Great staff members / very accommodating for sure!
The ladies [name removed] (Directors of Community Relations) and [name removed]
were amazing getting my sister placed in their facility. I had excellent communication with them and they both provided an excellent experience and went above and beyond expectations in getting my sister into their facility! I give them both a 5!
It overall is a nice facility, they were very accommodating. Now that I have her in an AFH I'd never put her into assisted living again. The small format and hands on 1-2 caregivers in the AFH is so much better for my disabled sister.

Cascade Inn is a family-oriented retirement community offering independent living and assisted living in the energetic city of Vancouver, Washington. The craftsman-style building was built in 1979 and was renovated to modern standards in 2018. Refined amenities and marvelous design provide luxury and comfort.
Located in East Vancouver, Cascade Inn is 20 minutes from Portland, Oregon. The prime location offers an array of activities. Residents can explore Vancouver’s many historic sites, restaurants, and shopping strips. My mom has stayed at Cascade Inn twice this year for short stays/respite care. It's a nice facility, the staff is great, my mom loved playing Bingo. The free flowers from Trader Joe's on Sundays were a highlight for her. We always feel welcome when we are there. I would recommend Cascade Inn to others.

Food poisoning
I have relatives who live here. Many of the residents have gotten food poisoning in the last few weeks. This is the only place most of the residents eat. It’s concerning. There is a lack of help for some of these people

It's important to clarify that there is no evidence suggesting a widespread issue of food poisoning among our residents. Two cases have been identified, with one linked to a state-wide outbreak and the source still undetermined. Our team has been in contact with Clark County Public Health, who is researching this state-wide outbreak that has affected many places besides Cascade Inn.

Certainly we could have saved ourselves some stress if we would have started earlier. We knew Mom was going to need to move somewhere but we waited until it became an emergency.
But as far as the Community/Staff it worked out really well that we were able to basically meet everybody on their staff, which was really, really nice.

Positive Experience
My loved one loves the food. They have a variety of food options. There is a menu with items, and if the residents don't see anything that they like, they can pick something else. They have a lot of activities. They are very friendly, and they know the residents. They are very aware, and we are very impressed with them. They review my loved ones care every thirty days, which is a huge plus.

The tour with [name removed] was great. Even though it was virtual, we still felt like we had a great experience. We liked the fact that there was a selection for dining, from a small and more intimate/quiet environment as well as the standard dining area. They also had storage areas for residents. We ended up selecting a different environment, mostly due to the size of the rooms, and the price.

Whats going on with the kitchen????
I must say the people that run this are very nice and helpful however the food leaves a lot to be desired. The menu has not changed for 4 months, The food in the past has always been very good but lately it's terrible. When one orders a fish and baked potato and the potato comes on the plate with black hard skin that cracks like glass when you try to cut it and the coleslaw was forgotten when I asked for it it came to the table cabbage and no dressing on it we were told the cake was lemon and it was banana. My Mothers dinner looked terrible the ham looked okay her potato looked just like mine because she was suppose to have mashed but there were no mashed potatoes that night and the yams slapped on her plate were terrible. The food is included in the price and I don't know what's going on but it needs a lot of improvement.

Reliable and worth the money

Great overall facility
Cascade Inn has done a beautiful renovation in major areas of the facility. Overall very nice staff, very helpful & clean throughout. My Mom has only been there for a couple months but seems quite content after living 30 yrs. in her own home.

Disappointed; All About The $$$$
Overpriced
Staff don't adequately encourage my mom to engage in activities
Very much about the money -
Deceptive information given when we made choice to move in; hardly anyone my mom's age despite being told otherwise
Mom had far better care and amount of care provided for way lower price before. Cascade Inn offers a lot more activities, but since she isn't engaging... It's just not worth it. That's about the only thing they've got going for them, and it's not enough. I can't wait until I find a better "place for mom."
She's not a senior citizen yet. There must be something better.

Cascade Inn
We moved my father-in-law into Cascade because he needed more around the clock care than we were able to provide at home. We already knew people who had relatives there, so it was an easy decision. He was only there for a few weeks, but overall, it was a good experience. It’s an older facility, and they were in the middle of a remodel, but they still kept it very clean. The staff was really helpful and accommodating, and they helped to get him involved in the activities he was able to participate in like church services. Overall, I would recommend the community to others.
