I'm afraid of their staff. It wasn't easy getting my loved one moved to a different Alzheimer's facility. They didn't want my loved one moved.
This isn't the fanciest place; however, one thing that sold us is that the feeling of family from the staff and the way the community made us feel at home at the tour. The staff are super patient in providing response to my questions or concerns. The admin staff are the same way. They treat my loved one well, and make sure the family feels the same way. Medication management, hygiene, and bathing assistance are some of the care provided by the community. The monthly fee includes the care, all three meals and snacks, activities, the apartment, housekeeping, laundry, and changing of linens.
We typically enjoy the outside area especially with the weather getting nicer. The outside grounds are super nice, there is a golf course near by with wild life and places to sit down and relax. On Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays they have the rosary which is something our loved one enjoys going to. we enjoy about 4 or 5 of the care taker, they are attentive with any questions and if we loose something they are quickly on top of it
Our family had an in person tour and we really liked the way they treated their residents, you could tell that have a nice care system in place. However, this community looks like it would be better for residents who are pretty far gone with their memory loss and we did not like how it was close to a busy and noisy street. We did really like how the staff members kept the residents stimulated and active, and did not just leave them sitting in a chair in front of a tv or in their rooms.
I really liked Arden Courts. We actually did an in person tour and the parts of the facility we were not able to see they virtually were able to show us. The staff here were really sweet and the director who showed us around actually had his dog help out with the tour which was really cute. He knew all of the residents by name which spoke volumes. The facility ended up being too expensive.
We really appreciated the way they took care of our loved one while he was there, he received so much better care then the previous community he was at.
This community is very nice. I would recommend others look into this community for their loved ones. Prior to COVID they had several activities for residents to choose from. They had a violinist coming in to entertain the residents. They even have holiday celebrations.
My family member was in memory care for one month before his death. I could not have asked for more compassionate or skillful care during his stay. Once the quarantine prevented me from visiting, the staff took their time to communicate with me and to arrange for video phone calls. The interior appearance is a bit dated, but don't let that sway your judgement on the excellent care provided there.
This is the perfect fit for my dad! He has settled in and the staff are always friendly and love my dad. This place and staff have given us a peace process of mind knowing he is well taken care of and is safe
I cannot say how much I have appreciated the care and compassion my mother received at Arden Courts for over two years. From the individual caregivers to the nursing staff to the Activity Center staff to the Administrative and Maintenance staff everyone really cares. Within two days at Arden Courts my mother went from an angry and combative resident (at her previous facility) back to her funny and feisty self. I remember I went to visit the second day in the morning and was told, "Oh, your mother is in the Activity Center having coffee after her breakfast at 8:00 a.m." I was dumbfounded because my mother never got up early and had breakfast, let alone went to any activities! My mother made friends, learned to love to sing and listen to music again, and found a structure of love and care that allowed her to thrive. I will never forget how much everyone has done for our family and will always think of them with a tremendous amount of love and gratitude.
Staff very knowledgeable, kind and compassionate. Outdoor area is lovely. Patient rooms are really small and come with basic, institutional furniture.
Visited a friend of mine at arden courts. The staff was helpful and very friendly. The building was very neat and clean. My friend was well taken care of. Knowing he is arden courts make a very difficult time a little easier. Thank You.
I feel fortunate to have found such a caring/giving facility and commend the staff for all their efforts... especially [name removed] and [name removed].
We are in the process of finding a lawyer and reporting to the State due to the lack of care my mother received from this facility. In less than 3 months she lost 7% of her body weight, had bruised wrists and was medicated up and fell and fractured her pelvic ring. She went from only having dementia and physically fine to a wheel chair, wearing diapers and having to be spoon feed in less than 3 months at this facility. This facility doesn't follow legal HIPPA laws or POA and guardian guidelines.
In the process of talking to attorneys and reporting this facility to the state for lack of care my mother received at this facility... in less than 3 months she lost 7% of her body weight, had bruised wrists, was medicated up and suffered a fall fracturing her Pelvic ring. She went from being only having dementia although physically fine to a wheel chair wearing diapers and not being able to feed herself in less than 3 months at this facility before we removed her. Arden Courts has been wonderful for our loved one. The caregivers at Arden Courts have been very patient, kind and really understand how to care for their residents. The facility is laid out in a way that is very inviting for people with dementia. Arden has a beautiful secure outdoor area next to a golf course where the residents are able to walk and relax. We feel so blessed that we no longer have to worry about our loved one and know that they are getting great care.
Arden Courts of Sterling Heights has been a blessing! We had to place my mother in a facility after family illness no longer allowed us to take care of her. From the moment we toured the facility we knew we found the perfect place. Very homey and comfortable, awesome workers who are loving and kind, and support for the family. She’s not interested in the activities but it’s very obvious from the smiles that the others enjoy it very much. Thank you Arden Court!
Our friend [Name removed] is very happy there. She is receiving excellent care and has made many friends. She no longer talks about returning to her home. Her health has improved dramatically as she is getting three nutritious meals a day. Unfortunately her memory problems continue to get worse but that is not the fault of the facility. The staff is excellent and takes a personal interest in our friends well being. The facility is kept spotlessly clean and is very much up to date. Being that we live across the country, our minds are at ease that our friend is in a safe caring place.
My husband is now just starting to settle down after being here a little over a month. The hardest thing for him was when the staff said to give it about a week and not to come that really upset him to the point where he ended up in the hospital for a couple of days but now that I visit every day he has improved. I go at dinnertime and he clears his plate he is eating things that he has never eaten before which is good. The staff is amazing they actually have gotten him into the shower after not doing that for a few months. Everything is always clean. I would recommend this community
