Assisted living communities have the luxury of a sense of community as well as personalized help. Assisted living communities frequently provide supervision of care, assistance with appointments and transit, and aid with daily activities. These provisions include medication supervision and administration, proper training of direct care workers to handle and administer medications, and reminding a resident to maintain his/her medication schedule in accordance with the prescription. Before a resident is accepted, they must go through a service plan screening to make sure their needs are going to be met. This screening includes a number of areas of interest such as service plan takes into account the preferences and competency of the resident, The home must complete a service plan in cooperation with each resident and/or their representative, The service plan must be updated annually and following a significant change in health status, and service plan identifies the individual’s need for services. This type of community is required to offer a number of services. These include reminding resident of important activities to be carried out, guidance, supervised personal care, and medication management. Public assistance is available through Medicaid State Plan. Staff members receive training in a number of fields. These areas include administration of medication, first-aid, supervision, and staff training program based on the home’s program statement.
