An Independent Living Community provides residents the ability to live an active life while making sure their care requirements have been fulfilled. You or your loved one can live their lives as they wish while their food is cooked by a professionall chef, housekeeping and laundry duties are handled by staff, and social activities are scheduled and organized. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy an opportunity to live among peers, in a community with others of similar ages and interests. Typically comprised of a private living space and a full kitchen, these communities offer residences with many of the amenities of apartment life but with none of the hassle. Guests can be invited over and entertained, and more time can be spent with them with the basic maintenance of daily chores out of the way. While policies vary between communities, many residences allow pets as well. Nursing and health care services may always be arranged for with independent care providers if desired. There are a variety of advantages and expenditures to balance when choosing an independent living community. It is important to determine if these amenities are covered in the service plan: transportation, parking, initial assessment fee, private phone, field trips, meals, internet access, and cable TV. The amenities associated with independent living include concierge services, laundry service, transportation, golf course, beauty salon & barber shop, security guards, fitness center & swimming pool, and community activities.
