This community was just not homey, and did not give that warm feeling that we were looking for for our loved one. The tour people were very accommodating on the tour the community just did not fit our needs.
The cost is high but compared to everyone else it is a good price. I recommend this property. The staff are very engaged in keeping the residents busy and occupied which in my loved ones case is very important.
Our family was able to have an in person tour and walk around the community with masks on. Brookdale reminded us of a luxury hotel, it is a very nice community. However due to our loved ones health condition we did not think they would need a nice luxurious community since they were not able to enjoy all the amenities they offered.
I've had a limited amount of experience with this type of thing, but we did have our loved one at another place, and we like Brookdale better. Brookdale costs a little less, which we appreciate, and they're also friendlier. They're very nice here. I haven't noticed any smells or anything when I walk in, and the common spaces and resident rooms look nice and clean.
I think it is a good place. The staff are good and responsive. The room is very nice. It is close to shopping centers, if your loved one need these amenities. One thing I would change is I would like it to cost less.
Brookdale Orland was nice. The location was convenient, and I liked the amenities they offered. But it was a little bit out of our price range.
They are just starting to bring back the activities, and our loved one says the food they serve is just okay. The value is pretty expensive, we do feel like we are paying more then what we are getting. The community could improvement on their communication with the residents families.

The community is safe. the community kept us informed and updated. I would recommend this community to others
My loved one never actually moved in here. But we chose Brookdale at the time because it was recommended to us and I talked to a guy here who was very helpful and we thought it was going to be the right place for her to go at the time. Everything looked really good and they were going to make things easy for us.
Unfortunately our loved one passed away before they were able to move in, but when we first checked out the facility it was nice and beautiful. The staff members were friendly, and the place was clean. We would recommend it to others if they can afford it, it is pretty expensive.
The staff members were very friendly, and they did the best that they could when it came to caring for her. However, we told them right off the bat that it was only temporary and they pretty much held our loved one hostage. We had to go through a lot of financial things to get our loved one out.
I would tell others that you need to keep a close eye on your loved ones. They lost her hearing aids, they sent her to the hospital with only her lower dentures. They also were charging me for going up and down for meals when they were being delivered to the rooms, and I did not get any money back for that. That was also not in the original contract. At this point I would not recommend to others looking.
We chose Brookdale Orland Park because of the cleanliness, the friendliness of the staff, and the location of the facility. My father has been happy with his room size. Overall, it has been a good experience and I would recommend.
We chose Brookdale Orland Park because I liked it when we were there touring. The staff made the transition very smooth and easy for us. I would recommend to others looking.
Find out what assisted living means before you go, Some of the staff were extremely nice, others not so much. The food was ok, and the room sizes were pretty decent. They were reasonably quick to respond to issues. I would recommend this facility to others
We chose Brookdale Orland Park because they were more accommodating to our needs. The room sizes here are ok, they do have private rooms and rooms that share bathrooms. My wife likes the food that they serve, when I was able to visit, in the great room area I was able to see the dining room and the staff seemed very attentive to the residents. I would recommend to others who are looking. The staff has been very good at communication, to the point where I wrote the coordinator of the memory unit a note and they sent it to cooperate and they gave a certificate of appreciation to the people that I mentioned in the note.
My wife is in the memory unit. We chose Brookdale Orland Park because it was clean and smelled good when we walked in. I was also comfortable with the staff members here, they were very friendly and the vibes were good. I talked to the administrator and he said they hire staff based on ability to cope with whats going on, friendliness, and education. She is in a room with a shared bathroom. When I visit with my wife, I see the dining room and the staff is very attentive during meals. They have scheduled times for when they eat meals in the dining room. Each residents has to eat individually due to the virus. The best part about the community so far is being comfortable with the staff, anytime there is anything new, I always get a call. I also feel free to ask questions and I know I will get an answer. They are just super, they care about the families as much as they do the residents. They are very clear with their communication as well.
The staff is wonderful. The food is okay, My dad like a little more variety. The nursing team is great. They have a nice relationship with my dad. Residents are not all that friendly. The room size is fine. The layout is great.
The move-in process for my dad was a bit rough, however there has been some staff turnover since then, which has clearly improved the community greatly. The new staff and management are great and have been very communicative with us especially with the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. The food at Brookdale Orland Park is excellent and a much healthier option for my dad than what he was previously used to. The staff at Brookdale Orland Park has saved his life! They have improved his health greatly and they clearly care a lot for him and as a result, take great care of him. It was difficult for him to make the adjustment to community living initially, however it has been a great relief to us to see his health improve so much. During Covid-19 quarantine, they have made a clear effort to keep residents entertained and busy. I would recommend Brookdale to everyone! My rep with A Place for Mom was also extremely helpful during my dad's decision
Liked this one. They seem to be a little inconsistent on pricing that has been communicated but so far it’s our first choice and they are doing an eval at the hospital
