Excellent place to live
I would say to come and visit because you will enjoy it. They have activities like work outs all day, indoor swimming pool, there is a card room, a theater and evening activities. There is so much to do that you cant get to all of it.

Buckner Villas is a faith-based, resort-like continuing care retirement community spread across 25 acres of landscaped greenery. The Tuscan-style facility is located in Austin — the capital of Texas.
While living at Buckner Villas, residents have access to a continuum of care, as well as a variety of living accommodations. The pet-friendly community offers services for seniors in need of independent living, assisted living, respite care, skilled nursing, and rehabilitation. With the exception for those in independent living, residents receive quality care provided by round-the-clock caregivers. Additionally, seniors can choose between wheelchair-accessible living spaces, including one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments, suites, and cottages. Convenient services like cleaning, laundry, and transportation, enable seniors to live a carefree lifestyle.
When residents are not relaxing in their spacious living accommodations, they can explore the community’s amenities and participate in various activities. Tour experience
I toured with Bucker Villas and none of the employees acknowledged me or my father. We also did not see any residents out and about in the common areas, so we did not choose this facility.

Keep Looking, there are better places for less money than Buckner
Buckner does independent living very well. While the AL is small. a plus, it is short staffed. 1 aide for 25+ residents each shift and 1 med aide. No variety of activities and residents are pretty much left on their own with how to spend their day. The vibe you get is "dead." A word of warning- if your loved one ever expresses dissatisfaction or turns down help from aides, they will not help them/try to find out why they are refusing assistance or do any type of problem solving. Aides are not trained to work or problem solve with residents when issues arise. The AL manager turnover has been terrible since 2020 before the pandemic began: 3 AL directors left. Residents and their families received no communication about each hire or departure. Buckner has a lot to improve on in communication & the food. Residents in AL hate the food and it just gets worse with mostly sandwiches as main meals. Enjoy their independent living, but look elsewhere when you need more care. More choices exist.

Tour of Buckner Villas
We toured Buckner Villas and it was a very pretty place. The community was well done and well cared for. The staff and administration were also very nice. Although we had a great tour experience and first impression; we chose another community because Buckner did not fit into our budget.

Buckner Villas is the perfect environment for us. A great place for independent living. My dad is able to get as much or as little help as he needs.
The people are very friendly. My dad loves the food. It's a little on the expensive side, but it seems like you get what you're paying for. They have a lot of amenities. The apartments are spacious, and maintenance is great on the whole facility. I've never seen anything broken or in disrepair. When I walked in there, I felt like I was in a hotel and wouldn't mind living there myself! They've made the transition really easy for my dad going from being completely on his own to independent living.

My Review of Buckner Villas
Living in this community is a pleasure. The apartments are spacious and the surroundings are well kept, but the best of all are the people that live here, friendly and outgoing.
I could see on my first visit all the ones I met had a joys outlook with a positive smile. Now to the numerous activates (all great) executed with good intentions for our well being for all to partake. My favorite is the pool.

Our tour experience
Our family had an in person tour and we liked the community but they do not integrate their assisted living folks with the senior living folks which is something I did not really like. However, the room sizes were very nice but the community just gave off a different vibe.

My review of Buckner Villas
The community is clean, the aids are very kind and they care about the residents. We would recommend this community, however for a non-profit community the value for cost is extremely extensive. But we are very satisfied and pleased with it overall.

Outstanding Complex
The complex itself is outstanding in that my mother will never have to leave the acreage there. Everything is there for her, it is totally transitional. They have been totally supportive. They have a full-time physical therapist working with people. There is plenty of food. The price is the best I found in town. She is very happy there.

They are just super but my mom didn't go there. Their assisted living was on the small side. They only had about 38 in assisted living so you would get a whole lot more personal attention. Mother's favorite doctor is the medical director there so that's what she liked about it. Plus it's new but mother didn't care for the location. It's two blocks off I35 so the location is not desirable but that's mainly the only negative. When you're there and you're living there you have a different perspective. The people that we know living there really like it.
