We were pleased with them. We had a good experience. They're conveniently located, and the building faces the back 9 of the golf club. The admissions director was wonderful. They were very good any time we had a little problem - they called us back and got back to us quickly. My loved one was happy there, and we would use them again for a respite stay. The only problem was we couldn't get the cable TV to work, and the other residents said that was pretty typical.... Read more

Our tour at Brookdale West Hartford was fine. They didn't seem to have a lot of help though. When we walked around, I saw one woman passing out meds, and that was it.

We were pleased with them. We had a good experience. They're conveniently located, and the building faces the back 9 of the golf club. The admissions director was wonderful. They are taking very good care of my parents. The director is very responsive to any questions or concerns that we may have. They have movies everyday and my parents enjoy happy hour a few times a week. They have socials and musicians come in to the community. My loved ones have also made a lot of crafts. There is also a dining club and they can sign up to go out to a restaurant. They have also made a lot of friends while being here. This community also allowed for my loved ones to stay together and was still close to the area that they were used to.
Don't go there. My loved one has been in this community for the last year-and-a-half. Everything went downhill, such as food, transportation, activities. They stated they couldn't find driver. My loved one is very unhappy, and he was happy he moved in. In the last two weeks when I saw him he was upset about the food, and being stuck in the room. The food is being delivered to the residents' rooms at night due to COVID. We are able to see our loved ones by appointment only and limited 30 minutes. now.
We chose Brookdale West Hartford because of the cleanliness, the staff on the dementia unit, and the price. The room sizes are very good, my mom is in a duplex room she shares, but she has plenty of room for her belongings. I have not eaten here, but my mom likes the food. They have been absolutely wonderful through COVID, with making sure we were doing Facetime, patio visits, window visits, zoom, etc. My favorite part about this community would be the caring that the staff members have for the residents. They also care about the families. I would absolutely recommend.
My significant other says the food is really good. The activities they have are outings, they will plan activities on their weekly calendar. They take activity recommendations from the residents. The rooms are spacious, very clean. We really like the atmosphere, we could really tell it was going to be a great place. The way it was set up had a homey feel, very bright and relaxing. Its very inviting, they staff was always smiling, they are super nice. They are very attentive, the care provided is phenomenal, they are very compassionate. The staff has great communication, they have kept us up to date through email or letters. This community is very well rounded. Would recommend it to anyone.
Location played a big role in our decision. It is affordable. We like that its is a smaller community not one of those bigger places where someone can get lost in the shuffle. They could use more activities. They are taking good care of my mom, she is happy there.
My mother lived here for a year and a half and during that time the care was minimal. After being promised a bland diet, we were told once we moved in they could not accommodate the simple foods she required. Very unhealthy food which included bacon, sausage and heavy gravies with most meals. Staff often inattentive as residents asked to be taken to bathrooms.
Rooms are exceptionally bright and cheerful. High energy Assisted Living area very engaging and active.
We are really happy with this community they communicate very well with the family and great care of my dad. My dad used to only eat sandwiches now is eating everything, food is great. There is a nice courtyard to enjoy and although dad don't do many activities they are there when he does. The community is really clean also. I will recommend to anybody. I give them 5 stars.
We toured this community and like the community and the staff. The lunch was good and the community was clean on our tour. They also have nice activities for the residents We would suggest that families tour this community for the good options of care that are offered for a loved one.
My mom has transitioned very well here, she loves being a part of all the activities and going on the great field trips they offer and she also enjoys going to the dining room for her meals and socializing with the other residents there. The food is very good and they have a nice menu to choose from. I also like that they have a nursing staff the help monitor her meds as well. I would definitely recommend this community it is beautiful, and the staff really care about their residents.
We liked Brookdale West Hartford when we toured. The tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable. They showed us around and gave us good information. We found another Brookdale that for my loved one's needs better, but this one was very nice as well.
We toured this community for care for my husband. This was not what we wanted. This is in a city environment. The staff was nice. The menu was nice. They had nice activities for the residents that wanted to participate. We would recommend this community for other families.
We had a pretty good tour of this community. Everything went very well.
All is well for my mother since her move to this community. I'am comfortable with her move here, it is a nice place. They are caring for her, and her needs very well. I have not had any problems, or have any complaints about this community. I would recommend this community, it has worked out well for our family.
My tour of this community went pretty well. The staff was kind and informative. From what I saw everything appeared to be nice and clean. They offer nice resources. It was a good tour. This is a nice community with kind people.
Everyone at Brookdale is very friendly and helpful. My Aunt has transitioned very easily and well. It was a huge decision on my part to move her from Michigan to Connecticut. The atmosphere is very homey and relaxing.
Moved Mom into Brookdale not that long ago and she has yet to adjust to the move which makes things really hard. She's insisted on going back home so that stay will be short lived unfortunately. The staff have been nothing but nice and caring and tried their best to make it a great stay for Mom. The food always smells and looks good when I go visit and I wished it would work out but Mom just wants to be at home. I would most definitely recommend them!
I think in terms of the facility, and the care that they provide, Brookdale of West Hartford is a very nice place. The facility is beautiful, extremely clean, and the staff provide excellent care to the residents. However, I do think they could do a better job with the sign-up and onboarding process. There's been some issues between Brookdale and my loved one's long-term insurance provider, and it seems like there's always a new form that I haven't filled out that wasn't provided to me.
