Lakewood Manor is a warm, friendly place that has the comfort and care of the residents first and foremost. Those we have talked with that have been here 17 plus years have nothing but positive comments about it. We have just been here one week, and already feel at home. Getting involved in activities is key to getting to know other residents. The food is well prepared and there is variety. For me the portions are too large, but I just take leftovers back to the apartment to have for lunch or breakfast the next day. I would recommend Lakewood to anyone thinking of a retirement community to come to Lakewood. There is great peace of mind knowing that we will be taken care of until our time on this earth is over.... Read more

We toured Lakewood retirement community and it was a beautiful facility. The only reason we did not choose them was because we were looking for a leasing community rather than one you had to buy into and this was one you had to buy.
My review is from a year ago, so I am not sure if it has changed. The staff here was not happy and most of their staff did not like what they were doing and it showed with everything that they did. They do not interact with the residents, only as they have to. It seemed like they resented what they were doing. It was ok but certainly not warm.

Rude staff who are inattentive/ unobservant of medical issues. Some staff are aggressive and use a punitive tone with residents. Make sure you check on your family member daily.
