I have only been here for three months and so far I love where I am. I am in the right place, in the right apartment on the right floor. I love how big my apartment is and I have made a lot of friends. I has been a great experience, everything here is so nice, and the staff members are very kind and just nice to us. Brookdale Valencia is the perfect fit for me, I can relax, I'm laughing more, and its just a huge relief.
The communication among the staff is poor. The right-hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing. The community is clean and the staff is very friendly. The activities were lacking and they really need to have more for the residence to do.
The staff at the community was very attentive and wonderful. Their meals and dining service was excellent. The nursing staff would be a five out of five especially the manager and her right hand person. They really worked well with us and went above and beyond. The manager was also very friendly towards us.
Everyone on staff is very attentive, the caregivers make you feel like they have the time to sit and listen to you even when you know they are busy.
Everybody has been treating me really well. Now that I have been here I am learning the routine. Very good staff I enjoy every one.
I love it here it is beyond my expectations when I decided to come. I adore the people here everyone is very sweet to me. I think that meals are well done. Housekeeping does a decent job. I have no criticism.
On behalf of [name removed], I have been here 4 years, during this trip I have experienced a lot of time in the front office. My feeling of the current director is unquestionable. She performs her duties without question. The best she can do. She has precautioned us from suffering this virus and we all grateful for that!
I have lived at Brookdale's Independent unit for six years, since 2014. I find it secure and comfortable with a beautiful apartment. The food is tasty and healthful. Before the pandemic, we had been visiting entertainers, including a classical pianist. The people are friendly and help each other. No one has caught the virus here - good administration.
I have a lovely apartment that I can do anything i want with and I have a balcony. During the pandemic, the food is delivered three times a day to my apartment and I think that it's spectacular. I order from a menu. The services are all good including housekeeping and maintenance. The maintenance staff come whatever I call.
They are unorganized there and the food menu isn't that great, The activities are not geared to the residents and don't offered often enough. The activities should be more interactive. The caregivers are okay, I had an experience with them not giving my mother her medications. It you live on the independent side, you really need to be completely independent. I am paying extra for an outside agency to come in and take care of my mother. I believe if they had the right people in place, it would be a great community.
The staff is very friendly. The meals are good. The rooms in the apartments are large and they contain full kitchens, however, the property and apartments are very outdated and the location is not in an area where I would like to live.
[Name removed] the director of the facility forced herself into an apartment of an independent living resident. The volunteer asked her to leave and [name removed] refused then proceeded to scream insults at the volunteer spitting at her while doing so. The volunteer had to leave feeling threatened for her safety. I would not put a dog in this facility with management that behaves so unprofessionally. [Name removed] is all about the money. Resident care is low on her list.
Dark, depressing building. Old, ugly furniture. Unattractive neighborhood. Higher rates for fewer services.
Very rough surrounding area. The high crime rate
Not too impressed with the staff.
While looking at other locations for my love one I thought that this place is really nice and their staff team is really helpful. I was very happy with my first initial visit to tour around their facility. When it comes down to it, the only reason why we went with another property was because the location was more convenient. However, I know that they are capable of caring for their residents. I would still recommend them to families in that area.
We toured at Brookdale, and really liked the community. It was actually cheaper in price than some of the other places we saw, but it's also a very large community. We knew that my loved one wouldn't be comfortable in such a large place.
I visited this Brookdale while I was looking for a new place for my loved one. I felt that this community was really nice, and I liked the memory care unit. However, I worried that the Brookdale Valencia might be too large to be comfortable for my loved one, so we looked elsewhere,
I toured here when trying to find a place for my friend. It’s a big facility, you can kind of get lost in the shuffle of it all. There are about 180 rooms. The room I saw was bigger than at a lot of other places I had seen but had a nonoperational 2 burner stove. It just didn’t hit me as a place that my friend would be happy at. The facility was kept pretty clean from what I could see. I don’t really know how many people they have on staff but if you have 180 rooms, I get the feeling they’d be spread thin. I was able to talk to someone on the staff, whose name I can’t remember, but she was very pleasant. I was able to see what activities they provided as well and it seemed like there were a few good choices. I wound up finding somewhere else that my friend liked more, but this would’ve been my second choice. It was just a little bit too far.
This place was very sad and very dirty. I toured here to see if it would be a good fit for my dad and I went because my dad had actually had a friend that was there. When you first enter the building, you walk into this great big room that’s dark and dingy and outdated and no one was there up front to talk to. There were stains on the carpet and I was taken to this office area where there was paper everywhere and overflowing bookcases. I feel like it’s important that when you first walk in, the receptionist area should be clean and bright because first impressions are everything. The commons area just had a bunch of residents sitting there, the courtyard was very rocky and had a lot of weeds, and the dining area just made me feel like I wanted to scrub it. The guy that gave me the tour was very nice but I would not recommend sending anyone over there.
