Independent Living

Independent Living Communities provide seniors with a handy equilibrium between an opportunity to live an independent lifestyle and not having to worry about the basic tasks of housekeeping and chores. Meals, leisure activities and housekeeping responsibilities are taken care of while you are unencumbered to use your time as you wish. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy the opportunity to be among peers, surrounded by others of similar age groups and interests. Typically consisting of a private living area and a full kitchen, these communities offer homes with many of the amenities of apartment life but with none of the hassle. Guests can be invited over and entertained, and more time can be spent with them with the basic maintenance of daily chores out of the way. While policies differ between communities, a number of residences allow cats and dogs as well. Nursing and health care services can always be arranged for with independent care providers if desired. There are a variety of advantages and expenditures to balance while deciding on an independent living community. It is important to learn if these services are included in the service plan: Waiting list deposit, field trips, laundry, private phone, initial assessment fee, meals, parking, and transportation. The conveniences associated with independent living include community activities, fitness center & swimming pool, healthcare center, game/TV room, beauty salon & barber shop, laundry service, restaurant-style dining hall, and security guards.
