Brandywine Living in Litchfield CT is a beautiful facility with staff that truly cares about each resident. Both of my parents have spent time there, and I found every single staff member - from the incredible woman at the front desk who is so helpful to the kind nursing staff to the director whose enthusiasm and positive outlook set the tone for all -- to be truly invested in every resident. The staff know the residents' families well, understand what each resident needs to feel comfortable and engaged, and always go above and beyond to make sure each day for each resident is as good as it can be. We have been so grateful for Brandywine.

Exceptional facility!!
The search for assisted living is daunting but after a tour of Brandywine and meeting several staff members, I was convinced we found the right place for my father. They asked detailed questions to make sure he would be properly cared for with respect and dignity. The facility is very clean and well maintained. There are so many activities to keep all the residents entertained. I am so relieved to have my father in Brandywine and knowing that he will be well cared for by qualified, knowledgeable and friendly employees.

Could not be happier with this facility
My mother is a resident at Brandywine in Litchfield, CT., an active woman who will turn ninety-nine on her next birthday. She is treated with kindness and respect by the staff and has made many friends and acquaintances there. She keeps herself busy with the activities they provide and has even taken up a few new interests and hobbies. They have exercise classes, music, movies, book club, cooking classes and much more. Her diet has improved, the food is plentiful, and we have heard lots of compliments about the meals, desserts and treats they provide. The facility is very clean and decorated with a luxurious atmosphere. The staff are wonderful, the executive director, wellness directors, kitchen staff, maintenance department, and all the others provide a hospitality that is tough to beat. They are caring, hands-on, friendly and devoted to their careers and the residents. I can't express my joy at having Mother is such a great facility.

My great grandmother lives there and she loves it. Smaller community, big rooms, good food, etc. All the staff are very professional and caring. She’s loves it and I love that she’s living there. Overall, 10/10 place.

I would recommend
We were totally dissatisfied with the place she was at before, so then Brandywine Living was recommended to us by A Place for Mom and we went to tour and really liked everything that we saw from them. The room sizes here are very good. They have been extremely accommodating and flexible to her special circumstances. It is a little more expensive than some other places that we looked at, but in my estimation I feel it is absolutely worth it. I would recommend them to other families looking.

Our tour experience
Our family had an in person tour and the staff were very caring, and it had a great atmosphere. My husband and I would be staying in the room together an we did not like how the room we would of moved into looked over a parking lot, and they did not have a private deck. We toured another community which had the private deck which we liked more, and the location was more convenient.

My mother was a resident in Reflections at Brandywine Living at Litchfield for the last three years. We were really happy with her care and the caring community that Brandywine provided for her. In the three years she lived at Brandywine, we got to know the staff quite well. They always made us feel welcome, as if we were "visiting grandma's house!" We came to most look forward to the Family Connections events every month, where the whole family was invited for music, delicious food, dancing, arts and crafts - unique events each month and so much fun! Brandywine feels like family. Their kindness, understanding, and care in difficult decisions and transitions meant the world to us...and above all, welcoming our family with open arms.

A Safe Place
I moved my 90 year old mother into Brandywine in Litchfield Ct after a rehab, and during the pandemic. Because of the virus we visit through a plexiglass partition. They are vigilant and keep the patients safe. My mother is in the memory unit. She is healthy, loves the food, has made some friends and looks good. The staff has been very helpful. I live out of state and I feel that my mother is in a safe place with real professionals.

Transitioning my mother in to a new assisted memory care facility was definitely made easier through the wonderful director of Community Relations, [name removed], who answered all the questions that helped me to select this community for my mother. The process can be daunting, especially in this uncertain pandemic environment, but all my questions about providing a safe facility were answered. Brandywine Living has a team of caring professionals who coordinate socially active programs, including private Face Time meetings to keep in touch with mom and who coordinate with a caring medical team, who are receptive and responsive to monitoring mom's needs and my concerns. Daily menus are sent to my e-mail address and the food sounds delicious.

Review of Brandywine Living at Litchfield
My wife has been a resident at Brandywine for the past two months. In that time I've had the opportunity to meet the nursing staff, kitchen and house-keeping staff. Everyone is so helpful and courteous.
The community is kept clean and secure. If your considering placing a loved on in an Assisted Care Community, I would recommend Brandywine Assisted Living.

Brandywine in Litchfield is truly an amazing place. It's the people who work there and the people who live there that make it so wonderful. The staff (administration, aides, nursing, events coordinator, dining staff; all staff!) treat residents like their family. It has to be one of the best in the country. My mother is extremely happy there. I would recommend it to anyone.

I loved coming here to spend time with my grandmother. I watched movies with her and we ate snacks on the porch and sometimes I ate lunch with her. This is a very nice place and I recommend it to everybody. I am 9.

Mom really enjoys eating in the beautiful dining room. She has lovely tables-mates. The overall facility is a cut above! My husband and I are so impressed by the dedicated staff. And, the programs are amazing! Much better than other places we visited and experimented in Texas. Very upbeat and exciting, I took a painting class with my mom! This is truly a beautiful place to be.

On our first visit to Brandywine in Litchfield, Connecticut we met [Removed]. Her warm welcome and introduction to her colleagues during the tour of the facility immediately put us at ease. As we walked through the hallways her sincere kindness and consideration of each of the residents we met along the way was apparent.
[Removed] continues to answer all of our questions and addresses our concerns, as does the entire staff at Brandywine.
The Brandywine facility is beautiful and well maintained, the meals are wonderful and the atmosphere is cheerful and inviting with an extensive offering of activities.
Moving from Florida into an assisted living community has been a difficult transition for our mother, but the wonderful care and attention she receives reassures her, and us. We highly recommend Brandywine.

Superb Care in all Regards

I am delighted to comment on all 5, since Brandywine maxes-out on all of them. My aunt has been a resident here for one year, and over that time I've observed:
Cleanliness -- this past year, Brandywine added resident rooms and refurbished/redecorated the entire facility. At no time did this overhaul (it looked great even before the refresh) compromise cleanliness. My aunt's own one room apartment has always been spotless -- weekly cleaning is thorough.
Friendliness -- staff at every level is upbeat and cordial, greeting my aunt by name (keeping it personal). Housekeeping, dining room staff, lobby reception, administration, nursing -- even maintenance -- all contribute to a friendly, cheerful atmosphere. My aunt has no short term memory but she always comments "this is a great place!"
Value -- the care that my aunt receives is priceless, but, of course, it has a price. There is no question in my mind -- and the minds of other family members entrusted with her care -- that Brandywine is a fabulous value. We researched other facilities but are confident that this is better value than the monthly fee.
Care services -- Exceptional. From medication administration to monitoring behavior, attendance for meals, personal hygiene, my aunt is in the best hands. Brandywine is flexible with special needs and tailors services to correspond to needs. They have also been extremely helpful in assisting with decisions on care from their wealth of experience.
Activities -- My aunt is not a "joiner" -- a single, very independent self-starter all her life -- so group activities don't typically appeal to her. Brandywine's staff has been successful in getting her to join-in from time to time, and respects her wishes when she says "no." There's a calendar of daily activities that relates to myriad interests; I've observed song sessions, bingo, shuttle bus departures for area restaurants and concerts on the town green, craft programs (and on and on).
My cousins and I sleep nights, knowing our aunt is safe, cared-for, well-fed, respected and -- well -- loved. Brandywine is perfect for her -- and us.
