About the facility Kaego's Richman Gardens

Kaego's Richman Gardens Community Centers were the first in California to be built with a specially designed floor plan for those with Alzheimer's disease and memory impairment. Each care center is spread across two acres of land and offers extensive walking paths, beautiful rose gardens, and sunny patios for the resident's enjoyment. We have created the ideal secured environment, which alleviates stress and anxiety. The spaciousness, high ceilings, soft lights, warm colors and home-like atmosphere of our centers further contribute to the feeling of freedom and independence of our residents.

We provide the highest level of personal services under the direction of qualified licensed, professionals. Our goal is to maintain the highest possible level of functioning and independence. Our staff is involved in ongoing training including philosophy of care, behavioral management and effective communication. Many of our caregivers have been with us for over 10 years and understand the special needs of those with Alzheimer's and related dementias.

I toured this community

I went on a tour here and it was nice. The staff answered all my questions. This was a smaller community, I saw a small room that was right next to the dining area. It would be hard to move around here for my husband. The outside could've been nicer. I would recommend families to tour this place before making a decision.

10 STARS ????????????????????

There really needs to have option for ratting this place on a scale up to 10 !! That's the care level my parents and family members have received over the last few years . Our family knows 1st hand after pulling them out of a 5 star facility because of the cold in personal environment they were subjected to. We were told because of the disease (Alzheimer's),no matter where they would stay they would never be happy ! Well....From the moment my 93 year old mother and 95 year old dad walked in to the beautiful Richman Gardens , they began calling it their home !!Every body , and I mean everybody there has the training in memory care to provide the very best care possible with a (like my own family ) culture .. The 24 hr care is exceptional . In January my mother succumbed to the ravages of Alzheimer's.. their staff were there tending to her and my father's every need through the moment she drew her last breath . Now as Alzheimer's does it damage to my father , , they continue to care and comfort him as he adjusts to the remaining years with out his wife of 72 years . God bless Richman Gardens and their loving and caring staff .. Gratefully [Removed] New Orleans La.

Living at Richman Gardens

My parents have resided at Richman Gardens for 2 1/2 years and this place has been perfect for them! even thought this is a memory care facility, it feels more like a home. My parents were at another facility where they felt locked in and they hated it!..We had to move them out quick! Here at Richman Gardens they are able to walk around the Beautiful gardens and feel as though this is home. I have such a good relationship with the staff and they treat me like their own family member. They have gone above and beyond the call of duty to insure my parents happiness, and this just shows me how sincere the staff is about making them feel cared for and loved. Thank you Richman Gardens!

The Staff is very friendly and easy to work. The facility is very nice, clean and well kept. The Garden area is spacious and there are many tables and chairs for family and friends to use. I was impressed with the Staff's willingness to work with Hospice and my family members outside Doctors.

Excellent Place for Your Loved One!!

My Mother has been here 2 1/2 years and I always recommend this place. The people that work here are all so caring and attentive. They call me and let me know if she even has a skin tear which she does to herself at times. [Removed] the med tech is exceptional and always gives me updates when I come to visit. She is wonderful! All of the staff have been their for a long time and I must say they are all wonderful and VERY caring people. We feel very fortunate to have found this place. We like the smallness, the beautiful gardens, and it's not "warehouse like" as my dad says. The food is exceptional from a cook they have had for I believe 20 years who makes it all from scratch. I feel very good about having my mom here and I want to also mention [Removed] and [Removed] who manage this place for always being there for me with anything I may want or need and for just being such nice people. I am always welcomed when I visit and so thankful for such great care. It's hard to have a parent in a home, but this is most definitely the place if you need one for memory care. They always have activities going on from bingo, memory games, gardening, music, bible study, sing- alongs and a lot more. They have family day once a month with food and music for everyone to enjoy! I highly recommend Richman Gardens for the great care your loved one will receive from all the VERY caring people who work there, you will not be disappointed.

Went by to schedule a tour. Series of phone calls were disorganized and poor response time. Looks quite small. Looks more like a board and care, we need more stimulation. Geographically far and not freeway close.

Inadequate Accomodations

The only activity that I every witnessed while my parent at Richman Garden was watching the residents watch TV. The accommodations are less than adequate. All of the residents walked through my parent's room to get to the dining area. My parent had to walk through the dining area and then down a hallway to get to a bathroom. We were charged for a private room, even though my parent was in a double room. The staff was very caring.

Richman Gardens

I have only good things to say about Richman Gardens...my mother was at Richman for over 3 years and she always felt safe there which was a big thing for her and us. My mom was suffering from COPD, heart problems and at the last stage of her life dementia and cancer. She passed away at the age of 88 and we felt she was always taken care of very well. The staff would always call me if there was any problems that came up. Richman only has 26 beds but we loved her at a smaller place where she knew everyone. A beautiful small park is located right across the street where you can roll the wheelchair and sit in the sun or under a shade tree. The kitchen is a little small but besides that I have nothing but good to say. Linda W.

Very sad... Cook was sick with a bacterial or viral infection. My father and two other residents got sick. All three died. Beware of cleanliness, patients being left in wheel chair hours at a time, not bathed daily, teeth brushed daily, hair brush used by multiple people. The list goes on..Only plus were John Paul and he's not there any more.
