It was very nice. The staff was friendly. The home was great inside and out. My only disappointment was the sharing of rooms. The residents seemed happy when I was there.

Oak St Retreat was very clean and very helpful with all the concerns I had for my mother. That"s the kind of place we are looking for.

Had to ring door bell twice and I was still kept waiting. As door was opened saw some things being pushed out of sight. Very depressing. Activities, besides 2 board games, are twice a week when VA visits as most residents are veterans. Alarm at front door for wanderers but not sure of back door. Not enough bathrooms. Owner indicated that her family would be moving out and planned to expand facility to upper floor. Would not recommend. .

Sets the Bar High
My loved one stayed at Oak Street for respite care, and our experience was excellent. When we were looking for a place, we toured Oak Street first. I have to say, they set the bar very high. The community is warm, welcoming, very fresh and clean, and not at all institutional. I love that the community is very secure, it's all on one floor and it's small; only five beds. This community was a great fit for my loved one's respite care, and I would recommend it to others.

Juanita was helpful, knowledgeable and caring. Her facility was clean, efficiently run and welcoming. Unfortunately no one on staff trained in care of trach patients.
