This was a short term stay. There was long response time to call lights over the weekend. There is a dialect issue as some of the staff where hard to understand when they were speaking. Attentive and response time need improved. They were friendly and the introduction into the facility went smoothly. They did charge for an entire month when my loved one was only there a few days of that as well as medications filled that she never took.

I would recommend to check other places before you place your loved one in the community. The care is fair but right now I am trying to get my loved one in another community that I feel will fit her needs better.

It's a good fit for our loved one. Everybody seems to be nice and very accommodating. If we have any issues, they're right there to help. My family members who have tried the food says it's very good. The activities they offer seem nice. It just seems a little pricey though.

We toured this community and the tour was very good. They answered all of our questions and were very informative. They were very accommodating and the staff was very helpful and friendly. Unfortunately, the community was just not in our price range
Very nice place. [name removed] was very patient and answered all of my questions. I am still researching my dad's financial status to determine what he can afford. This would be my first choice (if he can afford it).

I would never recommend this facility to any family They were lacking in attention to detail, customer service, and timeliness in getting back to us with issues. Friendliness, just morally during the time of Covid and the pandemic, is not there. They talk about setting up virtual appointments, but they never call you. Or if you are able to set them up, your loved one is never escorted down for the appointment. I don't have a problem with their Covid precautions, and they do require masks of all visitors. But whether someone is very ill to the point of being on hospice or whether someone is just lonely, I just don't see where the staff makes the family feel that their loved one is in their hands and will be taken care of. There's just so much pushback. And not being able to see your loved one regularly, you just don't know what's going on. The times that we were allowed in his room, it was filthy. There were blood stains on the walls, dirt in the tub, ants on the wall and in the bed. They were not responsive when we addressed those issues with them. He now has terrible bed sores and has ended up on hospice. And we have no way of knowing if they were turning him regularly like they're supposed to.

Our experience has been pretty limited still because of the covid but we would recommend the community to others. We have spoken with one the aids on our loved ones floor and that communication has been good, but the communication regarding day to day updates could be a little better
Due to the covid restrictions we were not able to get inside the community, and there were no activities going on while our loved one was there. We would recommend the Blue Ridge Senior Living community to others as long as the situation fit their loved ones needs, and they know what they are buying.

It's a decent place for the money. It was clean. I wouldn't put my loved one just anywhere. It was the best value that I could find for sure. I had interaction with only a couple of staff members, and they've been great. They've done a good job of communicating to me since I can't go in to visit due to Covid. They've not been offering activities, and it would have been nice for her to have some kind of social life while she was here. She's not had a whole lot of interaction with the residents since she's been here.

I really believe some things are really good but some things could be better. Most employees are very good and some could improve. Most times the food is good. Some times the food could be improved - such as presentation, the combining and cooking. I really love the 3 head people and they are very approachable.

June 12, 2019Thank you for your review. We appreciate your kind words. We'd like to speak with your more in detail about additional improvements. Please stop down and speak with our Executive Director, Sarah.
Symphony Manor is a typical assisted living place where turn over of management is never ending, as well as the nursing staff. You may have a great nurse one day then she is gone 3 weeks later. Management comes and goes like the wind. You get one thing figured out then you have to go thru the same thing with the next "Director" and I use that term loosely. Your bill is never itemized to show exactly what you owe. I have had to bring in records to show them what has occurred because they are constantly dealing a new accounting system or some other excuse. They place looks presentable to the average person but your rates will start out one amount and soon will be double. It may be different (up or down) from month to month. All of these places have issues and they all work the same way. If you do not come on a daily basis you will get ripped off or else your loved one will whomever is paying the bill. They will even tell you one price on phone then tell you another when you get there and then charge yet another when you get the bill. You also can never speak to management, they are always "on another line" or otherwise not available. If you show up their door is closed. But I am not proudest on this place because Sunrise is the same way and some of the higher ones are also so might as well get the best deal for as long as possible. You will move then eventually just to start it over again.

My mother has recently made the move into this community and I could not have picked a better place for her to go. The staff are all lovely people and I am comfortable with the care they have been providing her. She is no longer lonely and is involved in many activities with the other residents. She was able to have her dog and has even been helping plant different plants throughout the building which she loves to do. Overall this was the perfect fit and I would defiantly recommend it to anyone.

People very nice here. It is clean. I didn't particularly care for a shared bathroom between rooms. There were other options I know. It is an older facility for those who need this lower monthly price range.

My Father In Law is more than thrilled and it is better than we thought it would be. Things are going very well. We have absolutely no complaints with Symphony Manor. A Place For Mom has been a great help too.
