My mother felt she had better care here, than at other communities. I would tell my friends not go to this community. The staff didn't treat me well. My loved one fell while in the community, and had to be taken to the hospital and didn't return. My loved one's spouse couldn't remember where their spouse went. I had to go stay with my loved one. The community didn't like me being there, and they were rude to me during this time. I ended up getting an outside agency to stay 24 hours a day with my loved one. The Gardens doesn't have any type of memory care. The food wasn't good as well.

Hello, thank you for your feedback regarding our community. You are correct in that our community only offers Assisted Living. If a resident develops the need for services that exceed our scope of care, such as those that would be provided in a special Memory Care neighborhood, this would be outside the scope of care for the community. Although it appears that our services no longer matched the care needs of your loved ones, we are pleased that your mother felt it was the best care she received. In regard to our team members not treating you well, on multiple occasions we had to address with you inappropriate behavior to our team members. We have a responsibility to protect both our residents and our team members. If you have further concerns, please reach out to the community’s Executive Director.
The time has come for my father to accept help on a daily basis at 80 years of age. We talked about his options and decided on Gardens of Westlake. Gardens was our first choice due to our positive experience with my father in law who lived at Gardens some 10 years ago. Though we were apprehensive due to the COVID pandemic, we called and set up a virtual tour of several available apartments with [name removed] who is their director of sales. [name removed] found the perfect apartment for my father with a private patio facing the beautifully wooded property at Gardens. When we arrived, we were greeted and welcomed with open arms to the Gardens community. Every employee we met was courteous and professional making the move a pleasant experience despite the pandemic. All Garden employees were wearing appropriate personal protective equipment and treated the pandemic very seriously. I feel we are in great hands here and I'm looking forward to seeing my father thrive at Gardens at Westlake.

Beware the Gardens at Westlake: If you are looking for a safe, reliable place for your loved ones and an ethical, honest management team, I would steer clear of the Gardens of Westlake and any facility owned by Spectrum Retirement, LLC. In March of 2020, my grandmother passed away after several years as a model resident. I visited her at The Gardens of Westlake several times and was always happy to find my grandma enjoying life and her friendships with the outstanding staff there. When the time came to vacate her apartment and remove all of her belongings, I was shocked to learn about the plan the parent company, Spectrum Senior Living LLC proposed and insisted on following. ,They exposed my family to unsafe move out conditions, lied and broke their contract by hiring undocumented and unlicensed movers who dumped all of my Grandmother’s personal items into a Pods container in the parking lot in 90 degree heat., All of my grandmothers jewelry (Including her wedding rings) was stolen from her room during the move-out process. Despite assurances beforehand by Spectrum Retirement, LLC that the Garden’s management team would personally oversee the move- out with a professional service under the guise of COVID-19 protocols, no one showed up as promised except for a local and unlicensed team of two day laborers who were contracted for at the last minute. Spectrum Retirement, LLC would not allow even one family member in full safety compliance to be present while unsupervised day laborers handled the move of my grandmothers possessions. On the day of the move-out, one of the day-laborers , in a fit of rage, (cruelly subjected a whole wing of the residence and the residents to a profanity laced tirade. Knowing well how professional and caring the staff of Gardens at Westlake is, I am sure they must have been outraged and saddened by Spectrum’s mis-handling of our family ‘s last days as part of the community. This experience made a mockery of Spectrum Retirement LLC’s stated corporate values of Integrity, Respect, Excellence and Stewardship. Be careful of this place and keep a close eye on your loved ones and their possessions.

Hello, thank you for your feedback. We regret that you experienced difficulty and frustration in moving your grandmother’s items out of the community. We are equally as disappointed in the contracted moving company and those they sent to represent them that day. We have encouraged you to submit this information and feedback to them, including a request that you file a formal complaint with the local authorities, particularly related to any items you believe to be missing. As of this date, you have not done so. Our community only contracts with appropriately licensed and documented companies, so your statement to the contrary is wholly untrue. The move was coordinated in line with our SafeMove program, with specific guidelines and instruction provided to your family in advance. This program was established in compliance with guidance from the CDC, and federal, state, and local healthcare authorities to ensure the safety of our residents and team members, as well as uphold the environment we’ve worked so hard to maintain. Based on the events from this day, we believe we acted in your family’s best interest and followed all of COVID-19 protocols and processes. We cannot be held liable for another company’s actions. Upon move-out, your family reiterated how happy they were with the care your grandmother received at our community. She was a wonderful resident and we are lucky that she called the Gardens at Westlake Senior Living home. We wish you and your family peace and comfort during this time.

Your satisfaction is our top priority. Thank you so much again for your feedback! We hope you have a great day!
In just a few weeks my mom will be celebrating two years as a resident at The Gardens at Westlake. I remember well the process of visiting area senior communities, evaluating her options and selecting the place where she felt most comfortable, most “at home.” When [name removed] showed us around on the day of our first visit, and we looked out over the beautiful natural wooded landscape, Mom and I turned to each other and exclaimed, “Oh my gosh, this looks just like home!” As the day went on, we began to appreciate the friendliness of the residents, the staff, the optimal size and the welcoming atmosphere in all the common areas. We left with an appreciation of the delicious meals, the attention to detail, and the fun and caring spirit that was a common thread among the staff we met. In the years since that day, we have come to know many of the staff well and consider them friends! We see the fun-loving spirit and creativity that goes into the special meals, the holiday events, the weekly excursions and activities for residents. We are delighted with the efforts of the head chef, [name removed], to provide delicious and nutritious meals and even go the extra mile when someone has a special request, as Mom did, for a certain kind of pie at Christmas. We appreciate the extra effort the entire staff displays to decorate the dining room for special meals, and the lobby for holidays. It didn’t take long for Mom begin speaking of [name removed] and [name removed], who wear many hats, as if they’d been long-time friends. Before long, Friday’s “Happy Hour” had become one of the high points of the week! What makes the Gardens at Westlake so unique and so desirable is hard to define, but a certain esprit de corps elevates the living experience here. And, as advertised, “This place feels like home!” This resident and her family members are grateful for the quality of life and the quality of care provided by the Gardens at Westlake!
Loved this facility....beautiful.
our tour was very pleasant and informative. Maintenance was very helpful especially at move in. Nursing and caregivers were very helpful and treated my father in law very special. Peggy, we are so happy to read such a great review about Gardens at Westlake! We appreciate your recommendation of our facility!
The tour went very well and the staff were very friendly and answered all my questions. They had a unit available, and they were sensitive to the time constraint on my family in getting both parents into an assisted living residence. We decided on this facility.
The staff is wonderful! They go above and beyond to provide the best care to the residents and their families. The facility is clean and staff is friendly. They also value the community and host special events for anyone to attend. Can't say enough positive things about Gardens at Westlake!
The Gardens at Westlake is absolutely gorgeous the rooms have patios while others have balconies and the grounds were amazing. We had a wonderful tour and a plus was that they do accept pets but I did not feel that it was going to be secure enough for my father as his dementia progressed. I also felt the elevators were not centrally located on the different floors. It is well suited for those who are looking into a nice assisted living community.
My parents are pleased and doing well since their move into The Gardens at Westlake. The staff is very welcoming and accommodating. I have had meals with them and the food is very good. There have been a couple of small incidents but they were quick to resolve them. I don't expect them to be perfect. We are happy with our choice.
What I very much appreciated is the fact that the Staff has been very open and honest about what they presented about the property, care, and what to expect. All of our questions were answered and the facility has been a great transition for our Mother.
This is a nice community, and my tour was a nice one. The community looked nice, and well-kept. You could tell they do a good job with the cleanliness. The staff was polite, and informative. It was a pleasant experience.
So far my father in law is doing great since her move to this community. They are doing a fantastic job caring for him and his needs. The staff is very helpful and accommodating. It has been a great experience, and we are pleased with his move to this community. This is a community I would recommend, it has worked out well for our family.
Although I have been a resident for about a month, I want to let you know how much I enjoy living at the Gardens. The view from my room is so peaceful as I watch nature blooming. The staff is excellent and I want to thank everyone for making me feel so welcome.
So far our experience with The Gardens at Westlake has been a very good one. It's a clean, nice looking facility, and all of the staff I have met seem friendly and professional. My loved one settled in quickly and really seems to be enjoying himself!
