Negative

I had very high hopes for this community as I had read many good reviews. Was looking for a place for mom in the memory care so I decided to tour. Biggest mistake, walking in the community the residents were sleeping no activity engagement. Residents walking around looked lost no care provider seemed to be around to help. I was looking for a community with memory care assisted living not a SNF or psych ward that’s what it looked like. Very disappointed as I had high hopes not only because it had great reviews but because I had a very close family friend stay in this community and they had an extraordinary stay.

Great place

Coming into Atria Del Rey you’re always greeted by a friendly smile even when walking down the hallway. The office staff has an open door policy and always willing to help with any questions you may have. The interaction I see between staff and residents are as if they’re family. They truly care and respect their residents. With regards to any issues that may arise, communication is big factor. Atria will work with the residents and family to accommodate what is best for everyone. With that being said it is a place I would recommend for your loved one.

Just Like Home

My dad had a bit of a rough start to his stay, but then everything was fixed. My dad did a short term stay and was there for 3 week. I have to say that Atria was a good place for him. It was easy to get a hold of management of there was an issue and the staff was very very patient and accommodating. They did everything they could to make his stay comfortable and I appreciated that. They had fun activities and the place was clean and kept up. I’d send him there again.

Facility is clean and comfortable. Food looks appetizing and mom enjoys it. Caregivers are kind, and most seem attentive and patient. Facility may be a little short handed. Administration has been nice and helpful. Conveniently located.

Warm Caring Staff

We have a parent at Atria Del Rey in Memory Care. The staff has been very responsive and attentive to our father’s needs and very communicative and supportive with our family. All have been beyond accommodating and it is evident they work hard to keep their residents happy, safe and well cared for.

So positive

Since the moment I walked on to Atria Del Rey in Rancho Cucamonga, I knew it was the place for my dad. Welcoming and kind, smiles and so helpful. The transition was perfect. It was all about my dad, his safety and needs. Not for a moment did I have any second thoughts. Daily activities and menus were visible. I watched an exercise class and everyone was smiling and participating. I feel so blessed that Atria Del Rey was available to our family. Definitely am expressing my experience to everyone I meet. Thank you so much to all staff at Atria Del Rey Rancho Cucamonga.

Our family's experience

It was a very difficult decision to place my mother in assisted living, she really wanted to stay in her own home but aging at home was dangerous AND did not provide mental, physical and emotional stimulation. My mother often shares how much she loves her community, she enjoys the food, is very active and sleeps well after her busy days. The staff is very special, they take the time to get to know their residents and understand all of their idiosyncrasies. We love Atria del Rey!

Friendly at First

The facility is clean and very nice looking. The front desk / check in were very nice. Looked like they had a lot of activities. The experience when we first got there and they were showing us the place it was amazing it was awesome... The moment we sign our contract they didn't talk to us anymore they weren't friendly anymore.... Administrative people they weren't like they were when they were trying to get you to sign up. They were added to exchange right after they got to decide the contract which was really sad...... The nurses that administer the pills were not good. There was so much confusion in what medication to give or not give and one of them knew something and the other one there was no communication..... Their doctor and nurse that came to see the patients there weekly was a 5/5. It's so expensive, and you get charged for every little thing...... I think the cost was a little bit high..... They were trying to bill insurance months after my brother in law passed away and I talked to them and they still sent the billing in. I had to report them. It took months to get a refund back.

Outstanding Place for Mom

From the moment we arrived, everyone at Atria Del Rey has been pleasant and caring. Mom has been there for about a week. I visit with her daily. She is happier than I've seen her in a while. She likes the other residents and the staff. The staff are always helpful and caring. She enjoys the activities. The meals are outstanding, and the kitchen staff are helpful in meal planning.

Atria Del Rey: Many years and still great!

My mother has lived here for many years and she has loved it!!! Loves the staff, the residents, the food, the activities. Although she is less able to do many of the activities now, she still enjoys. Atria now handles her medications and helping her get around as needed. As well they help with personal hygiene whenever needed. The facility is always clean, decorated, and happy. We’ve never had any problems with the facilities. Always in great condition. Dining room and food are excellent. They have also coordinated transportation as needed. We, and my mother, highly recommend Atria Del Rey!!! And we have many years to prove it. Thank you!

A Place for Mom has scored Atria Del Rey 9.7 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.

We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.

Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
