Review
Would recommend this facility to others. And hope some of the new staff adhere to the rules of the facility and family members. Most staff members are kind and friendly and they are always attentive. Some still need a little work but I think/hope that they are willing to learn. Overall I’m happy with the care.

Review for Brookdale Phillippi Creek
We're very happy with Brookdale.They are very friendly and the food is very good. Communication about getting his medical setup was frustrating. We finally just last week got it set up with the doctor that is going to see and treat him when he needs him. [name removed] is very happy there though and everyone seems to love him. I feel sorry for the people that don't have loved ones to be their spokes person.

Poorly staffed and not much happiness here
Staff has a large turnover, activities are lacking, administrators are hands off and non existent. Short staffed constantly. Food is not very good. That place was a absolute nightmare. Very understaffed, very unprofessional staff that was there.

Phillippi Creek has a lot of issues. The billing department has made an error every month. There is huge turnover of staff. They are understaffed constantly. The staff is unprofessional for the most part. The food is horrendous. I could go on, but all I can say is: Do NOT recommend!!

They are short staffed, they don't have enough staff but they are pretty good. Mom likes the food, it smells good. They handle any problems. They are overall; friendly, caring, and wonderful. The nurses-aides are helpful if I have any issues.

This community was not clean and there was not a good smell in the community. There were a lot of stains on the floor and they had not been cleaned up and this was troublesome to me. it was an older community and it looked this way.

Friendly Staff
There are quite a few staff members who care about the residents. The family need to be more proactive at overseeing the medication distribution being done properly. The staff do a good job at making people feel welcome and at home. The interior of the community is kept very nicely. The outside patio area needs to be maintained.

Brookdale Creek review
They are starting to bring back the activities which is great. Our loved one and family likes that this community has a lot of residents, it gives our loved one the chance to meet a lot of new people and make friends. We would recommend the Brookdale community to others, but there is room for improvement.

Retaliate against family for legitimate concerns
Losing all contact with my mother on [date removed] after necesary complaints through the help of my mother's professional guardian [name removed], and her attorney [name removed].This past week I had to report bed bugs. AHCA was there about past complaints and witnesseed the bed bugs. There have been untreated infections leading to loss of left eyeball, infected toe I had to report for over 3 weeks, laundry not done,, dirty room,, mother not being properly bathed, assigned to wrong room so investigation teams miss my mother. Kurt Greenlow said all complaints unfounded and because my mother has a state guardian no agencies will assist. Instead of any agency helping I am bring silenced being my mother's only voice and the only person she sees on a regular basis. This retaliation is to save Brookdale, [name removed] and her guardian [name removed] money in defending against my complaints. Multiple pictures available.

The communication between the staff and our family is good. They keep us well informed and up to date. The ground is absolutely gorgeous and the courtyard is secure and the residence can time outside. I would recommend this community to others.

We chose Brookdale Phillippi Creek because of its convenient location. The room sizes are adequate, similar to others that we looked into. I think that they are very accommodating to specific needs and I would recommend them.

Amazing facility
I can’t say enough about this facility. Our family members live in different places and unable to commit to care for our mother full time. We were concerned how mom would feel in a strange new environment. She thrived shortly after she arrived. They provide a variety of activities . Keeping her engaged and social. Giving her a purpose and a reason to get up. She maintains her independence with the security of knowing she is looked after. It’s absolutely beautiful Inside . The grounds are well kept and colorful. We are very grateful she feels At Home here. She adores the staff and they adore her. We couldn’t be more pleased with moms experience at Brookdale.

Run! Do not put your mom here.
This ALF is the most disorganized place. The management spends the day covering their tracks. The worst is the head of nursing. She has a terrible attitude and doesn't seem to care if meds are on time or right. In the six weeks my mom lived her we had more than four conversations with her about medicine mistakes. She also charged us for services she said my mom received that she didn't. The days they billed us for were prior to my mom even moving in. They were supposed to refund us for days after my mom moved out and never did. The facility its self is nice, the residents are pleasant and the kitchen staff are wonderful. That is the only reason they got two stars.

Disappointed
My grandmother was a resident of this facility for eight years. Our sweet lady passed away in January. What was so disappointing is that after she passed, an employee or employees stole multiple items (including jewelry and electronics) from her room before we had the ability to finish cleaning her apartment. There was zero accountability in this action from management. My family is still reeling from the shock and feeling of violation that this event caused.

Other options
I toured this community for the care for my mom. I was happy to know that they offer a nice variety of meals, but I was not comfortable with the community not being clean. We did not want my mom here if they could not make sure that the environment is clean. The staff was nice and the activities would have been helpful. We feel that families should tour the community on their own.

Figuring out the new policies
We are still trying to clear a few hurdles at the Brookdale Phillippi Creek. They have made some changes in the policies of what they now offer and the things they have changed were the main selling points of why we signed up here. They no longer offer a happy hour for families to get together, and they were to provide a medical service of making sure my dad would take his medication for dementia. Now patients have to remember to go to a nursing station for their meds. There is a major fee associated with this service when we signed up and now the service has been changed we are still trying figure out the details. The staff is super friendly. It is comparatively clean community compared to others we have seen. There are activities offered for the residents if they want to participate. They were offering weekly grocery shopping trips, but lately, they have been canceled, I'm not sure why.

We toured this community for my father's care. We liked that the staff was helpful and able to answer the questions on the care that is offered for the residents.The community was clean and we liked the variety of activities and the choices on the menu.
