I thought the community was very nice during the tour. The location was further for family to visit than we wanted.

Great staff - very welcoming and friendly that truly care about the well-being of their residents
They've lost staff within the last couple of months. The executive director has apparently been having to cook meals. Their meals have gone from a menu format where the residents had choices, to now you get one thing and that's it, with no choices. They've lost their sales director and accounting person. I'm not sure what's going on, but it concerns me that numerous people have left. Also, there have been many complaints about the food, even before the recent staffing issues. The care has been pretty good though overall. When you're taking the tour, I feel like everybody is on their best behavior. But since my family has member moved in, I've noticed that the executive director doesn't really speak to the residents. If he walks by them, he kind of ignores them and doesn't say hello. And that is not what I experienced on the tour.
I would recommend this community for your loved one. My loved one was not there long but for the time that my loved one was it was great, they were very friendly. It was a nice experience with everyone that we dealt with.
Brookdale was very nice. The community is beautiful. The residents were very happy during our tour. The community did let us know that it wouldn't work for us for a few different reasons for my loved one.
We chose Brookdale because it is closer to where she used to live and it is also close to me so I can get to her quickly. The sales director really showed up and answered all of our questions and let us know all about the property. It was all virtual, but they did great with the information. Someone ended up coming to the house to speak with us and we really appreciated it. Everyone I have met is very friendly and helpful and residents seem to be happy. There is a good mix of males and females here. I would recommend to others looking.
Coming from another Brookdale, I was really interested to see this one. But I was surprised that it didn’t seem all that clean, and it felt a little rundown. The carpet was all run and dirty. The rooms had little add-in kitchens, which was a great idea, but they literally took old kitchens and placed them in the rooms, so the moldings were broken and the appliances were old. It needed some hefty updating and cleaning. One of the wings smelled like urine. The grounds were just okay, with no real big place to go sit. To top it off, their prices were ridiculous, so much more than the other Brookdale. The activities guy seemed awesome and energetic though, which I was excited about. And the girl who took us around was very nice, but I got a little bit of a BS feel from her.

We are sorry to hear your tour of Brookdale Colonial Park did not meet your expectations. We want to thank you for taking the time to visit and provide feedback. Our staff is committed to providing the highest-quality service and care and we will share your feedback with our management team.
So far our families experience has been great, and they do have some activities going on right now for the residents to participate in. Our loved one is a picky and difficult eater, but the weekday meals were very good, but the weekend meals were not to be desired. What really stood out to us was the atmosphere, it was very welcoming. We would recommend Brookdale Colonial Park to others, we are very pleased with the place.
The communication was good between the staff and the community and I would recommend this community to others
My loved one said the food was absolutely lacking. The community is decent for your loved one.
I would suggest people not go to this community. This didn't work out for us and our loved one. The community made us pay for additional support to watch over our loved one. The community and I spoke about our loved one's care, the community backed out and said my loved one care was more advanced then they knew about. This was all within 20 days.
This facility has a family atmosphere and large rooms. The prices a very competitive.
Woman giving the tour was abrupt and did not elaborate on anything during a tour. Did not enjoy time spent here. The facility is very nice though and so were the residents who all seemed to enjoy activities. Nursing on site.
Really expensive. Shared rooms offer no privacy for one person. The food is good. The staff seems friendly. You never know what time a doctor will show up. They may put your loved one on medication that you have specifically told them not to give your loved one.
The food is good and the staff is nice. The room is terrible because it is shared and basically mom is Couchsurfing in someone else's room for an exorbitant price. She has no privacy. They've told me they like to medicate patients so they can adjust better. This seems beyond the pale to me. It's far too expensive for average people.
Everything is working out well for my mother with her move to this community. She is doing well, and I'am comfortable with her move here. She is safe, and in good hands. The experience is going well, and I'am satisfied with her move to this community.
This is a nice community for my father's care. We liked that the staff was helpful and able to answer the questions on the care that is offered for the residents. The community was clean and we liked the variety of activities and the choices on the menu. We would suggest that families tour this community for the care of a loved one.
The staff here is working real well with me and my husband. The community is very clean and we like it here. The food is good and we like to go to the dining hall to mingle with the other residents. I also love our apartment it is big and has lots of natural light.
Everything is great for my parents. They are acclimating just well. The community is finishing up with remodeling. It looks nice and it is more updated. I hear good things about meals and activities from what my parents tell me. I am satisfied with what they community provides.
