My mom thinks she’s prom queen
My mom has been with Danbury Westerville for nearly one year and absolutely loves it. From making friends, activities and even a beauty shop she is living her best life. It is not uncommon for me to have to find her because she’s at an event, exercise class, social hour or even a church service. I definitely have learned to call in advance. We celebrated her 85th birthday there last November and she invited all of her friends (thank goodness for Costco cake). I have nothing but good things to say about the staff, the nurses, the dining room staff, cooks - they have the endurance and patience of saints. I couldn’t ask for mom to be in better hands especially since she’s so happy there! Job well done Danbury Westerville! HIGHLY RECOMMEND and yes, my mom will even offer to show your person around.

Decent community, but stay involved
It was challenging for the first year, we had issues with room cleanliness and often, my Mother was not clean. After a few meetings with the Director and brining in outside Hospice, this has all improved. In addition, there is a language barrier with some of the aides

Welcoming, friendly staff!
There is always some kind of activity for the residents. Staff is super friendly. They really try to provide great service.
Severely under staffed though. Getting things done takes a long time.
Location was the primary for us. But the fact they offered transportation to doctors appts was necessary too. Parents didn't drive. I would rate that service at about a 3.

Enthusiastic acitivies leadership
Parkside's activities leadership is fantastic. They know the residents, and they plan and change up activities based on residents' interests and abilities. They encourage participation, even to the point of going to resident's rooms to bring them down. They truly care about them all.

My loved one has only been there for a few months so far, so can't say I have experienced the full facility yet. Good overall flow, prompt answers from staff, food readily available and usually tasty. The facility is in a convenient location near to many stores and events for outings with family members. They just updated all their furniture in the corridors. They are updating the carpet now. When all the carpet is updated I would increase the rating on the value for the money to 4.

A Wonderful Experience
Mom moved in following the loss of dad and a series of medical issues. After some trepidation, she has made friends and become active in many of the offered activities. The staff is friendly and accommodating. We couldn't have asked for better!

I had to move my dad from another facility without much time. From the first person I spoke with to the staff, everyone has been wonderful, understanding, kind, & patient. A fantastic experience.
Out of 6 places we visited in the Danbury Westerville area, Danbury was the only place where you saw staff openly engaged with the residents. Food is great. And the meal staff knows what they like and don't like. They've addressed any concerns we had in a timely manner. We've had a great experience with the Danbury.

My mother became a resident of the Danbury Community in Westerville 16 months ago. We had many choices in the area for assisted living, and we are so happy that we chose Danbury. The facility is welcoming and does a great job of keeping families informed.
The administrators are accessible and responsive, and I always feel that I can approach any of them with concerns and questions. I feel comfortable calling the front desk with questions and I am always met with quick responses.
The nursing staff has been kind and professional with my mom. She feels very comfortable with the care she has been given. I have had to call them in the middle of the night a few times when my mom was confused and could not find her call button. The responses were swift and they were quick to communicate with me after they saw her. The Director of Nursing has always been responsive to our needs and communicates with us regularly.
The cleaning and maintenance staff have been efficient and timely with mom's needed repairs and general cleaning. As with other staff, I always feel that they add a very personal touch to the services they provide. My mom enjoys having them in the apartment.
I am always impressed with the wonderful activities that are planned for the residents. The activities director spends a great deal of time planning special celebrations. The care and attention to these events make the residents feel special and add so much fun to the atmosphere of the different parties.
We are pleased to be a part of the Danbury family and feel my mother has received excellent care. We have referred several friends to the facility.

Attentive Staff But Could Use Improvements
This is a good place to go. The staff was very attentive during the week, and on the weekends it would go downhill. The staff was good to work with if I ever had questions or concerns over my loved one.
