Brookdale Arvada was a small community and we liked the staff. They were open and communicate with us well. We decided to go with another community during the search.

I would give Brookdale a negative 1 if I could. The facility is large and the staff were all friendly during the tour and all, but they would not accept my loved one. They had no heart about it and I would not recommend them.

I have been to a few communities and they never treated me as well as the staff treats me here. I love the Friday Happy Hours they have.

I have never met a stranger in this community. I had a bad rash on my leg & they took such good care of me. There is always something interesting to learn here! It's very much home here.

Everything has there pluses and minuses. All in all I have been pleased with our experience. It is a comfortable and modest community. It is easy for my loved one to navigate. The main and common areas are clean. There was a time that my loved one needed to pull the cord for assistance, and there was a staff member in my loved one's room immediately. The staff are patient, kind, and caring. There is a flat rate each month. All the meals, snacks, encourage the residents to eat, laundry, housekeeping, activities, medication management, and transportation are all included in the monthly rate. There is someone that comes in to cut the residents hair and trim their breads. There is a podiatrist that comes in to check the residents. There is a nail salon for the residents to get this done once a month. The community is able to handle medication management, and they are willing to assist with bathing if necessary. The food is really good here. They have a secure unit for memory care; however, it is big enough for my loved one to go for walks. They have common areas, a library, and a courtyard that is strictly for memory care. The staff must let the residents out to the courtyard, so they know where the residents are. On top of everything else, Brookdale has hospice. They want to work with the resident to the end of life, unless the medical needs get to be too much. All the staff know my loved one by name.

It's a very friendly place but due to short staffing, they do not get to things as promptly as they should. I think it would be a fantastic place once they get fully staffed. This is a locked memory care unit. They had puzzles, coloring and other activities to stimulate their minds. They could do gardening, etc. They use email to communicate regarding any changes or updates with my loved one as well as phone calls from the staff.

The staff is passionate on taking care of us. The activities we do range from creative to educational to physical exercise and are always enjoyable. I know the staff care not only for me, but for my dog too! I have also made some great friends.
Such a warm and welcoming place. The staff is always so friendly and the food is always delicious!
When they did their intake on my loved one, they had a very specific assessment of his condition, and they said they could take him and keep him safe. They knew he was a fall risk. Yet he fell a lot in their care. They wouldn't help him eat, and he lost weight. After a week, I brought him home because they insisted I bring in a 24-hour companion for him because they didn't have the staffing to properly care for him. The value would have been very good if they could have taken care of him. They were understaffed at the time, which I understand is a common challenge right now. The only positive thing that came out of or experience is they did do a major overhaul of their policies/procedures for their intake process to prevent this from happening to future residents. The facility was very clean, and the staff were friendly - I was just very disappointed when they said they could help him and then they couldn't.

I thought this community had wonderful people and it was a wonderful place. My loved one was set to move in and then she refused to go so we had limited experience.

It's been very good so far. My loved one has not been there too long, but things have been clean. The caregivers are very, very patient, and very friendly and kind. During the last review the main woman had with our family, she said our loved one has adjusted well and is a model patient. She accepts their assistance and participates in the activities. All positive things. Nothing negative - no falls or bruises are happening. So far it's been a very positive experience.

It is a good place. Overall my mom is happy. It is a good place to live for an older person. My loved one would like to see a bit more variety of food. The community is close to family and that helps us see our loved one.

My wife only spent 2 months at Brookdale Arvada, but they were by far the best period of her last year. With all the COVID restrictions etc. The staff did a wonderful job at making her days the best they could be. From the CNA’s on the floor to all the support/ management staff, they all had a part in. They not only cared for her, but they worked well with me, to help me handle a very rough time for my family. Many Kudos to this facility.

I didn't have a good feeling about this place. It felt more like a sales pitch than truly understanding the needs of my parents. The amenities weren't as nice as the other two places.
