my mom loves it here.

The staff is very helpful and responsive and knowledgeable about memory care. They educate us about memory care and help ease our minds. Communication is good between the staff and our family and they keep us well informed. I would recommend this community to others based on my experience.

Great facility

We chose this facility because I like the surroundings and the staff members seemed very friendly, I was overall impressed. They do have 3 courtyards so you can go outside when it is nice and visit with your loved ones. They have been good with communication if anything comes up they call me and if I contact them they are timely with their response time. They seem to offer a lot of activities, they have a calendar full of things to do everyday. He does not eat a whole lot but I do know they have a good variety on the menu. I would recommend to others and already have.

my review of Farmington station

There has been some turnover in the community, my dad gets along with everyone there and the staff is very nice. They have had a good plan for covid and have kept the residence safe. The communication is also good when comes to covid and they have a weekly update letter. I would recommend this community to others

Problems, problems, problems

My father moved in on Dec. 23, 2020. A few days later we received a call at 11PM that he was being rushed to the hospital for chest pains. A few minutes later they called back to let us know they had the wrong patient and it wasn't our father. This was the first alarm bell. Shortly after that the beginning of Jan, 2021 they asked if we would move our father to another room costing over [fee removed] a year more because they were trying to accommodate new move-ins. My father is in the Compass unit which manages memory loss. This could cause unnecessary trauma. This was the second alarm bell. It's very difficult to talk to my father. You have to call a staff members cell phone, which is rarely answered. I cannot recommend this place to anyone that cares for their loved one.

Problems, problems, problems

My father was admitted on [date removed]. A few days later around 11PM my sister received a call that our father was being rushed to the hospital due to chest pains. A few minutes later they called my sister again to let her know they had the wrong patient. That was the first alarm bell. My father was there less than two weeks and they wanted us to move him to a larger room increasing the yearly cost by over $25,000.00. They said they needed the room to accommodate two families they were working with. The Compass unit deals with memory issues. This was the second alarm bell. It's a struggle to talk to him because there is no way to reach him other than to call a staff's member cell phone which is rarely answered. I cannot recommend this facility to anyone that cares about the needs of their family member,

Review of Farmington Station

My mother has been at Farmington Station Assisted Living for 2.5 years. The entire staff is caring and very resident focused. They are flexible with the individual needs of each resident. The facility is very clean and welcoming. All meals are nutritious and quite varied. We are pleased with the overall care and definitely recommend Farmington Station.

Thank you for your review! I love your description of our staff being "resident-focused". That means we are successfully delivering on our commitment to enhance each resident's Quality of Life. We try very hard to focus on the whole person with an individualized care plan and creative programming that provides just the right combination of services to optimize each resident’s overall well-being, independence, personal dignity and enrichment. This is our #1 Right Value!

A Great Place to Spend Sometime

I would tell my friends that we want to move in and it is awesome. The food is great, we haven't eaten there in a bit due to COVID. The activities include: exercise groups, theater, art classes, card games, and outings to go shopping. They even have transportation for shopping in the area. They have monthly concerts. The family is able to come and listen to the concerts with their loved ones, this was prior to COVID. The shopping area is less that a mile away from this community. It is a beautiful community and the people are very friendly.

Thank you for your review! We agree we have a warm and welcoming community that makes it easy for new people to move in, get involved in our social life, and form new friendships. Although the pandemic has impacted our ability to host large events for residents and their families, we remain a vibrant community. Everything you need is right here - supportive services, fine dining, fitness classes, social groups, religious services, fun activities and entertainment, salon services, and more!

Overall great experience

The staff is really good to our loved, the community has been kept very clean especially during COVID. Everyone seems very nice there. Right now the residents are taking walks because there aren't any activities to do. Before COVID they would take them to different activities, and sometimes to the Opera house near the shore, they would also take them to plays. They would go shopping, and would have happy hour. They just switched chefs, and they are having their food delivered to their rooms. Before they had a full menu but now they are getting only about two options to choose from, They are allowing around one-two residents to come sit at the dining room. They have only had two cases confirmed. They have done a great job keeping the residents safe.

I am happy to report that our community has resumed our robust calendar of daily programs and restaurant style dining! Many people think Assisted Living communities are still "shut down" due to the pandemic, but that is not the case. Although we continue to be a highly controlled environment focused on our screening, testing and sanitizing protocols to keep everyone safe (residents, staff and visitors), we are a vibrant social community. And, we are very much looking forward to the vaccine coming soon to our community!

A good place for mom

We chose Farmington Station because of the location, my mom lived in the area and all her kids are in the area as well. The room sizes are good. The food looks ok, some meals look better than others. They have a decent variety. I would recommend this community.

Thank you for your review. I have followed up with our Executive Chef to make sure ALL meals are delicious and nutritious with an appealing presentation. Unfortunately, this past year during the pandemic the presentation of meals did suffer (but not the quality of the food or menu options) as we had to deliver meals to every resident's apartment during the spring/early summer "self-quarantine". Now that we are back to our full-service dining program with three meals daily being served in the dining room we should be back to our top-notch service.

Would not recommend at the moment

Overall my impression was lacking on many levels. There are specific aids and staff members that are phenomenal, but the way they ran things and handled things are not ok. The nurses that work there have their own judgement based on what they think people should have for care vs what is in the contract. My mother had a 30 pound weight loss without any of the family members being notified. The old director was let go and the new director is phenomenal and I do believe that they have hope at Farmington Station.

As the new Executive Director of Farmington Station, thank you for your vote of confidence in me. I agree that we all have renewed hope, especially with the news that our residents and staff will have access to the vaccine soon. This pandemic has taken such a toll, resulting in such as stressful year for all of us but rest assured that our residents' physical health and emotional well-being remain my #1 priority. As a nurse, I know we are all looking to healthier brighter times ahead. I have been in constant communication with all families since I started here in August; I hope you know you can call me at any time - day or night - with any questions and concerns.

Great Location, good transitions,nice facility

Location was a big factor for us. It was important for my mom to be near family. The community layout is great. The nursing staff is really good, some of the care staff is not as engaged. The food and outdoor space are good. They have changed management since we moved in and that was a smooth transition.

Review of Atria Farmington

The Atria is a perfect place for my mother. She needs help with her daily routine, taking her medications and personal hygiene. Atria staff does all that and more. She has constant interaction, there is always something going on. There is also activities for families too. Pizza for a cause, Chili Pepper Cook - off, and many more. Plus she is treated with respect and dignity.

Review of Atria Farmington

My mother has lived at Atria Farmington for the past 18 months. The care provided by her aides and nurses is wonderful. The caring attentive staff easily adapt to the various needs of the residents. The atmosphere is positive and relaxed. The dining room flexibility allows meals to be enjoyed according to each resident's own time schedule. The outdoor patios provide enjoyable relaxing settings for the residents to socialize.

My dad has perked right up since moving to Atria. The admissions staff went out of their way to help him feel welcome. "Everyone knows my name", he says. He's 91 year old.
