All other Memory Care facilities we visited were small, behind locked doors in a regular Assisted Living facility, and depressing. The Auberge at Onion Creek is a large, open, indoor and outdoor space that allows great freedom of movement and variety in experiences for the Residents because the whole facility is locked. The Staff is helpful, very friendly, and the Residents are clean and appear well cared for. The same Chef has been with the facility for sometime, and our friend obviously likes the food because he has gained some weight since moving there. There are on site Physical Therapy services by PTs that go above and beyond, and a Nurse Practitioner for a local Gerontological medical group visits twice a week to evaluate Residents. We receive a call whenever there is any concern about our friend's health or new daily needs. Though not familiar with all the activities, I do know the musical programs are excellent. The last one I attended was a local Country and Western singer who was terrific. Some of the residents were up and dancing. The base rate did go up this year, and a number of the Residents who were there since our friend arrived a year ago have left.
