Independent Living

Independent Living Communities provide individuals with a nice equilibrium between an independent lifestyle and not having to worry about the basic tasks of housekeeping and responsibilities. Food preparation, recreational activities and housekeeping duties are taken care of while you are unencumbered to use your time as you wish. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy the opportunity to be among peers, in a community with others of similar ages and backgrounds. Typically consisting of a private living space and a full kitchen, these communities offer residences with many of the amenities of apartment life but with none of the hassle. Guests can be invited over and entertained, and more time can be spent with them with the basic maintenance of daily tasks out of the way. While policies differ between communities, a number of residences allow pets as well. Nursing and health care services may always be arranged for with private care providers if desired. There are an assortment of advantages and expenses to keep in mind while determining an independent living community. It is important to learn if these services are covered in your care plan: utilities, move-in fee, Waiting list deposit, parking, initial assessment fee, laundry, field trips, and cable TV. The luxuries that pertain to independent living include game/TV room, fitness center & swimming pool, private rental hall, laundry service, restaurant-style dining hall, healthcare center, transportation, and community activities.
