This screening includes a number of areas of interest such as effective behavioral management techniques, recent changes or risk factors in the resident s life, the resident s medical status, and each resident must receive a functional needs assessment completed in writing by a physician or other licensed health care professionall. This community has a number of provisions concerning food and diet which include staff training must include the topic of nutrition., meals must substantially comply with the recommended dietary allowances of the National Academy of Science s Food and Nutrition Board, Therapeutic or modified diets must be prepared according to a physician s or dietician s orders., and The residence must accommodate residents who are unable to eat at planned mealtimes and provide for meal substitution if the resident does not tolerate or like the food provided. The maximum occupancy is 2 residents per room. There must be one toilet for every 1 residents and one bath or shower for every 1 residents. Staff are required to obtain training in a variety of areas. These areas include infection control, the residence s policies and procedures, abuse prevention and reporting, and emergency procedures and disaster plans. This type of community is required to offer a number of services. These include activity regimens, help with self administration of medications and medication administration, personal assistance, and Alzheimer s/dementia training.
