I would tell others that this is where I would go if and when the time comes. The welcoming atmosphere and commodore stand out to me most. There have been some hiccups with the food as they have been a change of staff.
While the initial quote on the room seems higher than other places, veteran and other discounts can actually bring the room prices below that of other facilities. Costs for extras such as home health aids on the independent living side are less than other places and those services are not outside contractors. Amenities are numerous and it's obvious that the staff takes pride in what they offer.
The staff goes above and beyond to make the residence feel comfortable. They have made my parents feel welcomed. I would definitely recommend this community to others
The staff members at Brookdale Chatfield were very friendly to us. I was impressed with the activities that they had to offer as well as the price point. I did have a concern as the emergency door going into the apartment hallway was broken and would not lock, we had been complaining about it for a long time and it was just now fixed almost a year later which is very concerning and a safety issue. My mom said they also do seem to be stingy about the food and the portion sizes that they serve to their residents. Overall, I would recommend this community.
We chose Brookdale Chatfield because of the location, it was closer to my parents friends and family. The apartment sizes here are very good, my parents had a 1 bedroom with a den. The food was pretty good, they had a big variety on the menu. The best part about the facility is they are making new friends. I would recommend the community.
There is a corporate tight-fisted approach to management that permeates the place in many ways. Some has to do with administrative slip ups too numerous to list. We found short staffing affecting quality in food delivery, maintenance calls and other areas. The place is kept tidy; many activities are lightly attended, and some were kept in place only after resident objections to cutting them. There is much to do, but much of that is outside the facility in the Hartford area.
My mom is doing so well at Brookdale Chatfield. It is an older building but well kept up and they have a nice area for the residents to visit. My mom really likes being a part of all the activies and going on the many field trips they offer, she likes getting to go out to lunch with the friends she has made there as well. Going to the dining area is the highlight of her day where she gets to socialize and the menu and food a very good. We felt that the Broodale Chatfield would be a great fit for my mom because when we did out tour both the staff and the residents were so friendly and welcoming. I would have no problem recommending Brookdale Chatfield to everyone.
We like the care at this community for my mom. The staff is nice and she is really liking living here. The community is clean and well maintained. We both like the menu of the variety of meals. The staff is helping here stay involved and I am happy knowing that she likes being active. We have been happy with the care and the value of this community and highly recommend the care for other families.
My mother really likes this community, and she is doing great with her move to this community. I'am very satisfied with her move to this facility. She is safe, and in very good hands. They are always updating the community. Everything is very well-kept, and looks great. The staff is wonderful, and very helpful. This is a community I would recommend, it is a wonderful place.
My father in law was off to a rough start, but now he is doing very well. He seems to be happy. They have gotten more residents so now he has more people to socialize with and join activities within the future. They keep the residents very busy. The place is clean and the food is very good, We would recommend this place!
