The medical staff kept me up to date on my Mom's condition, Father [name removed] called and talked to me and a counselor. Brookdale staff knew me when I came to visit and were friendly. I just felt I got lip service when I had some issues and took awhile to resolve. I told one person in charge of the dementia side I didn't want to complain but that was for my mom's comfort etc. They were supposed to keep her hearing aids at the nurses station and each morning put them in and at night keep them at their station. I don't think they did so and one of the hearing aids was lost. These were expensive. I had to buy a hearing headset amplifier for her to use instead. My suggestion would be ,if you have a loved one there be present as much as you are able to in order to get to know staff and let them see you are involved. But again dealing with a loved one with dementia it was harder for me to come visit each week because of what dementia does to a person.
