My parent has been at the Lodge for a few years. Overall, we have had a good experience. There was a short time when things were not as good as they had been. Lodge has a new director and he is making a positive impact. I am very pleased with his plans for moving forward. My parent is safe

My parent has been at the Lodge for a few years. Overall, we have had a good experience. There was a short time when things were not as good as they had been. Lodge has a new director and he is making a positive impact. I am very pleased with his plans for moving forward. My parent is safe, happy and well cared for. The entire staff is helpful, friendly, and very caring. The food is tasty and a good variety. The kitchen staff will try to accommodate special requests. I would recommend the Lodeg to my friends and family.

Awful idea to consider the Lodge for your family
I would leave zero stars if I could. The staff is constantly changing and appears uncaring and clueless. The Lodge would be my last resort to place a loved one. There is bickering and drama on a daily basis and the residents are not at the forefront of the Lodge. My Aunt had a terrible experience here. It is outdated and overpriced.

Only for very healthy elderly that will never get sick
Mom needed to go to rehab. Insurance turned it down. She was being released from hospital. Called lodge all morning approx 10 x no answer til a worker in hallway picked up. We were unable to work things out and poor weak mama sat in the lobby as they refused to take her back as they didn’t have enough nursing care to do so. Sister pushed and pushed and finally agreed if she had home health care come in each day she could return to her room. They were not prepared at all to for this situation. It took two hours being there in person to find a way for mom to have her room back. Why didn’t they answer their phones so this could be worked out before she was discharged. Why did they not immediately at least have some other option for us to consider? Why were they not more caring? This was the last straw. We may need to get a lawyer involved.

Overall satisfactory
[name removed] really likes all of the caregivers there. Recently, there was a change in administration. [name removed] says many employees are leaving. I don't know if that is accurate. I have had lots of difficulty getting my calls returned. [name removed] said that she does not like the food, but she can also be very picky. She does not participate in any activities.

A great place for loved ones
We really like the smaller scale of The Lodge since our loved one does have dementia - the community is not overwhelming at all. Overall we have been very impressed with the whole operation. For us, the value is worth it because she is happy and the people have been great and the location works out best for our family. The meals and dining service is excellent, she is really enjoying the food and meeting new friends. We are very happy with our choice, the entire experience has been outstanding and we would recommend it to other families.

The Lodge at Natchez Trace
We're very pleased with The Lodge at Natchez Trace. We have an appointment tomorrow morning with one of their nurses who will be evaluating our loved one. Their evaluation will determine if they can accommodate her level of care, but we certainly have appreciated what everyone has done for us at this point. I don't know anything more I could expect or want that's better than The Lodge. We have family at church we've recommended to The Lodge to and they moved in about a week ago. We toured a few other places and our decision to choose The Lodge was unanimous. It has a homey atmosphere and the people were very friendly. The people have been great and we've had no complications in working with them. My loved one has appreciated the attention she's gotten. She likes the food overall, which has been good.

Ratings are affected by COVID staffing issues to some degree. Also my mom was a bit too active for the population. They were less mobile than she is. The sales staff was nice. [name removed] is wonderful and the room was great. I think the food was so bad as was the service. The people that worked in those departments were just low level and seemed quite frankly dirty and rude. The average age of resident seemed much older than my mom. Nursing services were ok but not great.

All (very) good so far ????????
I am impressed with the 2021 management and staff. Not long ago we were evaluating options and a fscility nearby had fifteen (15) Covid cases and The Lodge had none. Virtually everyone we have met there has been professional, caring, snd flexible. It’s all good.??

Highly recommend
We chose this facility because she really liked the atmosphere, the location, the view from her balcony, and the fact it is a smaller facility. The room sizes here are pretty big compared to a lot of others that we toured. She is very happy here and I would definitely recommend them to others looking.

Well above average
It is a reasonably priced, reasonably caring, and reasonably acceptable place to put your loved one. The food quality varied. The room size and layout of the community was good. Outdoor space was limited. Staff had a range of abilities and concern, in general the staff was more than acceptable. Certain members of the staff were above and beyond excellent. The management was very good.

INCREDIBLE STAFF! They treated my grandmother like family for 3 years in memory care. They would call and update us. In the beginning when her mind was better, she had plenty of activities to do. They are great about taking them out different places to stay active. The food is great. The staff really takes care of their people.

Disappointed with the wrong turn
I have family here. This business has taken a negative turn and care has gone down significantly. Employees are not happy. Many say they are unhappy and looking to work somewhere else. Employees and other families say that the Nursing Director has checked out. Many family members and residents never see the new Executive Director. Disappointed.

Unprofessional
BAD EXPERIENCE! Our mother has enjoyed a super positive experience at Keestone, an assistant living facility in Florence, Al for nearly four years. Unfortunately our family has to elevate her care to a Level 1 (Beginning to Intermediate) Memory Care Facility. Our family elected to evaluate local options with a similar family environment as Keestone. We arrived at The Lodge at Natchez Trace on Sunday, [date removed] to see if the facility was an option for us. Following a positive tour with the nurse on duty we were introduced to [name removed] the Executive Director of the facility. Based on The Lodge having a Level 1Memory Care Unit facility where sundowner residents are locked in from 6 PM to 6 AM, we thought it was a logical transition option for our mother since she is socially interactive with fellow residents at her current facility during the day but would on occasion shift into roaming after dinner and evening. Prior to the Lodge we had visited 13 facilities so we had a good feel of Nashville's pricing structure for her level of care. During our conversation I brought up the pricing question to [name removed]. His initial base day rate seemed reasonable for 1 of the 5 units available in the Level 1 Memory Care Unit but indicated there were a number of adds on that could impact the final number. During the course of our conversation I mentioned our budget was somewhere in the $4,200 - $4,300 range. As we continued to listen we started to feel a sense of vagueness as it relates to a concrete price structure with several potential add on costs versus the simple tiered option plans we had experienced in our earlier meetings. In light of the vague add on costs we were happy to hear [name removed] offering to send someone to Florence the next day to provide an assessment of her current dementia state. Since we felt the facility landed in our top 4 we were agreeable to [name removed]'s offer since our mother was leaving a rehabilitation center on Wed. [date removed] and encouraged him to call [name removed], the Executive Director of Keestone, to hear her assessment of our mother's needs. In light of the short time span, I left the following day to start the process of packing her items at Keestone. On my drive down I ended up talking to [name removed]'s office since he was busy. They had talked to [name removed] and she said my mother was a high flight risk. I was definitely surprised by the comment since my mother had not left the Keestone premises without her family being with her for nearly four years in residence. I called [name removed] to hear what had transpired in her conversation. She had expressed the same general information regarding our mother as we had provided [name removed]. I called The Lodge and finally reached [name removed] and told him of my conversation with [name removed]. I suggested I three way [name removed], [name removed] and me on a call in order to insure we were on the same page from a communication standpoint. I followed up with the three way call and [name removed] added [name removed](one of the staff nurses), in on the conversation ([name removed] made a comment about another nurse on earlier call but I don't recall her name). I asked [name removed] to repeat her assessment which was identical to what she had told me and matched what I had told [name removed]. In general, [name removed] and [name removed] where somewhat quiet since the information provided on our call didn't match [name removed] and [name removed] version of what [name removed] had said. I encouraged [name removed] to send the staff person he had offered on Sun. to perform their own assessment to insure they were clear on their end. He said he would call back after further consultation with his staff. [Name removed] called the next morning at 10:28 AM, [date removed] and left a message on my cell saying they would be accepting my mother, if we were agreeable on our end. He said [name removed] would be following up from their end (Since the 24/7 unit was full the acceptance was obviously for one of the 5 available units in the Level 1 Memory Care Unit). After I finished lunch I called The Lodge at 12:41 to follow up on what the cost would be if we elected to move our mother to their facility (Since my ringer was off during lunch I didn't hear the call from [name removed] at 12:28 where she left a message with their pricing on my cell phone that I didn't hear until after my call in to her). When I talked to [name removed] she said the price was $4,829 per month. I mentioned our maximum budget was in the $4,200 to $4,300 range and if they agreed to that price range we could move forward on our end. She indicated she would have to talk to [name removed]. After waiting till 3:02 I called back requesting to talk to [name removed] but he was unavailable. After hanging up I reached out to [name removed] who was in charge of overseeing my mother's physical therapy treatment at Mitchell/Hollandsworth Rehabilitation Center for the past three weeks to see if she would ring The Lodge and provide her assessment of my mother's condition (her assessment of my mother was in line with [name removed]'s comments) in order to see if they were correctly pricing her care. At 3:06 I followed up with another call to [name removed] who was unavailable and talked to [name removed] again. I requested she talk to [name removed] at Mitchell Hollandsworth in order to make sure she was clear on my mother's exact care needs. At 3:56 I received a call from [name removed] saying they had decided to not accept my mother since their staff (nurse and [name removed]) viewed her as a high flight risk. I was amazed at the total reversal from [name removed]'s voice mail that morning accepting my mother for their facility. I asked if they had talked to [name removed] regarding her assessment of our mother and [name removed] said [name removed], a nurse and her had talked to [name removed] and they collectively felt she was a high risk. I requested she connect me to [name removed] to discuss and she said he was unavailable. I expressed my displeasure for being held up for two days in this process in addition to [name removed] not following up on sending someone on Monday from their organization to access my mother's condition. When I told her to have [name removed] call me or I would provide a negative review on line of how unprofessional they had handled this process, she said she would have him call me back. After I hung up I called [name removed] to hear what had transpired in her conversation with their staff. [Name removed] said only [name removed] and her had talked and no other individual was on the call ([name removed]'s comment about [name removed] and nurse on call???). I asked [name removed]if she and [name removed] talked on a speaker phone with [name removed]. She responded they were not on the speaker phone and it was only the two of them on the call. [Name removed] repeated their conversation back to me. In essence her perspective of my mother's mental assessment was in line with [name removed]'s assessment. When I didn't receive a call from [name removed] that day or the following business day of Wed. [date removed] I elected to follow up as indicated to [name removed] with my on-line rating of their company in light of their unprofessionalism. Several notable missteps: 1) [Name removed] told us he would send someone to Florence the next day (Mon) to make an assessment of my mother's mental condition. Result: [name removed] didn't send anyone to Florence for my mother's assessment. If he had followed through all of this wasted time could have been avoided. 2) Follow up four way conference call between Keestone ([name removed]), The Lodge at Natchez Trace ([names removed]) and myself where [name removed] provided a clear assessment of my mother that she was not a high flight risk which
