I've been pleasantly surprised at how consistently good they are across the board. The people that I've interacted with have all seemed very competent and open to phone calls and questions. . They've been very responsive. I expect them to remember my loved one's name, but they even remember my name as well. And they remember things about her and our family, which makes me feel like they pay attention and really care. They seem to truly understand dementia and how to work with her to achieve positive outcomes. The food is fresh and good quality, not all out of a can, which makes me happy. There's some diversity in what they serve as well, so they're not eating the same thing every day. They seem to offer a lot of activities, and I've seen them stop by her room and try to engage her in them. And if she declines, they don't chastise her. They just say "Okay, well maybe next time." They've made a huge accomplishment getting her out of her room and on the exercise bike. And this isn't an activity, but they've also gotten her to bathe consistently, which is a really big deal with her dementia. When we first started there, we told them we felt like she needed OT and PT, and within a week they had that going. They call and give us updates and keep us informed, which we appreciate. Our loved one looks considerably better than she did at the last place. She's stronger and healthier. And she seems to be happy there. I'm so grateful we have the resources to afford this type of care, which costs quite a bit no matter where you go. But I feel like we're getting what we're paying for here.
Brookdale has been wonderful, the community is very clean and the staff members are extremely friendly. The activities are starting back up, for awhile there was nothing but now they are taking the residents out for ice cream, they have social hour, bingo and church services. The staff have been really helpful with medication distribution for our loved one and helpful with refills. They also have an in house doctor which our loved one is set up with.
Our families experience so far has been great. Our loved raves about the food, she absolutely loves it she talks about it all the time. The activities are fully open, they have quite a bit to offer the residents. Our mother is treated with compassion and kindness. We would recommend Brookdale community, we are confident our mother is safe and well cared for.
Our family did an in person tour with Brookdale, and it was just okay. It was a little to in depth, a little long. Also the cleanliness of the community was not as good and not really what we were expecting.

Thank you for taking the time to visit. We appreciate your feedback and will share with our management team for review.
Brookdale Orange Park was nice. I would have liked it more if the prices were not as high. It was clean and tidy.
It is a great community. I would recommend you try it out. There is a caring staff and they know what they are doing. They attend to all the resident's needs. I don't see a lot of activities currently for my loved one.
I think this community is the best in our area, The food is really great and they have a good variety, The activities are also great and they have a Facebook page to post info. I would definitely recommend this community to others
We chose Brookdale Orange Park because it was close to family so we could visit often. The room sizes here seem to be very adequate. The only thing that has been hard is they changed how we were doing her insulin and there has been a lot of trouble getting it under control. Overall, I would recommend to other families who are looking.
We were only able to see this community briefly, our loved one moved in right before COVID. Overall the care services have been fine, but due to COVID some things have been lacking a little. Even during this time the residents were still able to participate in activities. They could paint in their rooms, the staff members would also bring around a refreshment cart which was nice. They also have a little themed holiday party for Cinco De Mayo. The court yard really stood out to us at first and the rooms they provide for the residents are nice.
We had my sister in the assisted living unit, we just recently moved my sister to the memory care side of the community, and she seems to be very happy. The rooms are more on the smaller side, the rooms are all similar in size. Very limited on how you can set them up. When she moved in she was in assisted living, but we had her on the memory care list. Once they assessed her in August the cost in care went up a significant amount, which we had a problem with. Although, the staff has communicated very well will us during COVID, they have really kept us up to date. They really made sure to keep the families involved. We would recommend this to a family or a friend
