Personal items, expensive items go missing. Period. Luxury robes, spa products, jewelry. It’s been over 2 years since my grandmother was here, but they DID steal her belongings. At first, we thought she was paranoid when she constantly told us she was being robbed. Then we noticed that even her expensive bedding was no longer on her bed with zero explanation and she WASN’T incontinent....even by their own admission! They did not neglect, abuse, or mistreat her as far as we know and I’m not accusing them of that, at all!! However, all the very expensive items we bought for her just seemed to disappear and nobody could give us a clear answer as to why this happened. She was not allowed outdoor privileges, so she could not have gifted these items to others. They were simply taken from her. The gifts her family gave her for her comfort just stollen. Again....period. Hard to prove but harder to disprove when her ONLY caregivers had zero explanations as to where a nearly bedridden woman’s belongings went!! Now due to covid the only contact that we have is via phone and facetime and her items still missing. I spoke to the now new executive director and he has no idea whats going on with his team let alone help us out with any situation that we have brought to his attention. I don't think that direction of this place will improve as it keeps getting worse each day. I have given up with this place and the new director as it seems like they hire inexperienced people to sail this ship.

The caring and loving staff at The Etta at Shavano Park set them apart!

My mom has been a resident at The Etta at Shavano Park for three years. My sister or I visit her every day so I feel like we know what is going on. We love the staff - their care and love just set them apart. My two sisters who live in Houston and College Station always comment on how friendly and caring everyone is at The Etta when they visit Mom. I would definitely visit The Etta if you are looking for a place for your mom or dad.

Proud to be part of Brookdale Shavano Park Senior Living

Cannot say enough about Brookdale Shavano Park Senior Living..I am a volunteer at Brookdale Shavano Park. Most of my time is spent with residents during their activities, i.e. Bingo, exercises...etc...I work mostly with [Removed], the Activity Director. [Removed] has the distinction of being a marvelous people person....the residents and volunteers just love him....he is always so much fun...supportive, patient, and kind to all of the residents. Brookdale Shavano Park is well managed, clean, and friendly....I would recommend this facility to anyone looking for a safe environment, friendly staff, and excellent care services...
