The staff at Waltonwood Cherry Hill went above and beyond, they were all so friendly. We just felt that my loved one needed more care than they could provide here.
I felt the tour was perfunctory. I had the sense that they give these tours a lot. There was an attitude of "This is what we have - take it or leave it." The building itself, while older, was pretty well kept. It seemed to me that there was more of an emphasis on independent living rather than assisted living. And we were looking at assisted living for our loved one.
My parents struggle with the fact they have to fill out the menus all the time as it is tedious. I think it would be nice if there was some sort of a menu support. Reason for giving 4 out of 5 on overall value, if they are older or downsizing they try and push them into assisted/memory living right away even if not needed. When things have come up they do report it and communicate quite well.

My dad had Alzheimer’s. Waltonwood’s strengths are independent/assisted living. For memory care the majority of staff didn’t understand Alzheimer’s. Many staff were frequently sitting in a corner of the common TV room on their phones. When I would arrive to see my father and asked questions about how he was doing, it seemed to disturb them from their leisure. Those familiar with Alzheimer’s know, many patients wander in the evening/night. I got frequent calls from staff telling me that they couldn’t keep an eye on my father and that they weren’t staffed for this. They warned if things didn’t change we would need to spend the night or pay for a nightly sitter. This was on top of paying [fee removed]. Thankfully we moved him to a facility that understood/is able to care for people w/memory loss. Waltonwood is a large facility that has memory care because they need to offer it, but they do not specialize in it. We were treated poorly by staff, as they felt my dad was a nuisance.

I toured Waltonwood Cherry Hill and it was a beautiful facility. It was very clean and very organized. I thought it was too large, much larger than the community I chose. I chose another community because I didn't think the care would be quite as good as what she's getting, like the staff knowing what everyone names are.
Beautiful community, it was too big with large hallways with lots of floors.
For someone that is very hesitant in leaving their home and going into another care community overall the experience has been wonderful. They assign residents to be a meet and greet partner to show the new residents around. She has been able to to participate in many activities and loves the food. She is able to go to the dining room and socialize with others and this gives me a piece of mind.

we toured Waltonwood Cherry Hill and upon first impression it was great. we chose another community that peaked our interest a little more.
We chose Waltonwood mainly due to the convenient location and the price was comparable to others. So far things seem to be going ok for mom. There are some staffing shortages and that has affected the quality of care a little bit. overall I would recommend them to others looking.

I thought Waltonwood Cherry Hill was a very attractive place. But Mom felt it was overwhelming. I liked that there seemed to be a range of services, so if her needs increased, they would still be able to assist her.
Our first impression of the place was that it was very clean and just overall really nice. Given our parents age we liked that they had a chance to interact with the other residents, and we do think the value for cost is great.

The information was good, and the community was a bit pricey. Overall not a good fit for our loved one.
My mother lived there before Covid, and the service was OK. During Covid all activities were cut off, and I could not visit my mother. She deteriorated very rapidly, finally ending up in the hospital. I gave notice I was moving her out and had movers lined up. I was told I had to use their movers which were not available for two weeks. I was told I would not be charged for the days until their designated mover could move her out. I had another mover, but was not allowed to use them. My mother passed away, and I was charged close to $900 for the days until their mover was able to move her out of her apartment after her death. I find them very uncaring and I was shocked that they charged this extra fee when it was their fault their mover was not available. Be very wary of these people as they only care about profit.

We chose Waltonwood Cherry Hill because it had a good combination of social activities and it was a bigger community so there would be more interaction with other residents. He is in a 1 bedroom apartment and I feel like it is pretty spacious. They have a lot of different floor plans that you are able to choose from as well which is nice. They just were able to vaccinate the whole community and it was all done within the facility so no one had to go out to get it. I would definitely recommend to others who are looking.

Prior to covid we felt the communication was lacking at times, you definitely had to be more proactive. However since covid they have taken additional steps to improve that. We like the homeyness feeling it brings, and the staff really treat the residents as if they were their own family.

Waltonwood Cherry Hill is clean and everyone was very professional on the front end. The rooms are very nice and the food was excellent. We were able to eat a few meals there before COVID. We would recommend this community to a family or friend.

This location is not safe for any senior. They neglect their residents, allow them to sit for hours in soiled diapers, and there allow ants and bugs to crawl all over the resident's rooms. If you love the senior in your life....do not send them to any Waltonwood communities.

[Name removed] was a delight and very helpful with educating to help make the right decision. The facility is gorgeous and definitely resident focused so they are engaged, active and well cared for. Rooms options are safe & spacious. Definite worth tour & made our top 3 list to visit with mom.

We have moved in and lived there for 6 weeks; so, far all is well. The food is very good; however, there is often a fifteen minute wait to enter the dining room --difficult for some to stand and wait. There was a problem with seating in the dining room, but a table was opened and a place made for us. Staff is planning to improve that with a change in seating procedures. If one is dependent on cell phone, reception in first floor apartments is virtually nil; we installed a land line. I would recommend this place even with a few problems because staff is trying to do better.
