Good Fit

It's a beautiful setting. It's peaceful. The residents have the opportunity to interact with others or stay in their apartment. They have a lot of activities going on, and there's always something to do every day. My loved one likes the food, and it's plentiful. It is an older building, so you do have some issues with that. But they are quick to respond to any needs.

My Review of Courtyards at River Park

The apartments were tiny. The activities were in different buildings, and this didn't make it appealing to participating in them.

Very friendly place

I love it here, the people are so friendly. I have met a lot of really nice ladies, we meet our in our courtyard which is a very pretty setting. It is an older community but they are working no renovations. It is a pet friendly facility. To get us in here they offered us a really good deal. However they did lie to us on a couple of things - we wanted a two-bedroom apartment on the bottom floor because of our dog and they said they would put us on the waiting list, but come to find out they don't have any two-bedroom apartments at all on the bottom floor. Also unless you have a serious maintenance problem they are not quick to respond.

Highly recommend, pleased with my experience

I am happy as a clam here. The activities seem to be well thought out, there is a wide variety of things to choose from and the residents all seem to enjoy them. We are shut down right now due to covid, but I am not complaining because that shows that they really care about the residents and our well-being. There is a long time employee who takes care of the kitchen and she is the heart of the community, she keeps up with everyone and knows all of the residents. They do have scheduled transportation, but I have kept my car since they do not charge you unless you get a covered garage. I am so pleased, my apartment is more than adequate for my needs. I would highly recommend them to other who are looking.

It is a good place for loved ones

Courtyards is way cheaper than any other community in the area, especially for everything they offer and all the great amenities. The community is very pretty and always well maintained. The gardens are maintained well and everything is surrounded by flowers. It is just so pretty.

Not Bad, But Could Be Better

Ask a lot of questions or look somewhere else. I feel that I didn't get the straight answers when I moved in here.

Be sure your loved one's wishes are honored!

My 97 year old aunt lived here in the Memory Care facility. She had clearly defined and legal DNR orders in place. When she was found unresponsive by the very sweet med tech, the tech was instructed to call 911 by the on-call licensed nurse. When EMS arrived, my aunt was RESUSCITATED even though they were given the printed DNR order! I have spoken with the medical director of EMS and they are revising protocols and retraining staff. When attempting to discern the protocol in place at The Courtyards, just getting a return call was problematic. It was very apparent that there was no written protocol with which the licensed staff was familiar. After calling corporate headquarters, I did receive a return call and was told that as they were not staffed with a licensed nurse 24/7, their "normal process' was to call 911 unless the patient is on hospice. If you want your loved one's wishes honored, you should apparently have them on hospice care.......

Great Faciity

My family and I have been more than satisfied with this facility. The staff is very professional and personable. I could not have found a place more suited to my needs. I am enjoying my stay and highly recommend it to others looking for a Senior facility that meets all your personal needs.

If you want to see this facility then call and make an appointment. You may have to wait if you drop-in for a visit or you may be turned away if there is no one available to escort you. What little I did see seems nice, but I did not see all of the facilities. They do have respite rooms. Incontinence supplies are extra, but you can buy your own.

I was very impressed, the friendless, the vive was wonderful. I loved the choice & configuration of the rooms. I was disappointed I'd need to pay the one time move-in fee; some have waived that.

Very nice property with good amenities. We didn't have the opportunity to interact with many residents and Mom felt things were too quiet for her.

Do Not Use Courtyard

My Mom lived at Riverpark. I would not recommend River Park to any family or friend. The facility is understaffed. In addition they DO NOT have reliable call pendants. The food service in some buildings is brought in from another building. So the food is not hot nor fresh. The attendant staff has double duty and serves dinner to residents. This creates timeframes when residents are not being taken care of due to dinner being served. Overnight care staff was terrible when Mom lived there. They would not answer pendant calls. Left filth in her bathroom. Dropped pills in hallways. After Mom passed away staff entered her room without family permission and took many of her belongings. Do not move a loved one into Courtyard.

I very pissed off former disrespected customer.

I was a tenant of [removed] at theb courtyards subhuman living facility. I lived there for over three months. The worst three months of living in anything up to now, I spent over a year living in a hootch in Vietnam, that was better than what I had at the courtyard from hell. I was rained out four times in the short time I stayed there. the last time there was approxiatmately 2 to 3 inches in the kitchen. The living area was 1 to 2;inches. I turned it in all four times no body gave a crap. The manager [name removed] is the biggest weiner loser of all time he has an nearly total black staff which is no big deal until you find out they are rude just like gehtto trash.i try to treat people the way I would expect to treat someone. Not because of a person's skin color. I turned them in to [name removed] the weiney. He took there side of the five so called servers. Another thing I know of elderly patients treated like crap. They think there is no escape because of being put there by relatives. My heart goes out to the people I left behind. I knew I had to get out as soon as possible because I knew it would come down to a physical altercation between me and [name removed]. I did not want to go to jail for hurting a scum bag like him. Yes I know I am 79 years old. I can still put him down in less than 30 seconds. I have done it several times in my life. I was a good Vietnam soldier. I haven't forgot all I learned over there. Sleep good [name removed] weak kneed [language removed]..yes I have kept it clean so it will be posted to possibly save some elderly individual from the abuse that is rampant at this so called senior help center. SO IF YOU ARE THINKING OF MOVING HERE. DON'T WALK RUN LIKE HELL TO ANOTHER CARE CENTER [name removed]

Pissed off

I have already written one review but since I have entered that one I have another problem. Three days ago i was hearing up hot wings in oven i was following instructions on the package to cook on 450 degrees. About half way thru the recommended cook time the light bulb blew up with a pop, I got up and looked to see what happened. I noticed that several pieces of the bulb. I picked out the pieces I could see then ate the wings. While eating the wings I noticed the crunching I didn't think to much about it at the time but it continued for several pieces of wings. I finally stopped and made sure I picked all the glass pieces out. The bulb was not supposed to be used for oven.

Don't walk away run.

I have only been a renter here for two or three months. I have enjoyed everything here with one exception. The so called servers in the dining rooms is the worst I have ever encontered. Any where and I have been all over the world. When I contacted the senior person in charge, he took the side of the five servers that I had words with. All this after he had admitted the females where not really servers, but nurses. I dont think they even nursed. I am 78 years old and I have experienced a lot of dealings with nurses, and a hell of a lot with servers. I tried to just tried to get my dinner. I am a Vietnam veteran and I try to treat people with respect, but when they are rude individuals I have trouble continueing to be civil. If you are thinking about renting here I would check it out very carefully and thoroughly. I have been through a lot as most elderly people have I don't need to to be treated like shit in my old age. Neither do you. I give this place 1/2 star.

This was basically just an apartment complex with buildings from the 80's, all with outside doors. There are food and cleaning options available at extra cost. We were not shown any amenities (if they have any). We saw a small dining room in the Assisted Living building and were told the other 2 dining rooms are the same. The apartment has a wood burning fireplace which would be unappealing to use since you would have to haul in firewood and then haul out ashes.

Frustrated in FW - Loved one of resident/client

Most of the aides are caring and compassionate, but the management team is awful. The director and head nurse are the worst! So many employees and residents have left because of them. They have a high turnover so then they have to call in temps who neglect the residents. DONT go to the Courtyards!!

Not a very cheery place. The one bedroom apartment we saw was odd.
