Peace of mind for mom
From the very first phone call everyone was so pleasant and understanding. They listened to what we were looking for and explained everything this community offered which turns out to be exactly what we needed. Freedom to do what you want but at the same time offering many services and activities! I would recommend point pleasant to everyone in need of finding a place for mom and/ or dad that aren’t quite ready for a nursing home but just need a little help with everyday things. Plus, The social aspect of it is life changing ! The only reason it’s not a 5 star review across the board is because the meal plans could be better, it’s NOT bad at all but there is definitely room for improvement.

food is terrible
After living 80+ years through the depression with next to nothing, and building from scratch their life savings to pay the exorbitant amount Point Pleasant asks to live there, given the meager tasteless thrown together food they offer at meals is absolutely criminal. I am disgusted by the greed of holding out on hiring a decent chef to produce good meals for what could and should be the highlight of these resident's day. They are constantly out of the most basic food items and will get anyone who is willing to cook, even waiters who have no experience cooking. To add insult to injury they raised the rent hundreds of dollars per month recently. This is totally unacceptable, and they should be ashamed.

Review for Point Pleasant
This is only one I toured and it seemed to offer what I was looking for. My only complaint is with the food. It is rarely hot and the menu is not reliable. Overall I'm satisfied with it. My tour experience was informative and pleasant.

Everything is great except for the food. The food is constantly cold or burnt. Residents had a meeting about it, but nothing has changed so far . It's been a few weeks.

Mismanaged and communication issues
They have some issues in the kitchen - it is not managed well. Half the time they do not serve what is on the menu. They print out the menu and then they change it without telling anyone and that happens every day. If I order something and they do not have it, I get something else and am not told about it beforehand. If I want a cheeseburger I cannot get it after 6, they shut the grill down early even though they say it is served until 7. We pay a lot of money and have been disappointed in the experience. Communication is a big issue and it needs improvement.

We chose Point Pleasant because we needed assisted living included and [name removed] is here to help if you need it. If you are in this vicinity, it is in a nice location. I do know that the food has gone downhill since we moved her in. Overall I would recommend to others looking.

A good place for a place Dad
The community is very clean, well kept and organized which was something that stood out right away to us. The director is very outgoing and informative. The meals are like anything else, sometimes they are really good and other times not so much.

Wonderful
I give them a very good review. Everyone is just very helpful and right there if you need them. That's never been an issue They're very friendly and attentive. My mom loves her apartment and stays busy with what activities she's able to participate in. She likes the food overall. We're very pleased.

A great place to live
Have visited there for a social event and was pleasantly surprised at the amount of activity and laughter. Everyone seemed to be having a great time and the staff was very attentive to everyones' needs.
We toured a new apartment which was very nicely appointed and clean.
I would recommend Point Pleasant to anyone!

Point Pleasant pleasantly surprised me!
At 88 years, I'm a guy in fair health who is able to take care of himself independently. I was in no mood to enter a retirement home, but not wanting to share a home with friends or relatives I felt it was the smart choice.
My cousin [name removed] and a friend of mine checked out some local facilities and their reputation while I was still in Florida.
I chose Point Pleasant on their recommendation and upon arriving there, I was more than pleasantly surprised. I am fairly particular and yet I honestly do think the place is GREAT!
Three good meals a day, very clean everywhere, friendly and helpful staff, and plentiful activities for good value.

Dad Is Doing Great
The community is a great fit for my dad. They were a great recommendation. He likes the meals and has a few options to choose daily. His apartment has a fridge and a microwave. They have games a couple days of the week. He plays domino, gone to a few celebrations, and has joined Wii bowling. Outings are planned but he has not yet went with them. We have had a great experience and they are easy to work with. The facility is nice and clean.

They are doing a good job.
They are doing a good job. I don't have any complaints or concerns at all so far. They do everything so well it's hard to pick one thing that they do particularly well. It's clean and the staff is friendly. They are very attentive, all of the good stuff you look for, they do well.

We love it, my mother is so happy there.
We love it, my mother is so happy there. They have so many activities she had a sheet with all the ones she wanted to do highlighted. They take them on day trips. The food is wonderful there. Breakfast is her favorite meal, it's made to order, she can have her eggs just the way she wants them, and they make her oatmeal just the way she likes it.
