Independent Living

Independent Living Communities provide individuals with a nice equilibrium between living an independent lifestyle and not having to concern themselves with the basic tasks of housekeeping and chores. Basic chores such as meal preparation and housekeeping are handled by staff and a calendar of recreational and leisure activities is provided, allowing residents the autonomy to use their time as they wish, free from daily responsibilities. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy an opportunity to be among peers, in a community with others of similar age groups and backgrounds. Typically consisting of a private living area and a full kitchen, these communities offer residences with many of the amenities of apartment life but with none of the hassle. Guests can be invited over and entertained, and there will be more time to spend with them with the basic maintenance of daily tasks out of the way. While policies vary between communities, numerous residences allow cats and dogs as well. Nursing and health care services may always be arranged for with private care providers as desired. There are an assortment of costs and advantages to consider while selecting an independent living community. It is important to determine if these amenities are covered in the plan: housekeeping, move-in fee, initial assessment fee, internet access, wellness program, meals, field trips, and utilities. The benefits and amenities that pertain to independent living include beauty salon & barber shop, security guards, private rental hall, healthcare center, community activities, concierge services, fitness center & swimming pool, and laundry service.
