My parents’ main problem with Morningside is that the food is simply not edible. Their expenses are much higher than they should be because they have to buy groceries yet they are limited in what they are able to cook since they only have a microwave. It doesn’t help that the wait staff ignores them or is just outright rude. The dining room manager’s son needs to go and his daughter is a pest. And the activities are so lame for the ones who are independent. Coloring? Really?? How about using the bus to take folks to the Frist or Cheekwood or anywhere entertaining.

  • Heart-broken

Sadly, our experience at Morningside of Belmont has gone down hill since my mother arrived in March. It started out seemingly wonderful... but has declined in many areas. It is stressful enough to age, but to in a building that is under MAJOR construction and be moved about, living in dust, not treated with extra care and comfort in the midst of how hard it is, etc. is just so hard. Plus, the dining experience is AWFUL. I have come myself so that I could experience things first hand. Words cannot describe the level of disarray. While there are KIND employees for whom I am VERY grateful, the conditions at this facility are heartbreaking. The hardest part is we are in a financial bind and cannot just afford to pick up and move my mother somewhere else easily. I am heart-broken over what the residents are having to experience. I have reduced my stars from 5 to 1. I am praying something major happens to improve the experience of the residents.
