Welcome to Anthology of Simsbury, where seniors can age in grace with a continuum of care and support. Residents only have to move once in their senior living journey with Anthology of Simsbury — independent living, assisted living, and memory care are all offered here! Regardless of what services you require, carefully selected associates are ready to provide assistance with activities of daily living, transportation, personal beautification services, grocery shopping, laundry, maintenance, and more. Skilled health care specialists are always available to make on-site visits to provide ancillary services, too.
Residents start and end their days in bright, airy apartments complete with kitchens, private bathrooms, and large walk-in closets. Floor plan options include studio, one-, and two-bedroom suites. After the day has begun, residents are served three meals per day in the large communal dining room.
In between meals, residents are encouraged to participate in the on-site activities and events. These are a great opportunity for residents to get to know one another, try something new, or continue to pursue existing hobbies! Not feeling like an activity today? Again, we like the overall feel, the staff is very friendly, but due to the overworked staff, our questions/concern.....
They seem short staffed; overall it is clean and comfortable ; very friendly staff; It is a safe environment, well lit with a locked door. The communication could be better; meals are usually good; there are a lot of activities but usually involve the TV; a bit over priced.
Again, we like the overall feel, the staff is very friendly, but due to the overworked staff, our questions/ concerns are not always addressed promptly.

I didn't care for Anthology. Although aesthetically pleasing, the atmosphere seemed dreary almost. Figured that maybe the vast majority of residents receive a high level of care. My aunt's not "there" - yet.

Our Experience with Anthology of Simsbury
I did not find them to be very attentive. The food was okay, but they didn't serve it in a manner that was easy for memory care patients to eat - for instance, it should have been cut up into smaller pieces. My loved one's room was dirty, and the floors were never cleaned. The laundry would be sent out and come back with different laundry meant for another person. I just felt that the care was subpar. The nursing care was constantly changing, so there was no stability or continuity for the residents. The aides could have been more caring and sensitive to the residents' needs. I would not recommend Anthology based on our experience.

Our families experience
Just like everyone right now they are having trouble with staffing so things like the house keeping is lacking a little bit. They recently had a head chef change so the meals are not as good as what they were before, and when they have to close down the dining facility and take the food to the residents the meals also struggle. We do think the quality of care there is good, and the workers they do have there are great and very lovely. It is expensive so the expectations are a little higher The engagement director has started going to some of the activities and has been impressed with how good the quality of the activities are. Also sometimes communication is lacking.

Mother In Law
After we heard the diagnosis that my mother in law has severe dementia we were devastated. After a lot of soul searching, and knowing this was a very difficult decision to make putting my mother in law in a secure memory care facility.
We fell in love with Anthology of Simsbury immediately that this was the place for her. It is very homey and everyone is beyond helpful. My mother in law loves the place and she is always smiling and talking to everyone. We know she is happy and that gives us peace of mind and relief.

This was a beautiful community. The was too big of a community for my loved one as they potentially may not be near the nursing area. They did have an overnight nurse available for the residents.

An excellent assisted living center that makes things very easy for families during the initial process.
Getting moved into Anthology of Simsbury was an easy process They kept us up to date with what was going on and prepared my family member for what was going to happen when he got here. I was very impressed. With activities, they're always doing something. And the care has all been excellent.

Peace of Mind in a Safe and Caring Community
I would tell others that this is a great place for your loved one. I would recommend you still stay on top of follow through in care by the staff for your loved one. The new Executive Director has been able to assist the staff and the residents in getting well acquainted in the community and with each other. The communication with the staff is wonderful and they are always available to answer a question or address a concern I may have.
The apple strudel is very good that I had. The food smells and looks wonderful. The staff are helpful to ensure all the residents are fed in a timely manner. They work with dietary restrictions for the residents. There is a weekly menu that is updated.
The staff are very sweet with my loved one and the interaction is great with the care managers and my loved one.

Our tour experience
Our family had an in person tour and the staff were very professional and from an physically appearance a very nice looking building. However from a geographical standpoint it was just too far from where we were living at the time.

Beautiful facility, hopeful for future improvements
The place is beautiful right when you walk in it looks like a stationary cruise ship. From what we have been able to see of the community it is very clean, but our loved ones room could be more tidy. The front desk workers are absolutely exceptional, however there has been some staffing and administration problems. Administration has had multiple turnovers with temp staff agency, and the food is not good at all.

My families experience
Our first impression of this community was nice, it was brand new and beautiful. They had a great dining hall with a nice food menu, But once COVID came the food really went downhill, and the communication was lacking between the staff members and the residents. There would be times our loved one would hit her call button and they would not come in a timely manner. And due to it being brand new, there were not many activities to be offered.
