost for care is absolutely unpredictable and every little thing adds to a points system that even the managers have trouble explaining without a computer. My mom feels like she can't breathe differently without being charged for it. This was not what we were sold. Imagine planning for your future and having the costs double! It has put her in a state of anxiety and we are thinking of moving her again. Not what you want for your aging parent.

Review of Byron Park

Came 1 1/2 years ago with my husband who has dementia. He is now in a board-care facility but I have stayed. Find the facility clean, comfortable and safe. All staff are friendly and helpful and do everything possible to accommodate needs. Nearly all residents are welcoming and kind. Food, with the new General Manager, has gone from good to excellent. Sometimes there are delays in service, but not terrible. Variety of activities.
