Our family experience at Oakmont

Overall experience - were pleased with Oakmont. The staff is lovely, the facility is nice. A relative has a private room that is spacious for his wheelchair. It is amongst the pricier of facilities, however, we feel we don't have to worry about him while he's there. Overall care is really good, however, within two weeks of arriving our relative came down with Covid. he had to spend a month in the hospital. Then go to a different care facility for 2 weeks before he could be allowed back in to Oakmont. no one who visited him from outside the facility had Covid. We later learned that five staff members and eight assisted living people all came down with Covid at the same time. Yet Oakmont was at a loss to explain to us how he had gotten sick. They claimed it was no one on their staff that had been near him that had Covid. He was the only person in memory care to come down with Covid at that time. The place is very clean. A lot of memory care as we looked at to smell like urine. This place neither smells like urine or like cleaning products. It's pretty much like walking into somebody's home. Everyone there has been really friendly. And they seem to have a very large staff to patient ratio compared to other places we've seen. For the meals and dining when we looked at this place we were very impressed with the food options. However, our family member is in memory care, and they do not have the same options as assisted living. That is one thing or family member complains about every time we visit him. Even with his memory issues he always tells us the food isn't what he wants. We cannon speak to the activities, we are rarely there when they do activities. When we do go to visit him, they are usually watching movies., or watching sing-along shows. I believe when he first went there they did have board games. They may still do these things, but he doesn't tell us that so we don't know. For the value, this is what we expected it to be however, I do feel it's still a bit high for what he receives. But we also understand he's in memory care, and that does take more than someone who's not memory care.... Read more

The Place to Go When Your Family and Your Loved One Are in Great Need

This was an outstanding experience for my family. I would recommend the community to others for their loved ones. The staff communication with the family was wonderful. They made sure we were kept up-to-date on our loved one's condition. The staff brought food to my dad as he was cleaning out my mom's room after her passing.

My tour of Oakmont of Concord

I toured this facility and loved it. I loved the whole place, it was my first choice. I liked the grounds and the rooms better than other places that I toured. The facility was spotless and the staff seemed very tight knit. Unfortunately, they didn't have an opening when I toured. If they would have, I would have chosen this facility for my loved one.

My tour review

My mother is in assisted living and based on the information we had at the time we went to memory care and that is not what my mother needed . The tour was very good and they even gave a gift bag at the end of the tour.

My tour review

This community was a joke it was way to expensive. It was way too big and overwhelming. There were also a lot of residents. It was beautiful but it wasn't for us.

A Welcoming and Warm Place

I would tell others that it is a great place. The staff have taken care of my parents well. It's not to big. The community was supportive of our move in. My parents enjoy the food and have settled into the community nicely. They have movies, happy hour, games, and more for the residents to choose from for activities.

Oakmont of Concord Memory Care

We moved my mom into Oakmont Memory Care right in the midst of covid. This was not an easy thing to do, but necessary. The staff at Oakmont were helpful, supportive, caring and helped us all with a successful and smooth transition. My mom loved her room, and the loving and positive staff. Due to covid and Alzheimer's we cannot personally rate the food or activities, although from everything we have gathered, they are great. Going forward, the staff has continued to consistently communicate, provide high standards of health and safety in the midst of covid, and have listened and responded to any and all of our questions or concerns. [Name removed], [name removed] and the front desk crew are all incredibly amazing!

A beautiful second home

Oakmont is magnificent. The community is absolutely impeccable. It is the most beautiful place with the most beautiful grounds which are secured as well. They are such wonderful and fabulous people. You can't find better people! The staff are so sweet and so nice. My mother in law loves it there and so is happy. They offer so many activities to keep the residents engaged all day long. The units are absolutely beautiful, they are suites. They have personalized memory boxes outside each residents door so that they can easily find their rooms. They even have their own restaurant on the campus. When my mother in law had a health issue, they contacted us immediately and took care of everything. They are so on top of things.

Excellent Care and Service

We had to find a place for my father-in-law under an extremely tight timeframe and tricky circumstances. There were some facilities we toured that felt overly salesy in their approach, others that were wildly disorganized or felt chaotic, and places that just felt dismal for the memory care side where there was no secure outdoor space for dementia/alzheimer's residents. Oakmont of Concord was none of those things. From the moment we first stepped in for our first visit, through our myriad questions, signing docs, intake process/exam, and to move-in, everyone at Oakmont was absolutely incredible. When we stepped through the door for the first time, we knew that we had very fortunately found a place that was very different and a cut above the rest. It's a smaller facility (around 55 apartments, I believe), so the staff knows each resident well and provides caring and attentive service. The place is sparkling clean, the quality and selection of the food in the dining room is excellent, the services provided are top-notch, the secure outdoor garden is beautifully tended & enjoyed by many residents, the activities are well attended and have a high level of participation, and truly every staff person has been remarkable in their help, care and guidance. [Name removed], [name removed], [name removed], [name removed], and [name removed]. We couldn't have navigated the process without all their help. And even my father-in-law, who felt a bit "iffy" about needing assisted living, has happily agreed that everyone there is really nice, friendly, helpful and caring. Highly recommend.

Helpful Staff!!

I had recently taken a tour of this community for my loved one and I was not that impressed with everything that I had seen. I drove through this neighborhood and that was the first disappointment in my opinion. The grounds where not kept and it just looked messy. I decided to go on with my search that had a cleaner property.
